I am not quite a Galaxy Lifelong as I was born a few years before the Galaxy started existing. But I enjoyed watching LAFC and the Sounders go down in flames and watching Inter Messi flop against PSG was also enjoyable.

Plenty of normies side with any club from their country because they feel represented by all of them but don't feel fully represented by a single club. It's more or less a no-go among "real" fans.
To a certain degree, it's normal to feel conflicted, though: like any sane human, I dislike Bayern and would love to see their monopoly on German football break. I would be more than willing to see the Bundesliga undergo a slump in international success. But as long as Bayern have that monopoly, I can't fully enjoy seeing them lose against other clubs in the CL. On one hand, it is funny, and they still are Bayern. But on the other, the rest of us look all the dumber if Bayern lose internationally but continue to dominate our league. If they win both Bundesliga and CL, no one can mock us

If the top euros don't want to participate, leave them out, but bring euro clubs from smaller leagues that would never have the chance to play in it. This tournament would far more soulful with Club Brugge vs Inter Miami, Malmo vs Fluminense, etc
