Probably world rugby, the tier 2's in europe are complaining they dont get to test themselves against tier 1 and think they deserve a go in the 6 Nations, Georgia have been complaining for years then got hammered 5-34 at home by Ireland B last week.

I just looked up Portuguese union team and turns out they actually did much better than expected in the last 2023, so I've spoken too soon. Drew with Georgia, defeated Fiji, and kept the losing margins to within 3 tries against both Wales and Australia.

Still, a better match up would be against Wales or Italy

if France lose its whatever we're just sending the kids for a bit of fun and experience

meanwhile the kiwis are seething they dont get to play against a proper team and probably wont sell out stadiums or make good $$

2014-2015 Nonu was a different beast. He was literally the full package, he could crashball, he could distribute, he could make well weighted grubbers, and he was outpacing opposition wingers. And hell, I don't think he was ever troubled by injury

Do you think it's a coincidence that Aus rugby's serious downfall from constantly being top 3 in the world began the year after we made the RWC grans final and won TRC? Certainly wasn't because of those results - it was because that was the year the rewrote the rulebook, expanded TMO permissions, and started cracking down on safety bullshit.

My dad said the other day that the kiwis still have PTSD from that game and I think he's right. Aus was probably mindbroken earlier than that, in 2007 when we had our then worst ever RWC finish without even firing a shot even though we still had absolutely elite players (our backline was literally Gregan, Larkham, Giteau, Mortlock, Latham).

It's either this or we become like /cric/ and just talk about lawns, sheds and the generals ''''personalities''''.

It should be better but rugby has shit the bed trying to court larger audiences (America, w*men) while not protecting it's own existing fanbase from encroaching American sports and Soccer. All the zoomers at my work don't give a shit about rugby because that's considered Boomer shit, but they have superbowl parties and NBA fantasy leagues and wouldn't shut up about the womens soccer world cup when it was hosted here a year or so ago. Rugby here is circling the drain and once we're out of the picture rugby will only be played and watched by posh private school cunts. Not worth saving

yep too many poosernalities on /cric/, which are essentially parasites. one of them even recently admitted he doesn't even follow cricket anymore, so he has no friends and /cric/'s communal activity fills the void.
/rug/ is rare but its very rarely off-topic stuff.
actually most generals on /sp/ should be like that anyway. for example, why does NFL get a year-round general when the season is only like four months a year?

The TRC nations have literally nothing in common, while the Lions nations are literally all one country (okay part of one of them got partly free for the time being but otherwise...) and basically all the same island, language, culture, history, etc. The real farce is that they're allowed different teams in rugby, you don't see that in the Olympics.

I remember when we won our test match against SA right before hosting the WC. You know how it ended.
A win tastes good, for sure, but a win at the right time beats a loss in a test match.

Galtier isn't stupid. As he said himself, he picked players to reward from their good Top 14 season and gifted them a match against one of the greatest team in the world. That's how you build a future for French rugby.

In those conditions, I see no reason to be mad, even if we had to lose all three test matches. I also understand the AB frustration. But now isn't the time for big guns.

I like the idea of having two six nations and you stick teams like this lot in tournament B and the winner of that one goes up to the main tournament and the last place in tournament A goes down. Only the best of the B league European teams can get up then at least and it stops teams in last place going into the final week giving up as there's still something to play for if they can get that one win

I’m actually really starting to enjoy watching the Italians play. I love their grit. You see them after 75 minutes of an absolute beatdown and they’re still hustling for a try. They’re also surprisingly tenacious and physical which is very fun to watch.
They remind me of some of the old Welsh rugby sides to be honest. God I miss wales man. Get it together
