Though I thought Puello won, I think Matias has improved a lot since the Paro fight. he looked way better at applying pressure against Puello who I think is quite better than Paro technically. Shakur/Matias fight could be interesting because although Shakur is defensively great he doesn't move backwards quite as effectively as someone like Puello who pivots off the ropes well, against Zepeda the pressure left him against the ropes a lot of the time. I genuinely believe that people who legitimately don't think this was a low blow know nothing about the sport past surface level shit. Guys like Don Charles and Warren are obviously gonna pretend they believe it to back their guy.
The shot clearly catches usyk below his belly button on his lower naval, which has always been considered an illegal blow. The reaction was near instantaneous, which typically does not happen with legitimate body shots to your solar plexus. The ref called it for being a low blow almost instantly and had a great view of it. The most damning piece of evidence is that Dubois himself did not complain once about it because this is something he was intentionally doing throughout the fight, he was warned about lowblows at least like 3 times before this. I think people need to rewatch some of Dubious fights and realise he's got a history of playing dirty, intentional or not. Look at him leading with his head and fucking up Hrgovics face in their fight for example.

Rescored the Puello/Matias fight last night because I missed like 7 rounds of it because of my streams cutting out, want to see if the decision is as controversial as people said it was.
Round 1: Clear Puello round
Puello 10-9 Matias
good opening round for both despite the fact that the round has a clear winner. Matias comes out and is pressuring Puello a lot, making him back up the whole round, but cant really manage to land anything big, some decent body shots here and there but not much else. Puello is fighting really well off the backfoot and pivots off the ropes well, snaps Matias head back a good few times with uppercuts and some other straight shots.
Round 2: Very close Matias round
Puello 19-19 Matias
Matias's pressure is causing Puello to get caught on the ropes and get into exchanges with Matias a lot more this round, Puello also starts trying to clinch more to quench his pressure on the inside. Puello is still landing good straight shots that get through but I think Matias just steals the round with his pressure and volume, toss up round though.
Round 3: Clear Matias round
Puello 28-29 Matias
Very good pressure from Matias this round again, begins to land a lot cleaner to the body and this time Puello can't seem to catch him with anything of note, all of his shots seem to club off Matias's guard apart from a decent uppercut in the last 30 seconds which Matias immediately responds to and begins to land a lot of clean shots himself to make sure the round isn't close to the judges.

Puello 37-39 Matias
Similar to the last round except Puello actually does land quite a few impactful shots this rounds and his moments here, but Matias's pressure is even more apparent this round and is clearly causing him to get tired and get sucked into clinching a lot more this round, he never gives Puello more than a second to breathe before he has to resort to moving backwards or clinching so he doesnt get stuck on the ropes. Matias is still landing at a slightly higher frequency especially to the body and is pushing the action so he takes the round.
Round 5: Clear Matias round
Puello 46-49 Matias
Matias begins to open up more this round, and a consequence is that Puello begins to land some actual clean shots through the guard, but its worth it as Matias lands a lot of good clean thudding shots throughout this round, even landing 2 good power jabs, a punch which he seems to have neglected up until this point, and also lands a couple of sneaky shots on Puello while hes trying to clinch with him.
Round 6: Clear Matias round
Puello 55-59 Matias
Puello starts of the first minute of this round really well, staying at range and catching matias coming in, but he gets sucked into that pressure of matias again after that and begins getting caught in more close quarter shootouts with him which inherently are gonna favour matias. matias catches him quite a few times this round with a great uppercut on the inside and it looks like Puello is just getting drowned by the non stop pressure
Round 7: Clear Matias round
Puello 64-69 Matias
Again, Puello just cant seem to do anything to stave off Matias from coming forward and forcing him to engage in the pocket or to back up onto the ropes where Matias can tee off on him. hes still competitive in there and is landing back some good shots but it just feels like Matias's shots are doing more and that hes beginning to land them cleaner by each round.

Round 8: Close Puello round
Puello 74-78 Matias
Puellos work is a lot better here, and instead of just getting caught on the ropes he actively trys to punch forward into a clinch to stay off them. hes landing alot more here compared to the previous rounds and doesnt seem so phased by Matias any more who also cant seem to land as clean as he did in the last round. Matias does have a good last minute or so however and catches Puello with good shots, enough to make the round pretty close but not enough to win it for me.
Round 9: Very close Puello round
Puello 84-87 Matias
Much the same from Puello this round except Matias has a lot more successful moments inbetween Puellos punches rather than just having success in the last minute or so and makes it even closer to score.
Round 10: Close Matias round
Puello 93-97 Matias
Probably the scrappiest round of the fight so far, both guys uncharacteristically loading up on shots and missing wildly with some of them, again Matias's pressure and scrappy work on the inside just seems to be giving him an edge against Puello in these close rounds
Round 11: Clear Puello round
Puello 103-106 Matias
Probably the first round where Puello really takes the initiative and is first to shoot, he lands a ton of great straight shots throughout this round and a really eye catching uppercut early in the round. Matias is still the one pressuring and coming forward but hes not landing nearly enough this round to make it competitive.
Round 12: Clear Puello round
Puello 113-115 Matias
Mostly the same story as the last round, Matias seems pretty tired from all the effort he put into pressuring earlier in the fight.

Overall I'm kind of surprised at how many people are calling this a robbery, IMO the only scores you should be getting are 115-113 for either guy or a draw, judges had it right. I think part of it was to do with the commentary, I listed to some of it while scoring and i had to turn it off because it felt like they were ignoring Matias's work. That whole DAZN crew needs firing. Fight kind of reminded me of the first Bivol/Beterbiev fight in the sense that while watching live with commentary you heavily favour Bivol because of his slick movement and the commentators favouring his work (Puello in this case) but upon rewatching without commentary its kind of impossible to ignore how much Beterbiev (Matias) was the aggressor and was landing heavier shots
