What is the worst championship logo and why is it WEC?
Lmao that fat marshal stumbling
>>149445973Why do you think that?
>>149446193Cause the font is too round and it hasn't changed since the championship was invented, apart from some colour accents here and there.
Most other major series have a more squared look to them, which I think fits well. The WEC logo is so out of place compared to everything else.

It's kind of a clever idea, but yes I agree it looks like it's from the 1960s
>>149444560>>149441585Did you bring a radio? Look around for signs at the track to see if they broadcast the play by play on FM radio. You might also be able to use your phone. You can use regular earbuds to listen under ear muffs, but without the ear muffs you can't hear anything. Bring a radio is the single greatest thing I have done for attending races.
If anyone know the radio stations for track broadcasts, post em.

Two separate 1 hour long sessions for today is one thing but I don't think it'll be smart of me to rawdog it for 3 hours straight tomorrow. The Huracans, GR86s, BRZ and LC500 are the most painful ones, the rest are relatively ok
>>149446435Nope. I honestly don't think they're broadcasting anything via FM radio, but I can't check either since I've not brought a pair of earphones or headphones. I know I can never go back, but I can still remember.
>>149455018I remember being at the Singapore GP in 22 and the humidity and steam from the ground was just insane when everything was drying up after the rain
Going to my first proper circuit race has exposed a few things for future trips. Earplugs or headphones for one, a poncho would be handy now that I'm looking at your picture, possibly a radio and some sunscreen because damn the heat was intense yesterday
Also, these were what I observed from Day 1 regarding this event
>ProsRelatively easy to get to, entry was pretty straightforward and the layout of the place was simple
Lots of food and drinks and cheap too
Great viewing and photography spots especially the tower at the hairpin
Crowd was made up of genuine motorsports fans which made for great vibes with many nips even flying in from Japan. In contrast to the crowd for the GP in Singapore which was mostly comprised of casuals
Tickets were really cheap relative to F1
>ConsAdmission to the Pit Walk was a bit messy
No commentary playing over the speakers on the circuit
TVs and big screens were pretty tiny so it was hard to follow what was going on
Little in the way of team merch, but I can't blame the organisers but rather the teams for not setting up booths here
>>149456026>Earplugs or headphones>poncho (always in the backpack)>radio>sunscreenThat's a pretty damn good list to start with.
>Lots of food and drinks and cheap too Great! Every event in America that stuff is really expensive.
>Crowd was made up of genuine motorsports fansYeah, sports car racing brings out the real ones. Everyone is super stoked to be around people who are interested in sports car racing. (No one watches racing in real life.)
>Tickets were really cheap relative to F1 That's good. What was the USD equivalent?
NASCAR Cup and IndyCar are about $150 for one day and Petit le Mans is about $175 for the entire event (Thursday-Saturday)
>Admission to the Pit Walk was a bit messy At Petit, it's a full on scrum these days.
>No commentary playing over the speakers on the circuitWeird, hopefully they will have something for the race.
>TVs and big screens were pretty tiny so it was hard to follow what was going on Even the mega screen at Bristol is kind of small. Small bird watching binoculars help.
>Little in the way of team merchOdd, I figured the nips would bring a ton of stuff to punt.

>>149457640I think my biggest single expense so far has been the merch, everything else has been pretty damn cheap to be honest. The hotel and flights were just a tad less than $350 SGD in total
Also, I'm actually bloody knackered from yesterday and it's a relief that the rain's come in this morning which would hopefully entail a decently cool and breezy day ahead
I clocked over 18,000 steps yesterday and both my legs are shot. I'm actually surprised at how tiring it's been since I consider myself to be a decently fit person
>>149457659Yeah no joke, they're surprisingly tall by Asian standards and that's further exaggerated by the massive platform heels that they wear

>>149461187for me when i went to rallies live, you can hear the car in the forest like 3km away, slowly creeping closer, feels like a fucking nuke coming your way, then it blasts past with earth shaking, its absolutely special, and i recommend to everyone to atleast see one stage of a WRC event
>>149461200for me it's sitting in Road America turn 5 and you hear the cars coming down the long straight and rapidly going down the gears for the T5 braking zone, and then floor it up the hill under the bridge but then shift down again for turn 6

Find a series that stops at one of these tracks and you'll have a good time. In my experience, IMSA is the most fun and IndyCar is a close second, but NASCAR, Trans-Am and SRO are all great, too.
Also, just look for whatever is close to you, even if it's a small oval or drag strip, it's still a fun time. I wouldn't drive 5 hours and pay $100 to see the cars at my local track, but 20 minutes and $10 is totally worth it.

>>149465428Yeah, it has a piss weak motor, too. I bet that one was LS swapped or something.
>>149465413That caught me out too until I realized it's a maximum order of 300 per person lol
Here with danebro and he suggested me not to get paddock access cause of how small the paddock here is and the grid walk would've required a paddock access ticket
>>149465482woah i'm in that image! looked more like a few thousand lol
>>149465473>dentists and that one brick house at the exit of that high-speed right-hander
>>149465464It's doable, but you need a few hours of relaxation and refreshments every now and then. You need to take your time.
That Edeka supermarket in the village literally saved our asses.
>>149465413All the scaffolding ones on the downhill towards Eau rouge yes, not the one facing backwards though, and then the two next to the new concrete stand. You can also see across the track that the two temp ones at the chicane are put up
>>149465473The customs house is still there.
>>149465473I still boot up Project Cars 2 sometimes to drive the original layout. It must have been dangerous as hell IRL
>>149465531Do it in AMS2, its better in every way, costs only 5โฌ + creamapi to pirate all dlc.
>>149465493>it's a maximum order of 300 per person???? the fuck they doing?
i went through the paddock, was alright. could see the lambos getting ready and testing their engines for the race earlier, that was cool. not sure i'd get it again the next time i go. not much to see from the gt3 teams
>>149465531>>149465545I wish someone who knew what he was doing recreated the one that went near my city
Protip: Paddock access is free if you can draw on a computer
For me? Its the Rowe BMW.

>Larsonโs car failed inspection twice, finally passing on the third attempt. They narrowly avoided having to a serve a pass-through penalty, but the two inspection failures will still result in some penalties for the team.
>First, Larsonโs car chief has been ejected and will not be able to be present at the track for the remainder of the race weekend. They have also lose their pit stall selection, meaning they will get whatever stall is left after the rest of the field picks.

Max is fully exposed and totally washed, kek.
>>149465973Larson also exposed, kek.
>>149469944That track was designed as a shameless cash grab for Fag 1 to claim some prestige by association with the history of (superior) America open wheel racing.
Remember that time F1 couldn't even make tiers that worked there? Hell, Firestone made tires for the Eurofags to run the Monza oval in the late 1950s.
KWAB series.
>>149471906I don't remember F1 ever making "tiers" Mr. punjabi rape baby
>>149472212Oh, boy, you deliberately misunderstood my meaning, all my incredibly valid points are thoroughly refuted.
Go back and get another reddit account banned.
>>149472381I fully understood your meaning of being deliberately misleading and avoiding mentioning the name of the company that supplies the entire IMSA field to make it seem like it was anyone else's fault they can't make tires schizo redditor.
>>149472741Honestly, I just couldn't remember which manufacturer it was and I couldn't be bothered to look it up. That doesn't make it any less embarrassing for F1 and it certainly doesn't mean that the Indy Grand Prix circuit wasn't a shameless cash grab for F1 to try and ride the coat tails of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing and it certainly wasn't "designed" for F1 the wat Sepang was, so it's a false equivalence on your part.
>it's still digging
You could at least bury your shit in that hole instead of leaving it on the road
