Some issues that are already being discussed behind the scenes about the next Club World Cup:
>FINANCIAL IMBALANCE
Some European leagues, especially LaLiga, are concerned about the financial imbalance that the Club World Cup could create. For example, clubs such as Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid could earn 120 million euros (R$759 million) if they win the title.
It is a prize similar to the Champions League, which extends throughout the calendar, while the World Cup lasts 1 month and has only 7 games for the champion. Therefore, the concern is with the teams that are left out of the World Cup, like Barcelona this season.
>NUMBER OF CLUBS
Some European clubs are advocating for the idea of increasing the number of participants from 32 to 48.
>CLASSIFICATION CRITERIA
Some Europeans want an end to the ban that limits the maximum number of clubs from the same country per ranking.
Thus, the top European teams would always normally qualify for the World Cup based on their performance in the Champions League, without leaving room for the smaller teams, such as Red Bull Salzburg. Without the veto, Barcelona and Liverpool would be in the current edition.
