There's never been a better time to be a Mexican baseball fan
>For the first time, four Mexicans are going to the same edition of the All-Star Game

Wasnt the Golden age of Mexican baseball back in the 20s until the 40s

Maybe in terms of popularity compared to soccer, yes, but even so I don't think Mexican baseball has lived its golden age, things only continue to get better. In terms of talent we haven't had anything close to this. I don't think any decade in the past has matched the level of talent that gets to play in MiLB nowadays

Telewila's chilangos really did a number on us, my grandpa used to tell me Monterrey was a baseball city then in the late 60s until Telewila started to mass shill divegrass hard (mostly due to 1970 WC purposes)

>Colombia

Thats really the one that suprises me the most, thought only Venecos liked luck swing in south America, the negro island countries and central América/México Is expected

>>149715999
Real shit, Soccer only became organically popular from the start out in the west, specifically Guadalajara, the rest of the country was varying degrees of baseball and American Football (for central and North western México) until the big shilling began in the late 60s / early 70s

And none of them are the Mexican negro. What happened to him?

Also, are they legit Mexicans, or chicanos who had one mexican grandparent and don't even speak spanish?

Randy is still doing pretty well. Just not an All-Star by the fucky distribution of selections across teams.

All legit Mexicans

I'm sure there are a few, but it doesn't seem common. Just look at the players going to the All-Star Game. They were all signed as international free agents when they were nearly adults

And now he's on the list to replace someone that had to drop. Now make that 5 Mexicans.
>But he's a Cuban ni-
He's probably more proud to be Mexican than their entire national soccer team combined.

hell yeah, I'm glad he bounced back from a disappointing last season, but bats always struggle in their first season at Seattle, just like Polanco

is Mexico elite?
A bunch of the USA guys could probably play for another country in the WBC if they wanted to

what I will say is that we are better than what most people give us credit for. something that we desperately need is a superstar. I'm not even asking someone to the level of Judge/Ohtani. someone of the level of Tatís Jr. or Kyle Tucker would do it. people love Randy/Muñoz/Paredes, but they're not exactly at the level where you can call them superstars. I will consider us elite once we have a player who can at least get MVP votes from year to year (even if he doesn't win since it's hard as fuck)
Anonymous United States No.149734305
>>149734150
any one of these guys would be a much bigger star if they played for the Dodgers
Aranda would have star potential except he's on the fucking Rays, so he doesn't
It is interesting that most of Mexico's best players are position players now, traditionally they've always produced more pitching
