And done. £5m is lol tier price. Like, Arsenal probably paid more for that to loan Neto last year. £5m is insane for a GK with this experience who is also a CL winner and La Liga winner. It also means Raya has to actually get better to avoid being replaced.
Still, this means that maybe Chelsea will buy another GK since they got £5m back.

>Maybe for small clubs
Yes. The signings of Højlund, Zirkzee, Nuñez, Jackson, Nkunku, Solanke, Richarlison and no striker signed by Arsenal since Gabriel J (2022) suggest that the big clubs are having a very nice time in the strikers market.
Only Man City in both Alvarez and Haaland has found very good players the last couple of years.

No such thing as a CAM these days. There are basically no good midfielders these days because systembabby football means they exist purely to pass it into their designated passing area (DPA™*) or designated running zone (DRM™*).
Midfield used to require the most intelligent and creative players, but data autists put an end to that.
They don't even do gif related anymore.

Brentford fan here and spoke about this in a prior thread. Norgaard signed an extension because his family want to stay in London, so a deal like this could be possible. However he is injury prone. Spends a month on average, per-season, out. Arsenal really want another player prone to sitting out?
>>149410989
Anon, Brentford always has phases like this. When Dean Smith bailed for Villa, he took Watkins and Konsa with him. Wissa is likely going to end up at Forest and disappear from the conversation like when we sold Gray and Maupay. He's in his 30's, prone to a hissyfit if played on the left and gonna disappear for AFCON. Only time we can really cash in. We've got some solid prospects to take the role up front.

Some history for you than anon. Frank was Dean Smith's assistance coach. Smith bailed and we took the risk to put in Frank as the new manager. He lost almost the first 10 games. However Brentford committed to his vision and we got promotion two seasons later. We have for a long time, been able to promote from within and find replacements to the system.
Clayton Donaldson left for Birmingham, we got Andre Gray. After Gray, we had Maupay, Watkins, Benrahma, Toney and soon Wissa and Bryan. Spent the last season and half watching the pundits going "BUT HOW WILL THEY COPE WITHOUT TONEY?!" and look at the end result. Nobody wants to watch the damn matches involving the other 14 teams in the league.

>Nobody wants to watch the damn matches involving the other 14 teams in the league.
Ya got me. I used to watch more of them but I'd be lying if I said I still do it today.
But to defend myself, the reason why I brought up Toney was because it's not just him leaving but (maybe) Wissa and Mbeumo too. Cause iirc they were both playing quite well when Toney was still playing but after he left, other than Schade, I don't know who else could step up that were already stepping up, if that makes sense. Maybe him and Damsgaard could do it but I don't really know.

So prior to Wissa and Mbeumo, our front three in the Championship was dubbed the BMW. (Benrahma, Maupay, Watkins) and it was quickly picked apart by West Ham, Brighton and Villa when we failed to promote again Fulham. So I've heard the same sort of speculation 5 or so years ago, why I ain't worried.
Do I think we'll be pushing for Europa Conference spot again next season? No. We'll def be in a rebuild. But it's the nature of the beast when you have one of the lowest wage brackets going. Long as we Leeds go back down, I am a happy lad.

Signed a 5+1 year deal with a release clause a few months back. He'll likely end up at Spurs (who ironically wanted him before us a few years back until his knee injury) next season.

It was suspected to be mild Arthritis symptoms. Than just as he was getting match fit again, he had some other issue spring up. But like with many of our risk signings, a bit of TLC and he was showcasing his true colours last season. However, given he is balding at 25... Can Arsenal cure that? Or will he shave it off and become a complete fraud?

Frankly other clubs are watching, as too are the future Sanchos who may have the mental makeup to think this is acceptable.
Whether we want to keep these players or it’s in our best interests to sell them amicably, one thing is damn sure. The case of Sancho, Rashford, and now Garnacho acting the way they have seems to only happen at United. To say neither of the 3 would be tolerated at other clubs is the mother of all understatements. It is categorically false that their behaviour is in any way justified. Better players than these 3 assholes have been ostracized from clubs for less. If they tried this shit against presidents and chairmen like Perez, Laporta, Di Laurentiis, Levy, they would be destroyed by lunch time. Heck, just look at what the Sporting president did. Gentlemen’s agreement? Moi?? Fuck off.
And Europe’s most productive striker just gets to go into a corner and pout. And Arsenal (or whoever) will pay whatever the fuck Sporting demand. Now imagine Gyokeres was instead known as being the asshole who doesn’t know how to work an alarm clock to wake his entitled coddled man child ass up on time to even do the bare minimum expected of a guy who is in the top 1% earner compared to his peers. I mean… does anyone here even know the Sporting president’s name? It doesn’t matter. In all places except here. Where assholes are constantly enabled because this club constantly pretends like it can have both things: give in to the assholes and also be taken seriously by its contemporaries.

>Tony Bloom said; “I am absolutely thrilled to be investing in Hearts. I firmly believe in the club’s ability to disrupt the pattern of domination of Scottish football which has been in place for far too long. This great club has a bright future and I look forward to seeing that unfold in the months and years ahead.”

Honestly could make a real meme lower league team and just feed stats into an AI and ask it to pick the team based on the stats. I remember when I was a kid I sent £40 to some club that was being run on the idea that if you paid to be a member you could vote on which players started. Obviously it never actually went anywhere so was out £40. About 10 years ago I wnt and checked and actually the website was still out, logged in, nothing of note then within a few days I got an email from the site filled with porn. Kek.

https://www.footballinsider247.com/newcastle-to-accept-150m-bid-for-alexander-isak/
>Former transfer chief Keith Wyness recently revealed to Football Insider that Isak is unlikely to leave Tyneside this summer due to the club’s Champions League qualification and strong PSR standing.
>But speaking live on talkSPORT on Saturday (21 June) pundit Jason Cundy and host Andy Goldstein debated his future at Newcastle, with the former predicting him to depart the club if a huge offer of £150m was to come in from an interested team such as Liverpool or Arsenal, saying: “Money talks in football, so the question is, what would it take for Newcastle, with three years left on his contract, to buy him out of that contract? What’s the price? They’re not turning down an offer of £150million, I’ll tell you that for nothing. They are not turning it down, they’re simply not.”
Might as well shit in a bucket and ask its opinion, you'd get as much sense out of it as you would with that lot.

Germany U21 3-0 France U21
So England face Germany in the final. Sadly, Germany beat England 2-1 in the Group Stages. So I am not too hopeful. Stansfield has been rubbish but everybody has sucked him off because 'he does other things other than scoring or assisting' but that doesn't win games. McAtee has been poor but I hope he'll turn up for the final. Hutchinson was good but faded in 2nd half. Livramento was the best player after Elliot.
Hopefully we can create an upset. Final is 28th of June at 20:00 (BST). Whether the BBC will be able to sneak it onto Red Button or if C4 has it locked, I don't know. But last time I think both channels did it. But can't remember.

Every player man u signs flops immediately. Its at the level where its like an anti superpower and there are no exceptions. Whether it's them causing it, or its a case of them being so fucking stupid that they only go for garbage, it's hard to say. One thing we can say though is that Mbuemo is now or is soon to be, absolutely utter garbage. Imagine being a player these days and hearing you're a major target for man u. Its akin to being told your career is over. May as well just retire instantly, because you've either just been given the kiss of death or been outed as trash. Hilarious

The most common nationality in the PL in terms of pure number of players is English. The most common nationality in the PL in terms of minutes played is English.
This meme that the PL is 'full of foreign players' is not backed up by the stats.

the current U21 England squad is in the final of the Euros, showing great promise. How many of them will need to go overseas in the coming 2 years to have an opportunity to play? My guess is that German clubs are already lining up to sign many. History has shown this to be the case.

FM25 was meant to come out last year but because SI decided to actually try to change the game a bit (i.e, instead of a database update) by making 1. a 'better' engine and 2. adding women teams to the game they ended up creating a fucking mess and they couldn't justify releasing it last year so said 'Yeah we're delaying this till next year but it'll be worth it we promise!'.

Nah, people walked past him in the beginning. All his assists and beautiful crosses masked his terrible performance as a defender (which started the whole discussion about him being good or not since he couldn't defend but was world class going forward). This season he was pretty good defensively with some lapses here and there (just like many other defenders).
