Yes.

Whenever the national team plays, we just cross our fingers, close our eyes and wait until it is over. We don't even expect to win anything anymore, we just hope it won't happen again.

If I could, I'd just withdraw the national team from every single match.

We bankrupted our country to host a championship and this is how we were rewarded.

The cherry on top was that Brazil indebted themselves for 10 generations to build stadiums and host the WC only to get to experience the Huelocaust.

The brazilian samba magic was killed that night some say forever.

Mané Garrincha, Fonte Nova, Arena das Dunas, Arena Pantanal, Arena Pernambuco, Arena Amazônia and Lula's personal gift to Corinthians.
The works in Beira-Rio and Arena da Baixada were notably cheap, and most of the newly built stadiums (Itaquerão and Fonte Nova) are useless dumpsters built in shithole states that are abandoned because nobody plays there.

In South Korea, eSports and baseball are more popular than football, so I'm always surprised at how obsessed Brazilians and Latin Americans are with football.

If I remember correctly, Brazil is also pretty good at volleyball and Argentina is good at basketball. I guess the reason why Brazilians were so shocked is because Brazil and Germany are equal fooball powerhouses in terms of history and achievement. So they couldn't accept that they lost unilaterally to Germany by a score of 7-1 at Brazil's home. It's probably similar to the highest tension when South Korea and Japan play in Asia. If one of the teams loses by just one point, the coach of that team could be fired.

No one cares IRL. Any result that’s not a final gets forgotten very quickly by normal people. And Brazil hasn’t relevant for over 20 years now, it’s the expectation that they get knocked out. Somehow bookmakers still pip them as favourites for every world cup.

Sort of, they mostly just kinda don't care about Seleção as much anymore. They're more invested in their local clubs now, sort of the inverse of Argentina

Funny thing about Argentina, there were many Brazilians who nonetheless were rooting for Germany in the final because as bad as 7-1 was, they would've never come back from that AND Argentina winning the final on their turf. Never has a people been this cucked in sports before or since

Argentina can't be our rivals because they are simply not in our level. They might hate us, spite us, curse us, think about us all day. But by the time their junta threatened Peruvians and kidnapped Cruyff so that they could have a chance at winning a World Cup, we already had three of them. Right the other day, they had as many World Cups as France and Uruguay. The only national teams that sit next to Brazil are Italy and Germany, countries we have no bad feelings towards.

This might have seemed like a big deal at the moment but it really wasn't once the dust settled, they were never supposed to make semifinals in the first place an were considered very heavy underdogs. It's only notable because the score was slightly higher then the 3-0 that was expected.
It feels like 40 year old insecure Euros (usually not even Germans) are the only ones who try and still bring it up like it's relevant to anyone and are butthurt not having the most World Cups. If this board's Euros didn't keep spamming it weekly I'd forget it existed, like the NS Mura anon or people who bring up Dobson still

That's kind of the point though? That Uruguay example is even weaker of an example since it was a close game no one here was alive for. It feels less people actually care about a largely injured underdog losing a semifinal this badly and it's more an insecure way for Euros and others to cope over not having the most World Cup wins by punching up with another happening (and Americans know how to spot internet punch ups quite well). That the 1950 World Cup was brought up similarly before reaffirms this.
In the NFL we had a Super Bowl (not even a semifinal like this was) where Denver lost 55-10. Counting a touchdown as a rough goal equivalent this is statistically worse then 7-1 (6 pt difference vs 6.43 pt difference) and in a championship. No one brings this up every thread on the sport. There's no 4chan banner of a gold miner fucking a horse. There's no trying to make this like it's some unprecedented happening that's never been seen. Even with the homefield shit we had a similar scenario with the Vikings a few years ago.
Both bad losses, but one isn't spammed as this all-time happening because there isn't this weird self-insert as a group culture that World Cup has. It comes off as an inferiority complex the more people can't let this go and it's obnoxious.

yea i replied to you again because you're balantly lying about the impeachment having anything to do with that match
do you really think that the politicians or anyone give af about that? brazilians care so much that they voted for a PT candidate again
your links are in spanish some are not even working and they provide no proof about anything you said about the 7-1
i think you have some personal reason for not wanting the odebrecht case to be investigated
bye now
