Right on with the Slavs as well, and I would argue this would describe them in other sports as well. Our CAM is a Slav who played professionally in Romania (and is still in his 20s) and man, when he has the ball you know you’ll maintain possession, and if you’re open in the final third, you’re getting the ball. I also played with a community of Bulgarians while living in Virginia and honestly, they are some of the kindest people I’ve met irl, and good ballers too!

First Mexicans and now this? You truly know how to make me seethe lol, this shit is the bane of my existence. I play as a RB/RWB (I’m actually a decent WB) but you can probably foresee my grievances. 1) Goalies would rather boot it than give me the ball (and we lose possession) 2) Usually the other rest of the back line and the goalie shit themselves with I try to pass to them from the back (hell, this was the case on an English-heavy team, they explicitly told me to never do that again, despite no goals given up from it) 3) There is no emphasis on possession, so we lose the ball quickly and I can’t make forward runs. When I do, we almost always lose the ball within 10 seconds. The fucking game on Tuesday, our useless gringo goalie would never pass the fucking ball to me, and instead boot it to where we constantly lost the ball. I had no passes to me the whole game to the point I subbed myself off because of “injury” (yeah ankle is sprained, but I could’ve kept playing). We went from 0-0 at 55’ to 4-0 lmao, honestly feels good to know that I’m the key to our back line, despite getting shat on.
