Did you bring a radio? Look around for signs at the track to see if they broadcast the play by play on FM radio. You might also be able to use your phone. You can use regular earbuds to listen under ear muffs, but without the ear muffs you can't hear anything. Bring a radio is the single greatest thing I have done for attending races.

Well, I'm really glad that race went off well. It seems like pretty much everything they have done at Sepang this year (SRO, MotoGP and now Super GT) has been good and hopefully we will see an Asian le Mans Series event on the calendar and maybe even a WEC race eventually. Find a series that stops at one of these tracks and you'll have a good time. In my experience, IMSA is the most fun and IndyCar is a close second, but NASCAR, Trans-Am and SRO are all great, too.
Also, just look for whatever is close to you, even if it's a small oval or drag strip, it's still a fun time. I wouldn't drive 5 hours and pay $100 to see the cars at my local track, but 20 minutes and $10 is totally worth it.
