why can't we beat sudaka teams?
did we overestimate our strength and underestimate them?
I'm getting tired of these lame excuses, like the pitch is too dry, grass too short, weather too hot, you name it
it's not like we are sending our B-squads either, our best teams are not able to beat South American clubs
this is getting very embarrassing considering we have been buying their best players for decades

brasileirao is as competitive as the championship in england, but with a higher budget, where the mid-tier have higher budgets than average la liga/bundes

I think only the prem has more budget per team on average

European footie leagues suck

I think La Liga and Serie A have more money if you get the median as well. (the average may push even Ligue 1 and others above)
We forget because La Liga is less balanced, but teams like Sevilla tend to be very good. Barça, Real and generally Atleti are just way more expensive.

average brasileirao revenue per club is 50-60million euros
la liga is 30million
you guys have extremely concentrated tournaments in two to three teams… so you end up having a bunch of farmer leagues

if brasileirao reduced the number of relegation spots from 4 to 2 it’d increase competitiveness even more (and allow for longer projects and less chaos)

the only advantage euro leagues have over sudaca is your organisation and oil money, they’d wipe the floor if they organised it better (dont even need the oil money, fan support would carry it)

I only watched the highlights. I saw Porto having quite a few chances as well and the statistics aren't disparate. Palmeiras had 10% more possession and they had 40% of their shots on target compared to Porto which had 30%.
Porto is really weak this season despite the memes, they were facing bankruptcy with only €8000 left in their account. The Porto goalkeeper was great, yes but it wasn't even Diogo Costa.
Palmeiras is supposed to be one of the best teams in SA but they couldn't score. The same thing happened with Fluminense against Dortmund which was actually way superior but they still couldn't score.

porto and palmeiras have on average the same budget so it isnt surprising
brasileirao is at the same level of 2nd tier of europe
only the oil money tier clubs are better
the difference is they probably have 8-10 clubs at this level in the same championship (see sao paulo and corinthians who have similar revenue to palmeiras/flamengo and are not in there, or cruzeiro/gremio/internacional/atletico mineiro)

Not saying Palmeiras wasn't at fault for not making the goal.
Fluminense is not very good rn, it's 6th in the Serie A and nobody thinks they can win anything this year, I thought Dortmund would wipe the floor with them. They played a good game, even better than Palmeiras against Porto, but lacked offensively and it costed them the game.

I know, it's so embarrassing. We care so much and think so highly of us and yet it is revealed for the entire world on the biggest and most important stage in a sovlful tournament that they not only can compete with us but are actually superior. I want to get back into our comfy little echo chamber where we are not challenged and consider us superior.

For me, this tournament just showed how fradulent Barca's UCL run was:
>faces Benfica in the round of 16 and defeats them 4-1 in aggregate
>Benfica draws 2-2 to Boca after being down 2 goals
>faces Dortmund in the quarters and defeats them 5-3 in aggregate while losing the second leg 3-1
>Dortmund draws 0-0 to Fluminense
>faces inter in the semis and losing 7-6 in aggregate, thus conceding 7 (SEVEN) goals to the italian side
>inter draws 1-1 with Monterrey, a fucking Liga MX team
complete frauds

no no, its a few teams with a fuckton of cash and a lot of slurpers
serie a is more balanced than la liga or ligue 1 for sure
none of them is as balanced as the brasileirao, mostly because team support in the brasileirao is spread out (in some ways its similar to the prem), so financials even out
the problem with brasileirao is flamengo being the media’s darling and sucking up tv deals. you really need to watch out and make a proper league to break these fuckers and save brazilian footie.

KEEP IN MIND

KEEP IN MIND

THAT

the sudaca football leagues start in march and end in december which means that the players right now are at their full athletic potential while the european teams have finished their seasons and the players are dead. also the weather is something sudacas are used to and the pitches in america right now are as dry as women when they see me.

important to note that because the sudacas played from march to december their NTs decades ago were fresh during world cups, once again giving them an unfair advantage. now that their best players play in europe they are tired during world cup and that's why they don't perform as well as they used to in world cup.

THEY WERE FRAUDS.

Same thing I noticed. Up until minute 70-75 it was pretty even with maybe a slight edge to Palmeiras, it's from there onward that fatigue from playing nonstop since August settled it and Palmeiras took over the game. But even more than that, what I noticed the most is how similarly Palmeiras plays compared to us, even down to the same flaws of slow, predictable plays, zero pressing from the midfield, and a lot of failed passes. 11 shot attempts at the end of the 90 minutes is a pretty good result for us all things considered. We had several league games this season with mid-tier and even low-tier teams completely shut us down not giving us an inch to move ahead, and in many of those we ended with shot attempts in the single digits, and even several entire halves with zero attempts altogether. All in all it was an improvement from our current form, not because we played any better by any means, but because Palmeiras gave us a lot more space to move around than I'm used to seeing from our league teams do to us.

>Botafogo
Turns out UEFA SISSIES couldn't do shit against CONMEBOL CHADS before they started taking our young talents away, importing ngubus to change their demographics just to win a couple world cups and becoming a bunch of plastic clubs with unlimited oil money from their new arabic overlords.
Before that, when it was real europeans playing for the european teams, our teams would fuck them up and use the window shades as a cum rag.
