>>149572225How do you reckon he'll fare against Dubious the second time? I know people are saying he's vulnerable and Dubious is a new and improved version of himself but I'm not really seeing it. Beating Big Baby Miller and a past-prime AJ fighting extremely recklessly doesn't really show to me that he's improved a ton. He still leaves himself open a lot and quits too easily.
>>149572279I think itll be more competitive and will probably go to decision because dubois has shown to be less of a heartlet recently, but usyk should still clearly win unless hes aged overnight. probably will look like AJ vs Usyk 2, more competitive than the first fight but still being 8/9 rounds for usyk by the end of the fight
>>149572356Thing is Dubois could hardly win a round the first time they fought.
>dubois has shown to be less of a heartlet recentlyBut none of the guys he fought challenged him like Usyk did, or even how Joyce did. I guess Dubois vs Hrgovic he weathered the storm and showed good endurance there, but took a ton of punishment in the process. Hrgovic has also looked trash though for a while now. I'm just not convinced on Dubois's improvements. And Usyk has yet to show any signs that he's really aging in there. I'm sure Dubois is feeling more confident this time around, but that doesn't really guarantee him anything against a guy like Usyk. I think an Usyk by decision does seem likely, but I could also see Dubois taking a knee again. I am factoring in the possibility Dubois does actually pull off some kind of stoppage upset. Usyk's not incinvicible by any means. He's talented but he's playing a dangerous game by continuing to fight these young guys as he's smaller and aging. Hasn't shown signs of aging yet, but he's playing a really dangerous game here.
>>149572396hrgovic definitely challenged him, not in the same way usyk did but it was definitely a tough fight for him to pull through. Im not one of those people who bought into Dwyers "heir apparent" hype with Hrgo but i think your underselling the quality of that win for Dubois.
the main reason i dont think theyre will be an upset however is because i still dont think Dubois is good at avoiding jabs, usyk will be peppering him all night long
>>149572444Dubois is wide open and Usyk has a great jab. It's a misleading jab, but when it can even befuddle giants like Fury you know it's a good one. I'm harsh on Hrgobitch, you're right. It's just he seemed like a guy with potential, I can see why Dwyer viewed him so hopefully. But he's got some kind of mental problem holding him back. It is a solid win, the best of his three most recent fights. I don't take the Joshua win as seriously because AJ chose to fight like a retard in that fight, and even then Dubois could have gotten knocked out with how reckless he was fighting as well. He got caught with a big shot before landing his own. This lack of defense that Dubois shows is not going to work well for him in the long run. He has cumulative damage. Same thing that happened to Joyce will happen to him if he keeps up at this rate. That's why I think he's still vulnerable to a stoppage by Usyk. The first one didn't happen by accident. You can't just eat power jabs like that.
>>149572356One thing you can always count on is a brit being a heartlet
>yarde vs. benavidez set for November

>David picasso vs. Kyonosuke Kameda added to the Pacquiao/Barrios undercard

Good card, have heard rumors Turki is looking to put Itauma on it too

>>149572279I also think Dubois hasn't improved much, aside from maybe mentally
he was taking so many flush shots to the face from Hrgovic, no defense at all. AJ got clipped early and never really recovered, so the rest of the fight wasn't really much of a test for Dubois
unless Usyk aged overnight, all Dubois has is a puncher's chance IMO. but he is a strong puncher, so it's possible he'll get lucky
>>149578121his fight vs Beterbiev was fun, I don't mind seeing him get another big fight

Chavez definitely had the resources to get this in order but he waited until he had already violated his Visa to try to fix it. ICE now is going back and reviewing visa overstays, visiting their houses to pick them up.

>>149591104Well said. The X factor is definitely more on whether Usyk has declined since the Fury fights or not. Seeing as how he still whooped Fury a second time, I doubt it. But "aging overnight" and all that. He's a small guy with a lot of mileage and can't go on forever. One of these fights he's not gonna look himself. Dubois does hit hard and doesn't care if he gets hit coming in. I do think Dubious will be more aggressive, but that might just wind up in him getting knocked out again.

>>149601318Parker vs Usyk would have been a much more interesting fight. They're definitely throwing Parker under the bus to prop up the autismobuck and luke coreystein.
>>149601511It was bad enough already, but with this new Luke Feary talk, Fisheyes Warren is sabotaging Parker's career to prop up these losers.
>>149601814Could be worse for Parker. His last three fights were on Saudi cards against Wilder, Zhang, and Bakole, of which he won all three. He had to make some good money from those fights. Part of me feels like he's complicit in how he keeps getting snubbed out of the big title fights. Maybe he doesn't particularly want to fight Usyk and is waiting until he loses or steps down. I think Parker might be biding his time because he doesn't give me those "hungry" vibes of some of the other younger guys. I think he's content, might even be getting step aside money.
>>149602115supposedly parker should face the winner of the undisputed fight because hes a mandatory

Artur Beterbiev saying Bivol is delaying the trilogy fight
>I received hundreds of questions about the third fight, that’s why I decided to answer here.
>As you know, the first fight for the absolute champion title took place in October last year. After five years of attempts to unify the belts, it was still successful. The day after the first fight, we agreed on a rematch, which was to take place within four months, despite the fact that I was after the operation, and my coach and doctor were categorically against such an early rematch.
>After the second fight, I immediately showed interest in an early third fight, and at first there were rumors about the fight in August, but my opponent said in an interview that he wanted to hold it in late autumn, then - at the end of the year, and now - it is completely unknown when.
>Dima, how old do I have to be so that we can fight for the third time?
>>149617721I hope that isn't the case and it's something else going on, but damn, I only just realised they fought in February and both are going to be doing nothing until this fight happens. A whole year for a rematch while everyone else at the top of LH is stuck waiting for their shot. At least Turki is now around so the other guys ranked high can get huge paydays fighting eachother rather than being afraid of missing out if they take a loss before going for the belts.
But then again, if this fight is supposed to happen in Russia, then of course they're delaying things. It'll be a shitshow if the war is still going. Should keep pretending to be Canadian instead.
>>149583085Why hasn't Chavez Sr just disowned him at this point, what a fucking waster
Imagine being five foot nine and shit at fighting.
>>149618694honestly, why even bother making it in Russia?
AFAIK neither Bivol nor Beterbiev are huge mainstream stars in Russia. and they don't live there anymore.
it's just weird to try to organize this match in a country that's at war

>>149619568Turki has had some bad ideas for spectacles that keep failing. This sounds like another. If it's actually the fighter's idea then they're both idiots.
>>149621230You just know this Saudi turd is already frustrated and ready to quit, Riyadh season be damned
>>149621316It's a shame that he seems to be such a big fan of boxing while having so many dumb ideas. Still, he got some of the biggest matchups to actually happen at last, so he'll always be good for that. Feary would have fought Chisora and Wilder again instead of going up against Usyk if Turki wasn't around. But he needs to reign the spectacles in and just focus on making the biggest fights as soon as they can happen.
>>149621533He claims to be this big fan of boxing but time and time again he’s revealed his true colors as a DKSABr as both a boxing fan and an organizer. Yes, he organized some big unifications but he’s also made some really poor choices as well. Putting Dana in charge of his boxing organization is the most DKSABr move possible. I think he’s a phony who just tells people what they want to hear. Nothing about that guy is genuine. He took part in a violent government coup, threatened people’s families, but now he’s mister friendly and looooooves sports! and video games, remember fatal fury? lol. He’s clearly learning on the job which wouldnt be possible without all the money. Take the money away and he’s a complete shmuck. With the same budget I’d trust your average schizo here to put on a better event than some random sheikh. This guy gets way too much credit, he’s out of his element and has no idea what he’s doing, but at least we got a couple decent fights out of it.
>>149622875How much longer will Turki keep it up for? Ultimately it's all been to try and establish tourism and make people forget about both his, and his country's shitty past. Wasn't there some kind of set date for when they hope to have changed their image? And I don't think his boxing idea with Dana will do well. They're trying to pretend like it will be the best fighting the best, but all it will end up being is just yet another title in the mix, only this one will be exclusive to their own small roster who won't risk being embarassed by the others that actually have a history.
>>149623682The plan was to build up Riyadh season up until 2030(?) when Saudi is slated to host the world cup, so the plan was always 6-7ish years I imagine. But I could see him quitting within another year or two with how unprofitable it’s been and if Turki gets anymore frustrated. His patience already is wearing thin as things never really seem to go his way in boxing, which he’s learning the hard way. He thought if he just threw a bunch of money at the problem they would have complete control but boxing has more moving parts than that. He underestimated how difficult and draining it is to organize these big sporting events, and the only way it’s possible is because of his infinite money glitch. It’s like cheating in a game that’s very difficult and your skill still cant compensate for it, but you cheated in 99 lives and max health so you’ll just keep trying till you get frustated and quit. He lacks the experience to make it in this industry and thinks money can solve any problem but it’s never that simple. Now he’s spoiled these fighters and they’ll be unwilling to take lower paydays, they’re showing up and putting on sparring matches, so he gets made to look like a fool. So now you offer some measly bonus to try and incentivize a more interesting fight? That’s a desperation move if Ive ever seen one. You would never see Arum, Haymon, Warren or even fucking Ben Shalom resort to that kind of bargaining. Turki’s a chump and wont make it to 2030. 1-2 more years and he quits.
>>149623682You have to look at the big picture. Turki owns part or all of Queensbury, Ring Magazine, and DAZN. Top Rank, Boxxer, and PBC are struggling to find broadcast partners.
Even if Turki pulls back some, there's not anywhere else to go.
>>149623682>And I don't think his boxing idea with Dana will do wellI reckon it will go about as well as Power Slap. Not to mention Dana has tried to get involved in boxing on multiple attempts and failed each time. Now he has a very rich boss but it’s not gonna pan out for him in the long term. Dana should focus on trying to save the UFC, not waste his time with boxing. He can be the big fish in the little pond in MMA, but with boxing it’s a much bigger body of water infested with sharks, not minnows.
>>149624061Turki’s not going to pull out some. He’s going to throw a hissy fit and pull out completely.
>but boxing will be worse off!not his problem! He doesnt need boxing. This is why I warned people years ago that this was going to be bad for boxing in the long run if they get reliant on Saudi funding. They’re not gonna stick around because this is a money sink for them. They’re only doing this for sportswashing reasons. They’re not trying to make boxing profitable. When they feel they’ve done enough, they’re going to unceremoniously pull out and the current establishment will have to start all over again. They can kick the can down the road a couple more years and reap in the short term profits, but there is no long term plan. They’ll just have to cross that road when they get there, but yes it’s gonna be a rocky transition with how spoiled people have been with these exhorbitant saidi paydays. Only a fool would think that would go on forever without the saudis getting anything valuable in return out of improving the profile of their country. Once they feel they’ve done enough, they’re outta here, and it’s coming sooner than many people realize if youve reading between the lines with the things Turki is saying. He’s not happy with how this whole thing is going, and I dont think its giving them the tourism surge they were hoping for. Those saudi events are a fucking ghost town. They’re getting scammed essentially.
>>149624287Turki is the current establishment now. He's probably the single most powerful person in the sport since Don King in the 90s, if not even more so. Even if he pulls out in 2030, so what? The alternatives aren't even going to make it 2028
>>149624440Don King built up his empire from nothing, just like Bob Arum, just like Frank Warren. Turki’s presence is entirely artificial, he didnt build anything and none of it is going to last because he has no interest to profit off boxing like those other guys. He’s using boxing to boost the profile of his country and raise tourism. That’s it. He doesnt need boxing though, and if he pulls out, that’s not his problem. The sport didnt end when Don King became irrelevant. Someone else will come along and fill in the blanks. But yes, this is why you dont get addicted to easy money and handouts because there’s always a catch. Turki’s presence is temporary. He is an outsider. He is not going to keep flushing money down the drain if he’s not getting anything out of it. Nobody runs a business out of the love of their heart. Once Turki has accomplished his goal, which was to raise the profile of Saudi Arabia, then the easy saudi money goes poof. He’s barely been in the sport for two years and things arent going as smoothly as he hoped, and now the seams are starting to show in his whole operation.

>>149626979I've never watched him before so I've got no clue if he's even near Catterals level, suppose we'll know after this fight
>>149627056Well that answers that. He'll have to hope he can build up some British beefs and get an IBO title thrown at him. Would be funny if Benn lose the Eubank Jr rematch harder, and decides to try and target this one instead. Then he'll be the one under weight limit stipulations.
>>149625112Don't know why you act like turki is the first person who is thinking short term with boxing. The fact remains regardless of his intentions that he is positioned to be the last significant power standing. What he does after that is impossible to know
>>149627542>>149627707Man was the fight this shit that you guys stopped scoring after the first round? I forgot it was even happening so I didn't tune in.
>The fact remains regardless of his intentions that he is positioned to be the last significant power standing. What kind of loaded statement is that. That's not a fact, and there are plenty of other powerful people in the world that could step in at any moment. The fuck are you on about. Boxing was running fine before Turki showed up and it will find its way after he leaves.
>>149633616i just started scoring in the other thread since more people seemed to be watching there , but yeah it was a pretty shit fight like most Catteral fights are. Still, he could be interesting and pick up a few belts at Welterweight now that Ennis has moved considering that other than Haney/Norman, the other potential beltholders (Barrios/old man Pac, Donovan/Crocker assuming that the rematch is for the IBF belt) arent really any much better than him right now

>>149633616>That's not a fact, and there are plenty of other powerful people in the world that could step in at any moment.Yes yes I know at any moment an angel could descend from heaven and decide to run the sport. But in the real world the traditional powers (broadcasters) are departing the sport and have not been replaced. The last traditional broadcaster (ESPN) has their last date on the schedule and now TR is sending their fighters to club shows or Japan because there is nowhere else from them and nobody wants them.
Boxing is in a much more precarious position now than it was when Turki was first on the scene. That doesnt mean it will stop existing if/when he leaves but he has the amount of power needed to reshape the sport now. The alternatives are almost all gone.

>>149659126Wow, do you have a link to those rumours? I've only heard of the initial news story breaking, nothing about what he actually might have been involved in with the cartel.
A reminder that Joseph Parker also had a little trouble, where though he was never charged, it really seems like he was involved in helping a gang clean their money.

I have never changed or transported money for the defendants. >>149664714>"If I found Mike Tyson in bed with me missus, I'd tuck him in!"I meant embarass himself purely in boxing, not his personal life.
>>149664422I think it has more to do with the Shakur gaining the reputation of being a boring fighter. Notice how Turki is starting to give bonuses to incentivize knockouts so he can have more exciting fights, but it's not really gonna work out for him as boxers already get paid well enough without the bonuses and aren't going to fight more risky if it isn't part of their style just to get a measly bonus.
And yeah there is certainly some favoritism there because Hamzah Sheeraz is middle eastern. if he was a white/black/asian/mexican I don't think Turki would be trying to push him so hard. But I think it's moreso Turki thinks bumlanga and sheeraz will be a more entertaining fight, probably because of Bumlanga's meme reputation of being a KO artist, but imo the fight will probably be just as boring and go to a decision.
>>149664714Careful posting this webm. Jannies don't seem to understand it's boxing legend Ricky Hatton and just think it's some random gay weirdo. I've even seen some (brit) posters here claim it was fake lol.

Anyone who thinks Berlanga isn't a bum is a complete casual. I genuinely feel like Turki is one of the only people in boxing who doesn't understand how bad Bumlanga is. Most boxing fans were already aware years ago. I've never seen Bob Arum just straight up drop someone like that that was supposed to be a rising star. Four robberies in a row, that's why. Berlanga has shown time and time again he has no potential as a fighter, even his own fans boo him. If anything this fight only exists to just prop up Sheeraz. Yet I went to look at the odds and it's essentially being sold as a 55/45 fight. I guess people are doubtful Sheeraz can win with how lackluster the fight was against Adames. But Berlanga has never put on a good performance against anyone, that's the funny thing.

In one of the calls intercepted by the FGR between December 2021 and June 2022, it is described how "El Nini" ordered a member of the criminal group to be tied up and hanged, so that the boxer could beat him "like a punching bag.">The evidence presented includes wiretaps and immigration records shared by US agencies. The investigation also stems from a complaint filed in November 2019 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) related to arms trafficking.>The boxer entered the United States legally in August 2023, with a visa that expired in February 2024. Imo though Sheeraz is being positioned to win, the bias is there. Doesn't mean he will, but he's also the better fighter. Bumlanga just really hasn't done much of anything other than get gift decisions since he stopped crushing cans. Canelo was mostly toying with him and carried him to a decision after he got knocked down. Sheeraz is mostly unproven, but I said it before, I've seen him do more in one fight than I have in bumlanga's entire career. People think bumlanga is a KO artist when really he's not. I thought Tanaka did enough to win, and that a rematch after another fight or two would be fun. Tanaka came back strong even after being knocked down. It was close and a good fight, but I thought Tanaka should have kept his belt.
I remember this result feeling wrong as well, but I wasn't 100% absorbed in it at the time, and have no interest in rewatching it. Good luck to you if you fancy it. I just went to the end of the video and the guys at ringside disagreed with the decision as well for whatever that's worth.
