Dubois is the type of fighter who won't do much to you unless he realises your catching him with big shots and he has to go first and actually fight. See the Lerena and Hrgovic fights as reference. However, this absolutely kills him against fighters who realise that they don't need to do that to beat him, they just need a good jab. Pre zhang Joyce and Usyk had/have 2 of the best jabs in the division and fucked up Dubois by just sitting behind it. Joyce was also bad at getting out of the way of Dubois punches but he had a good enough chin to just run through them, and Usyk on the other hand was far more defensively sound to let Dubois catch him with anything noteworthy (inb4 low blow cope). Two things: the amount of other weight bullies compared to Benaburger was most likely low, because 168 lbs was pretty much the most that those guys could make back then. Maybe Gavril could be considered “heavier” for 168 seeing as how he’s been at 175 recently and actually managed to drop Burgervidez (not hurt, just drop), which no other opponent at 168 has managed to do.
Second, I am not throwing out all of his wins.
