Schengen is also irrelevant considering the high level of corruption going on in Portugal and Spain as regards the ease with which Brazilian players get a second nationality and thus Schengen and EU passport access.
The only difference maker is the access to CL soccer, which is a bit dilluted since only three Portuguese teams regularly get access to it (and with noticeable slumps). 80% of the Portuguese league teams might as well be part of the Belarussian league as far as top level UEFA club competition is involved. This does not happen with Brasileirao clubs at the Liberators' Cup even if the latter is a beer league competition when compared to the CL.
