How come everyone forgot the 0-3 immediately after 1-7?

It was the third-place match. I like having these just for the sake of having a bronze winner, so to say, but they aren't exactly tense games. Also, I don't think anyone was surprised that Brazil were in shambles after the semifinal
And 0:3, while embarrassing, still is a somewhat acceptable result normally. Not under these circumstances of course, but then it is clearly overshadowed by the game before

played in the wrong position.
that wouldn't be so bad for one out of 10 outfield players, but Marcel was also trained to play out of position. so you had two defenders who were never back where they should be.

idk looking back I find it hilarious how far they went with blatant cheating. I'd probably be mad if it was some other country that's better at football, but Korea rigging their way to a World Cup semi-final just cracks me up.

These are often some of the most entertaining games of the entire tournament since both teams are freed from 99% of the pressure, but want to give their fans a (somewhat) happy ending. While most World Cup finals are dominated by defensive approaches and the fear of making mistakes (2018 and 2022 are rather stark exceptions), the bronze medal games are usually โ€žfuck itโ€œ mode
Their actual sportive value is relatively low, itโ€™s not that uncommon for teams to field players with relatively little playtime. But that doesnโ€™t mean everyone is dawdling around

He had great technical skills, and I've never seen another defender being such a good passer of the ball, but his defending was woeful. I can't fathom why wasn't played more as a DM. He was very good in Conte's system with two CB's to cover for him, but as one of two defenders he was painfully bad.

I actually think he's a massively over-hated player who was misunderstood by several of his managers. He should have never been played as a CB in a 2 CB system - he simply didn't have the attributes for it. As a playmaker in a 3 CB system? Fantastic. As a deep-lying midfielder in front of 2 CBs? Sure. He had no business being deployed any other way.

Why are brazilians like this? Marquinhos is the same, reckless in many occasions. Blud thinks he is Thiago Silva
