In preparation for our match in less than 12 hours, I will fill you in on some details about South American football.
Flamengo has been the undisputed biggest team in South America for the past 40+ years, in all ways. Flamengo doesn't only have the most titles, we have the most supporters (or twisters as we call them) in Brazil: 50 million brazilians are Flamengo fans. This is actually the most out of any team in the world if you exclude indians. Since Spain only has 48 million people, Real Madrid and Barcelona can at most have half of the fans Flamengo has.
As I mentioned before, Flamengo also has the most titles out of any team in the world. Despite Palmeiras buying over 10 titles this decade (fax titles as we call them - they donated great sums of money to our confederation, so they were awarded 15 retroactive titles, which are all they have), Flamengo still has the most trophies in the world with over 200 titles. 100 of those are from a regional tournament (more than Botafogo and Fluminense combined, they are from the same state), 50 of those are from the brazilian league, that has been dominated by Flamengo since it started a hundred years ago. Actually, a rule was implemented to stop Flamengo from winning too much, we can't win too many titles in a row so we have to let the other teams win sometimes. Another 50 are from the Brazil Cup, which happens alongside the league and is played by all teams in the country. Flamengo treats it like a charity since we often play against small teams. It's the dream of all players to play against Flamengo, everyone wants to be our rival. The remaining 20 trophies are from international competitions, like the Libertadores, where Flamengo can finally stop playing nice. We rule Libertadores as absolute tyrants. Mexico dropped out of the Libertadores after it was ruled brazilian teams could also win instead of just uruguayans. Speaking of uruguayans, they are also big fans of Flamengo [continues in the next post]

Uruguayans LOVE Flamengo (meaning we have another 20 million supporters!). We also love uruguayans, Most of our main squad is actually the Uruguayan national team (yes, the 4-time world champions). FIFA ruled that Flamengo would play this tournament representing Uruguay, thats why there are no uruguayan teams and also the reason why all the other brazillian teams suck. The Japanese also love Flamengo. The LEGEND Zico played for Flamengo, which means Flamengo is the default choice for the Japanese. This gives us another 200 million supporters, making Flamengo the largest team in the solar system even if you include the indians. Said indians will jump ship from Shitty after Flamengo wins this tournament. Let's face it: no one can stop Flamengo. We are currently well rested since it's the start of our league. Our players have only played 40 matches this season. Also we have only lost one match in the league so far, against the second place team. That match was only lost since one of our former players is now in that other team, we wanted to be nice to him as a thank you gift. It's actually kind of sad that FLamengo is so dominant. Other Rio teams get demotivated since they know Flamengo is going to win in the end, which makes them get relegated. Fluminense, another team from Rio that is in the Club World Cup, was in the third tier the last time we won the cwc. Meanwhile, Flamengo has NEVER been relegated. The only other South American team to do that is São Paulo, who paid to not be relegated.
In conclusion, Flamengo is the most honest team in Brazil, while still being the most successful in the world. Flamengo is a shining beacon of hope that proves that you can still be successful in Brazil despite being honest. We hope you enjoy playing (and losing) against us, like the other brazillian teams do.

>>149229652Brazilians unironically did not care about Copa Libertadores until fairly recently. Why? Because Brazilian clubs already played state league and the national cup, which was essentially a Copa Libertadores of all state leagues.
Also, every time a Brazilian club got far after they started caring, refs would steal matches in favor of Boca and River. This is not a one time or one team thing, and they did not hide it either.

MORE FACTS:
Flamengo has the best defense in the brazilian league this year, suffering only 4 goals while scoring 24.
>>149243229Also the best attack! Cruzeiro (2nd place) and Mirassol (9th place) are the next highest scorers with 17 goals each. The next best defense is from Botafogo (7 goals conceded, 8th place). Mirassol are literal whos that had never heen in the first tier so it's quite impressive they arent last.

>>149246280All teams are pretty mixed, I can't think of any that is particularly white. If you consider pic related white, then the best I could find is Coritiba (currently in the second division).
Belo Horizonte teams may seem popular but it's just because the state of Minas Gerais export lots of people to the rest of Brazil. People who are not from there don't really care about Belo Horizonte clubs. That also means they are the most neutral choice. If you choose a team from São Paulo, fans from the other teams will laugh at you.
>>149246400Grêmios was funded by German immigrants.
They have 3 libertadores and 5 Brazilian cups
But they also have only 2 Brazilian leagues and 3 relegations so they in a limbo between being a big club and a medium one
They also have a nice stadium, but their fans are mostly located in Rio grande do Sul so they don’t have nation wide fan base

They don't have a nation-wide fanbase but they are known to be passionate and agressive. Maybe it's because I lived in the south half of my life, but I think people care more about Inter and Gremio than the two from Belo Horizonte.

>>149233420The starting XI that River fielded against Mineiro on the last Libertadores semifinal was more expensive than Mineiro's, its not that the money is lacking, its just that their management is retarded and refuses to sign proper players. Is the rest of the league suffering from economical issues? Yes, but the teams that arent really shouldnt be performing as badly as they have. Chelsea and City have been class for England with all the money they have, Bayern, Madrid, PSG, all of them have money and know how to spend it. River and Boca keep spending on mediocre players and retirement home dwellers
