His goal ratio against clubs that are roughly PL level isn't very impressive. I think a more "active" striker like Sesko might suit Arsenal more. That doesn't mean Gyökeres will flop, but I think it would be foolish to expect him to be a top PL striker capable of scoring 30 goals in the league and turning Arsenal into title contenders for real. I don't think he has shown enough for that as of now
A few years ago, Gyökeres was an average player for various pretty small clubs. He's undergone an impressive development since, but personally, I'm always a bit worried about players like that. Maybe their streak ends again. But even if it doesn't, Gyökeres might be a bit too overhyped for his performance in the Portuguese league. It's likely that this won't do him and Arsenal any favors
I could easily be completely wrong here, though. But I see a lot of people pretend he's the best striker in the world and a perfect fit for Arsenal, and I just don't see that

probably another nunez or even a van wolfswinkel. i've seen him play for swansea and coventry, his numbers were good for the latter but he looked like a right donkey. too slow. sesko looks the better player overall. although considering this is arsenal i'm all for them signing him

Here's the biggest thing that everyone is forgetting
He's a fucking unit and runs at defenders like Haaland, forcing teams to stop double teaming Saka. When you have a 90kg pitbull running lose on the pitch, Saka on the right and a pace merchant on the left (Eze?) plus Rice and Zubimendi causing chaos, Saliba and Gabriel in the back and Timber/Califori/MLS keeping it tight at the back (no homo) then that makes for a scary 11. No one gives a fuck about Havertz or Merino and they still scored thanks to the system, now imagine Gyokeres up front or at least nipping at the heels of defenders. I'm only a fan of his purely because of the intensity, if I was to choose based on skill I would probably choose Sesko but players like Sesko don't transform teams or add that cutting edge. Haaland is a fucking dickhead as are most of the City starting 11 which is why they won the treble (and is also why Pep is signing a shitton of muslim faggot dagestani types who will break ankles and not give a fuck)

Arsenal don't need a world class striker, they just need a decent one.
