Unless there is a monumental breakthrough, EVs will remain a gay little meme. The availability of both the rare earth minerals as well as grid electricity means that replacing the current numbers of ICE cars is laughably impossible. The Euros can implement the 15 minute walkable prison zones, but that shit will never work in the US and that's where the car market really is.
The best part about EVs is that all the carbon (which is actually plant food) and horrendous toxic chemicals they actually produce are WAY fucking worse that a little old V8 sports coupe.

I got free tickets to the Martinsville race a few years ago and the stands were filled with a bunch of normalfags instead of the SPAM and bread eating rednecks I remember. Massive motor homes that cost more than the average actual home were everywhere. Some guy on the way out called me "hardcore" because I was one of the few people that stayed and watched the postponed truck race 30 degree weather. The only other two guys in the entire stadium that I saw were wearing Davey Allison leather jackets. They were also the only two beer drinking fans I saw waving their driver along the entire race like the old days.

The cars are shit. The drivers are a bunch of rich boy fags. The product on track is shit. The coverage of the product on track is shit. I really don't get it.

I've been playing the fuck out of 7, because I had to replace my suddenly dying PS4 with a PS5, but yes there is a disappointment about it. They dropped a bunch of their own circuits. Only a few set grinding races. Sure, I enjoy the photo mode, but there's no engagement. I bought almost all the 10M cr.+ cars; just waiting for the last one to show up any day now. Only the Weekly Events break up the monotony, and even they are pretty meh.
It's a shame that /vgt/ threads died out back in April. Doesn't seem likely that I can blogpost about the game anymore.
I have enjoyed revisiting GT4, especially after knowing how to bypass the early grind in the early races. B-spec is great.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway: 100 Years of Racing by Ralph Kramer is pretty good and super cheap and it's a light read.
If you have a used book store in town, I'd check them out. I got a lot of great books about racing history and competitive driving for pretty cheap.

I absolutely love sports cars, especially WEC and IMSA and IndyCar, too. I also follow or at least watch a lot of minor races pretty frequently. I definitely keep up with NASCAR and F1 because they have the largest market segment and they have a ton of influence on the industry. They are both kind of memes in their own way, though. On the whole, I find NASCAR to be more entertaining, though, even if it is kind of random with a bunch of gimmicks. I am typically just disappointed with F1 because the top 5 places are usually decided on the first lap if not in qualifying unless there is a wreck or something happens in the pits and I just demand more form the pinnacle of motorsports. That being said, F1 qualifying is actually pretty good. It's usually the most exciting part of their weekend.

Phillip Island would be the most Kino by far. It would probably be the most scenic race of the season, but I'm not sure the island could handle the influx of people required for a WEC enduro.

Sydney Motorsports Park would work, but I suspect they'd get a better deal with The Bend given the owner races at Le Mans and was even a gt3 class winner last year's race.

Motorsport is a bit gay in Australia and doesn't get a whole lot of backing, but I do think it's a bit rich having a world endurance series that doesn't hold a round here, meanwhile the shit skins in the middle east get two and the Brazilian's get one.
