There are countless baseball style shirts for all sorts of entities that have absolutely nothing to do with the sport. With that and Yankees/Dodgers caps, the fashion at the very least has definitely permeated throughout the world. The language of baseball also seeps into many idioms and even terms that get picked up by other sports. Boxing uses "southpaw", but the word's origins are distinctly baseball. Lastly, baseball is a mindset which even those who have no idea about it are inherently attuned to even if they don't realize it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t NPB players play with Romanji on their jerseys anyway? This just seems like a quick cash grab, “American baseball jersey but Nihon!”

Yes, though modern MLB mostly isn't. Baseball itself is extremely relevant even with its waning popularity.
