It's universally agreed upon that Botafogo peaked in the 60s, back in the days of Garrincha, Manga, Jairzinho, Gérson and PC Caju. Now look at what Palmeiras and Botafogo accomplished in that same decade. Being generous, the greatest Botafogo in history were at least in the same level as "Academia" Palmeiras. And certainly below Santos. That makes them 3rd or a close 2nd in their prime. Then the 60s end and Botafogo fade into obscurity and spend the next 6 decades as Rio's fourth club by a wide margin.

I'm not even a porco. But saying Botafogo have "more history" than Palmeiras is just ridiculous.
