Most of them were originally built up in highly populated areas, so they had no room to build them like that, instead you had 4 sides of terracing packed in

Unironically, Seattle's stadium was packed yesterday with local fans. I used to think that only people from the south of the US watched soccer, but I found Seatle's stadium much more packed with local fans than Messi FC's stadium.

a stadium like this would not be allowed in Europe because every competition requires all single seater stadiums, a trend that started after a certain fanbase massacred their own fans WHILE they were banned from international competitions due to previously massacring an other team's fans. The funny thing? That fanbase actually considers themselves to be the victims of a gross injustice to this day! Ain't that quackin crazy?

Seattle is probably the best most authentic soccer (and all sports in general) market in the country, everyone else is plastic basically

There were quite a few of them, but they died out as new safety concepts became mandatory (and the next modernization wave hit). Without bleachers being allowed, they were eventually abandoned as a concept. We never had tons of them, though, because they turned out to be a rather brief phase between modern seater stadiums and old small box stadiums that were much cheaper and the first things clubs built

You'd think NH and VT would have more soccer fans because the heartland of American Soccer the Eastern Seaboard and you'd think Idaho would have more just because all its population is Mormon extensions or PNW extremists.

Rose Bowl is a really shit stadium. Its very old and not well kept up.
It looks cool though. The other games are in NFL/MLS stadiums which are better kept up.

I'd say the New York and LA Suburbs are the heartland of American soccer, when everywhere else was dead they were the ones that kept it alive. Basically every suburb in LA or New York has some NT legend who grew up there.
Seattle is with New England and the Bay Area as important but secondary
