Can you be considered a big club if you've never won the Champions League?

Insane people. Arsenal is the 3rd largest club in the EPL. Meaning they’re easily a top 10 club in the world by revenue and the amount of supporters.

To be a big club, history is crucial, you need old epic legends of champions league win, you need those old players to be in club as staff and managers, and so on.

If Manchaster United wins Champions 3 year from now, it will have much bigger impact than Arsenal winning it, it's another level of hype and energy because of history.

It would be a fun idea to really define what even is a big club and figure out a way to quantify it somehow in order to compare clubs. I think there are way too many factors that should be taken into consideration.

>Historical Continental Success (last 30 years)
>Fanbase Size (Global/continental/local outreach)
>Finances (Can't be a big team if you are too poor to sign players)
>Player Pull (For example, some players will join teams like Real Madrid despite being paid less than at other teams)

As of right now, some people say Tottenham and Arsenal are big teams but Atlético Madrid isn't despite the latter performing much better in both their local league and europe because they are poorer and their fanbase is smaller.

Also Milan is still considered a big club by many despite not performing well for years in both europe and their local league and nearly going bankrupt in the past.

I don't know man why are the Dallas Cowboys consistently the most valuable sports club in the world by a significant margin when they haven't even been to the superbowl in nearly 20 years? Results are not the most important part of how "big" a team is, half of the teams on this list have been a joke for years.
