Today just confirmed soccer will never become popular in North America (outside Mexico for obvious reasons), Oceania, and Asia.
Humiliating day for Fifa and the pushers of the sport. All claims it isn't a regionalized sport but an international one were just shattered permanently. It's localized in certain regions and not cared for everywhere else.

Football is the most popular in Asia.
Even in Japan and S Korea is the most popular between zoomers. Only 80yo boomers like baseball in those countries.

In China is already the most popular (basketball my ass).

Youre really the most retarded amerigolem in this site
The only amateur side in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup, Auckland City would appear to be the odd ones out at the tournament. But as goalkeeper Conor Tracey told ESPN, the club are serving a much larger purpose: representing the majority of footballers around the world.

That have very limited interest in American football. That is known, no one flashes American football as this international sport the way you do with soccer
Ultimately the strongest teams will be concentrated in the areas that have the most interest in the sport as they will have interest for the best players. That has overwhelmingly seen in a small area of western Europe, with a few Latin American teams. Others can't support any economic development or have no interest in soccer.
What does this tell you about interest in soccer in Oceania that the strongest team is full-time amateur and loses 10-0? Ultimately, that region has no interest in soccer, and that interest in the sport is only in these small pockets mentioned above.

And even then, the Western European teams simply have the most money - every single good player from NZ will go to Europe asap. Oceania is tiny but New Zealand and Australian are rich countries, if they had any interest in the sport they'd put together a competent team that would lose by 3 goals max.
The truth is all the money is invested in Western Europe teams, including by Yanks and Arabs, because that's where the best investment is, because that's the concentrated area into soccer. Having so many top-heaviness in the sport in Western Europe shows that's the epicenter of interest and it fizzles out entirely past there, outside Latin America who isn't as good of a market. No different for what countries have the best baseball or basketball or cricket clubs or so on.

the average city with half a million residents will have at least twenty or so footy clubs with multiple teams in every age group sorted by quality. of course there will have to be a lot of leagues to accommodate these teams.
I really donโ€™t get why this is so strange to Americans

The NFL teams are worth a lot because they're franchises that are treated as investment vehicles and tax write offs for billionaires. These teams play in a closed league that will go on in perpetuity and thus there's almost no risk on the franchise aside from the economic collapse of a city. Soccer teams are always competing in promotion and relegation leagues where you move up or down the divisions, thus they are inherently riskier and worth considerably less relative to the safety of American sports-judaism.

I live in a town of 40,000
That town actually consists of six different villages. Each of them has a football club, the largest one has two. So seven clubs for 40,000. A few years ago, there were nine, but there were a few mergers as the smallest clubs were swallowed by their neighbors. Some of the clubs also offer other sports than football, of course
We have like 30,000 clubs or something, but many clubs have more than one senior team. As in: the club of my village plays 8th tier, but they have a second team playing in the 10th and a third team in the 11th. These are basically just 35-45yo drunkards
We have up to 11 tiers depending on the region and state. England has more, but itโ€™s mostly because they split up their tiers later. They still have a single fifth tier, we have 14
May sound strange, of course we have many players and clubs. But itโ€™s not freakish. Plenty of people play other sports, and quite a few kids stop playing when leaving the last junior teams
