ITT we improve FIFA Club World Cup. I'll start

-the participants are 12 european teams (basically the scraped Uefa superleague)
-hosted by rotation in England/Spain/Portugal/Greece
-every two years is fine as in gap year between WC and Euros
-two groups of 6 teams, first two from each group goes to semis
-top32 best teams from around the world invited as spectators in the stadium to have a seat and watch us play every game, each one of their players and officials shall wear a shirt corresponding of one of the two teams playing. at the end of the tournament they would get sticker albums, caps, scarves, some maybe even autographed by actual participating players, selfies are permitted too. they are not allowed to leave the host country until the tournament ends.

If you want to improve the new CWC

The issue is that the overall sportive value is low no matter what you do. It is arbitrary and a schedule burden. That makes it inferior to the old format. With that, you knew exactly who was there and why: the continental champions. It was short and sweet. It is a shame Euros never took it fully serious, although again, it could never be CL tier in the first place
The new format is nice at generating hype because you have various big names from all across the world together instead of sole continental representatives, but it is inferior in any other way
