>>149629333Kek, they are sponsoring even the green flags? What a stupidity, desu. The best thing they could do is change the end stage flags' color, it would be even better if they used a color that isn't either yellow, green, blue, black or white.

You can screech autistically about muh hybrid but the fully ICE 2017 WRC regs killed privateer involvement.
Those cars were already a million EUR per season. The hybridless RC1s of this season are already way below the million mark, and the new regs aim for around 400k per car per season (while a latest rc2 is around 300k) and the new regs will probably use the same torque sensor to balance out ice and hybrid cars

I was also looking at your drive from Singapore and it's about as long timewise as Petit is for me. The A2H looks like much of the interstate highway system in the US. Clearly, flying is better, but here it is way easier to drive simply because getting from the airport to the track would basically require renting a car and by that point, the cost is prohibitive.

I really don't know how it stacks up to other purpose-built circuits but relative to the Marina Bay Street Circuit, it's really straightforward and you literally just walk straight from the entrance to the pit grandstand and there you are
The tower at the hairpin was pretty amazing and provided a great view of the cars braking and accelerating out of the final hairpin. Lots of photographers camping up there and Ronnie Quintarelli was even up there for a good bit during FP2
I feel bad for not posting concessions but the only thing I consumed at the circuit was a massive cup of Thai milk tea. Now, he may get some credit on how good he actually is, I mean, he got a podium with the worst car in the current F1 grid, and not to mention his campaigns with other teams both at F1 and at the feeder series and his Le Mans win. I'm surprised and happy for him.

It was pretty decent if you are happy with SVG completely dominating, which I guess I am.
For me the best part was that there was some good old fashioned door banging and they are getting much better at controlling the cars after a shunt in the corner and not immediately having a Macau style pile up. Which isn't to say it didn't happen.
I missed Xfinity yesterday because I straight up forgot I cleaned up the house and made dinner instead of watching racing. D^:>โ

>>149656677I agree, also seemed like the most realistic racing in the movie (except for the fireworks stuff)
>>149657007>(except for the fireworks stuff)Okay but they actually should launch the fireworks low so they bounce off the cars and burn on the track down the back straight, that would be so fucking sick.
>>149656219This looks crazy cuz of the angle, but this is probably about as tame as a high speed crash can get in NASCAR. Top speeds in Chicago aren't that high, and there were tires to absorb. Pocono brake failure hits are on a completely different level.
>>149654545means a brake disc. typically in the US they're called rotors.
>>149657050I agree, we should write a letter to Mr. Imsa with that suggestion
Why did Alex Palou forget how to drive at the end of today's race?
>>149656219Also, the takeaway from this hit isn't that NASCAR waited to throw the yellow which affected the race, it's that they waited to throw the yellow when one of their drivers took a massive head on impact. This is a safety failure first and foremost. They need people in every corner to relay impacts.

>>149657705Probably gets a podium with a mistake free pit stop
>>149657780I thought it was a San Diego street course? Either way, a street course belongs on the schedule. I hate the NASCAR fags who shitted on Chicago. It was so much more entertaining than like half the ovals on the track. If they ever build a proper car my opinion may change though. For this car I love road and street courses. It's not the car's fault that SVG is so much better than everyone else. I suspect his reign will be short lived tho, too many competitive dudes in the garage. They'll practice and improve.
>>149657780If they coat the lapposts in PJ1 now, they'll be nice and slick for next year.
Having slept on it, I do think SVG did Connor a little dirty. They aren't just teammates, they literally share the exact same sponsors. They run inverse Weathertech and Red Bull schemes lol. Shane ran him wide, which is not dirty for the win, but if I'm Connor I return that favor the next chance I get.
But OTOH I do like the Shane goes for the win when it's there. Same thing Denny and Larson do on ovals, Ross too. Racing deal, but for buds maybe a bit much? I dunno man.
>>149657996I keep hearing either Philly or San Diego
I kind of wish they'd come up to Seattle, we don't get much racing love up here except for PIR.
>>149658008I guess then the lampposts would be easier to climb with goodyears, and harder with firestones?
>>149658032Give me San Diego over any other option just because it won't rain, and if it does, street courses are officially cursed.
Prediction: Suarez lands a ride soon (or already has), and when he doesn't make the playoffs, the make the swap and Zilisch finishes the year in the 99.
Cup rides are very limited, maybe Kaulig? But my hope he is that Daniel retains a sponsor and is able to take Zilisch's JRM ride. Let him rebuild confidence in Xfinity and make another run at cup. To use a baseball term, he may just be a AAAA guy tho.
>>149658083Tho no swap occurs if it's the Zilly seat obv, he's gonna run for a JRM championship. Just thinking outlout.
So from what I can gather, Bowman and Bubba had issues, and Bowman talked shit, but after talking to Bubba he realized it was an accident and there isn't actually bad blood. Joey was mad cuz he confronted Ross, and Ross told him he wrecked his ass on purpose and was unapologetic about it. And /ourguy/ Cody took a brutal hit.
Flew completely under the radar for the most part, but KyleB was a break or two away from winning today. He had a ton of speed, and was one of the fastest cars in the last stint. I don't know what happened to him, but he spins out on seemingly every oval and he was so close on a street circuit. I do not think Kryle is washed just yet. And I don't think the RCR 8 is that far off. Might even happen at Sonoma. I still believe bros.
SVG is a legit nut kick to so many teams. Guys like Allmendinger and McDowell have their rides because they can get their team in the playoffs on a road course. He's makes these signings a complete waste of money. I would go all in on Austin Hill's ability at plate races before I'd go in on anyone else's ability at a road course (minus Zil obv, but same team). Trackhouse kinda has road courses locked down for the foreseeable future.
Dinger and Busch both deserve better cars.
>>149658306except Dinger and McDowell can both win on ovals too if they have the car. Dinger was tearing it up on xfinity ovals before Kaulig shit the bed starting in 23
>>149658462>except Dinger and McDowellIf lightning strikes in a bottle sure, but neither of these drivers, or their teams, will ever be the fastest car on an oval. Their job exists for the chance to win road races and make the playoffs and get the monies. SVG, and Zilisch next year, make this plan shit. Get a plate ringer like Austin Hill, or a short track ringer like Majeski. Get someone who is great at one discipline, the sport no longer rewards those who are pretty good at everything. And if you get an oval guy, he has to win.

Not even mentioning that IRC had only a few live stages, wrc does all. If you only have a few then you are able to select the technologically less challenging ones to ensure the best broadcast, when you have all of them live you cant cherry pick and say no to ones where coverage is shit
>>149653936It's not the same as watching live but I appreciate anyway.
>>149653975Thanks for the brofix. I always mess up with my engrish, so I don't mind if anyone here corrects me.
>It was pretty decent if you are happy with SVG completely dominatingI don't mind seeing SVG dominating at the road courses as long as there is good racing in between it, since there's not much to do to stop him (and also because I like him as well. I really rooted for him on Xfinity last year). As far as I've watched from the race, it was quite ok, with some action between the drivers, but nothing too special. Sonoma will probably be boring to watch, and now the best road racing at the Cup might be on Glen or at the Roval.
>>149658188Actually, the #8 improved pretty well on the road courses. Unfortunately he messed up very early on Mexico, but he was very close to win at COTA if he didn't have the accident with Bell that killed the pace of the car. His car is also fast on long run average on practice sessions. Their best performances so far were on the races with the most practice time. I also see some evolution on Autism's #3, especially at the long runs. This might be only copium from me, but I want to believe that RCR will get their win this year and we are close from it.
And not too related but this Lenovo scheme was sick. I miss it.

>I don't mind seeing SVG dominating at the road coursesWith a performance like that, you basically have to treat it as a separate class like the Hondas in IndyCar and the McLarens, formerly Red Bull, Formerly Mercedes ad infinitum, in F1.
SVG is basically an LMP1 in a field of GT3s on road courses. I had hoped he would get better at ovals, but he's not improving the way I thought he would.
Zillisch, on the other hand, seems to be pretty good at both ovals and road/stree courses. He was doing a great job controlling the field at Talladega until he made a massive mistake of inches and he would have won Saturday if that late yellow didn't come out and/or his own freaking teammate didn't put him into the wall on the restart. I first noticed him in MX-5 and he was insanely good and he won a Rolex Daytona before he was even old enough to enter a Cup race. That kid is going to go far as long as he doesn't get seriously injured. I do find it a bit odd that he cose NASCAR as opposed to trying to get into an F1 seat, but I'm happy he did and he's probably happier in NASCAR.

Everyone is mad at NASCAR for manipulating a race finish cuz rain was coming, but the first thing Cody did when he pounded the wall was come on the radio and ask for help. No matter how bad if bonks the finish, even if we had a 20 min caution and have to switch to wets with a meme finish, that needed to be an instant caution cuz Cody could have been really hurt there. The right driver won, but that was a massive safety lapse by NASCAR that should never happen. There was a NASCAR official, w/radio, like 15 feet from where Cody hit.
>call the caution before the white
NASCAR manipulated the race
>call the caution after the white
NASCAR manipulated the race
>>149671287Race manipulation is irrelevant, except to retarded NASCAR fans. SVG was going to win either way. You throw the caution cuz Cody went head first into a wall without brakes. It was a massive hit.
Erik Jones on the Dirty Mo podcast was pretty good. Seems like a cool, down to Earth dude. Said the difficult thing about SVG is that unlike other drivers, his SMT data isn't all that helpful. They can see his data and try to replicate, but it doesn't work. Said he can't even understand how he's able to generate runs the way he does. I know after that first race SVG said no to the "foot cam", so his wizardry is secretive for now.
>>149670665I'm expecting this to get him fired up and try to fight for a win in the remaining races, the reality is that he'll continue to qualify in the middle of the pack with high chances of being collected in a juan.
Suarez is basically Cole Custer. Good enough to run into a win rarely in the Cup Series, and good enough to dominate Xfinity in a quality ride. There's nothing wrong with an Xfinity career. Daniel should secure a sponsor and go win races and run for ships in Xfin. Aric Almirola is godly down there, and he's only racing part time these days.
>>149671349Sounds like Jones needs to do what generations of NASCAR drivers before have done and hit up the Bondurant school for a heel-toe refresher every year.

Good morning, racing frens.
>>149668362>Zillisch, on the other hand, seems to be pretty good at both ovals and road/stree coursesUnfortunately he had some misfortunes on the oval races at Xfinity this year, and it's quite early for a possible Cup ride, but I think he's the best young talent on motorsports today.
>I do find it a bit odd that he cose NASCAR as opposed to trying to get into an F1 seatFag1 would probably never embrace him, as he didn't have any relation with any F1 development team AFAIK, and for someone outside the F1 ladder, it's way more difficult to get there as a new driver than it was 25/30 years ago. You need money and you also need to be in the right time and in the right place. How many F2 champions never went to the big stage? Either way, I prefer seeing him doing his own path at stock car and sports car racing, the media and normalfags might not recognise him as a great future driver, but motorsport fans know his talent and I think he will be more successful in that way than betting on a possible F1 seat.
>>149670064All Astons are good guys, both at the GTPs/Hypercars and at the GT3s
>>149668449>That really is kind of shitty. IDK why they didn't just add it, too. Hell, get rid of one of those boring desert tracks. (Yeah right.)FIA/ACO wants more races, but a good amount of teams (possibly most of the gt3 privateers) are against expanding the calendar. But even if we throw out qatar, we have way too many tracks which would be nice to see in the championship to please everyone, like Silverstone, Nurburgring, Portimao, Road America, Sepang, etc...
The best solution would be a WRC2 type thing where only the best X amount of results are counted for the privateers so they still wont go under financially, while it would make a possibility for local teams to enter

FIA WEC Closing In On Silverstone Return
>After years of deliberation, it appears that the FIA WECโs organisers are close to striking a deal that will see Silverstone return to the calendar.
>Multiple sources have suggested to DSC in recent weeks that the UK Grand Prix circuit is likely to feature on the 2027 schedule, acting as a ninth round in an expanded season.
>The race itself is also being tipped to be held early in the year before the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, as part of a more condensed start to the season, which would feature four races before the championshipโs showpiece event.
>Taking the WEC to Silverstone is not a cheap endeavour, and the teams voted earlier this year to maintain an eight-race calendar for 2026 due to cost concerns.
>As a result, LMEM (Le Mans Endurance Management, which promotes and manages the FIA WEC) is having to prioritise finding a solution with Silverstone that works financially for both sides.
>UK-based sportscar fans are clearly hungry for live racing, though.
>Advanced ticket sales for the ELMSโ return to Northamptonshire later this year have been so strong (more than 20,000 are understood to have been sold already) that heads have been turned.
>There is now a firm belief behind closed doors that another record-breaking crowd would show up for the WECโs first race on UK soil since 2019.
