These are the official Sky Six rankings since 1992 when Sky invented football. It's a very simple point based system which itself is based off a very simple mathematical formula.

>1: Manchester United
>40.3

>2: Chelsea
>17.14

>3: Arsenal
>14.21

>4: Liverpool
>12.82

>5: Manchester City
>6.75

>6: Tottenham
>1.09

I understand these official ranking may upset some of you. But the simple fact is that the debate is now finally settled.

The actual full section of the Ornstein-penned article, this part not not written by Ornstein:

>Analysis by Newcastle correspondent Chris Waugh

>There has been a transformation in mood and also momentum in Newcastle’s window. After what felt like a slow-burn start, with near-misses on several targets, suddenly there is optimism about what can be achieved ahead of their return to the Champions League.

>Caution must be applied, because a fee is yet to be agreed with Frankfurt and Newcastle have twice tried and failed to sign Ekitike before, in the January and summer windows of 2022, yet even being seriously in the conversation for the Frenchman once more underlines the ambitions of the ownership.

>Should Newcastle conclude this deal, then Ekitike would represent a marquee signing, similar to when Alexander Isak arrived in August 2022 and Sandro Tonali joined the following July. Ekitike is a player with elite potential and would really boost Newcastle’s firepower.

>The obvious follow-up question is what this means for Isak’s future, and the insistence is that Newcastle want to boast both among their frontline options. How Eddie Howe would keep that pair plus Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga happy is unclear, and the finances involved in retaining them all will stretch Newcastle from a PSR perspective, but those are enviable “problems” to have.

>Concluding a transfer of this magnitude is not straightforward and it is far from complete yet, but this latest development feels extremely encouraging for Newcastle fans.

Hutchison has a £35 million relegation release clause from Ipswich, so Brentford will still likely trigger that (or already have in private) within the same day as the sale takes place. Can't go making moves so openly given Spurs have historically snatched up targets

Apparently it is £13m+£5m. Which is £2m under the rumoured release clause and what Valencia wanted. As I said, madness price for a young talented defender who isn't a manlet and has played across the entire back line. But he'll prob flop I don't see him becoming a GOAT like Saliba (who only did so because he went on loan for two seasons). But we'll see. I would have thought they would have gone for a player who can head but this guy is tall yet has a terrible aerial duel win percentage. Maybe the goal is to get Gabriel and Saliba to teach him.

No shit, I do look at the stats of a player and can see he is the opposite of what a club has bought and is a major part of their gameplan. Arteta seems to like guys who can head and set pieces. So buying a guy who can't head seems retarded. Not entirely sure what is wrong with saying that. If you don't think he'll flop, fine. But bar his passing ability, he isn't outstanding in anything.

What part of 'I can look at stats' do you not get? If a guy has sub 50% aerial duel win rate, that means he isn't good in the air. Which means he isn't suited for a team where they value being able to do it. Paying £13m+£5m for him is a good price for the age but he isn't going to usurp Saliba or Gabriel. Dunno why you're getting so upset. If you think I had to watch Barcelona to know Messi was good you're more of a fucking retard than I thought. Which is actually shocking, as I have an extremely low value of you as a poster. You're above Canada, however.

On the left wing? Yes. But he isn't played there because Vini demands to be LW. If Liverpool get Rodrygo, they walk the league and only won't if Rodri is back to full fitness and City buy somebody else.

He isn't, he's on about £240k. He said he just wants what he is on now if he moved, so £250k would do it. Actually maybe less because Spain has 45% tax and it's 40% here. So £250k would be a step up.

Non news. No bid has been made, a "willingness has been communicated" which means fucking jack shit. That happens all the time in football. This is a calculated leak, probably by Newcastle to show the other clubs how much Liverpool still have to spend. Kinda like when Liverpool acted broke but then bid 115m for Caicedo and ended up missing out on Lavia because So'ton knew Liverpool were low balling them.

Gyokeres to Arsenal is done. Fee agreed, personal terms agreed. Medical sometime next week. Also apparently Sporting president refuses to deal with Amorim. Also, where are United getting, what was it, £65m for Gyokeres? Only can do that if they give up Mbeumo.

I would assume isak told them to fuck off too because all elite clubs usually agree a deal with the agent/player first before making any direct contact with the club. So I'm assuming they approached isak and he wasn't interested and this is their plan B.

Arsenal have done it with literally every transfer this window. Why do you think gyokeres rioted? He agreed a 5 year deal before arsenal were even interested in bidding for him when they were trying for sesko. Same for eze, he's already agreed a 5 year deal but arsenal haven't even spoken to Palace yet. Same with zubimendi last season, he was going to join Liverpool but then arteta gave him a call and told him he should wait.

AFTER the bid has been accepted. Not before. No reputable source ever states 'le 5 year deal agreed' shit. Again, it's against the rules to do it. It's why Forest and considering legal action against Spurs because somehow they got the confidential release clause amount out and only the agent or player could have said that.

I'd agree if he didn't score goals in the CL. At this point ANY striker is a benefit for Arsenal and they produce so many xG (yes a meme stat) they just had nobody finishing them. When they played PSG they had higher xG in both games (technically 3 but one was in league stage) but still lost (bar the league stage game) but because they were playing a DM as ST and a 17 year old at RW, they sucked. So if Gyokeres can score a goal when Merino or Rice would miss if they're in the box they'll be better.

You can make them train with reserve coaches but you cannot just make them 'train on their own' (and that includes 'with others you don't want'). You have to give them coaching training. But I've not seen anybody mention this. So I thought maybe I was wrong.

6 goals in 8 in CL. Also while Portugal isn't a top league, it is much more balanced than Bundesliga where you have Bayern and literally outside of the fluke season, it has been Bayern winning it last 10 seasons. As for Portugal you got Benfica, Sporting and Porto all vying for the title. Outside of Dortmund until their collapse, Bayern 9/10 walk the league.

I said Gyokeres would flop, btw, but don't pretend 97 goals and 28 assists in 102 games is somehow irrelevant.

right but it's comparing two players, in the same team, with the same players around them, with the same system and playing the same level opponents yet gyokeres is performing better. you mentioning pl is irrelevant to the discussion YOU brought that up. in an objective situation where, as i said, two players play the same teams, with the same team, in the same position with the same system and one scores double the amount of goals, you can extrapolate that one of those players is better than the other in terms of scoring.

and this was done because if you point out gyokeres scoring record you just seethe about it being the portuguese league so it doesn't count. so compare a fair system which is objective as can be and gyokeres scores more and assists more.

someone is legitimately trying to argue in here that gyokeres (best known for doing okay in the championship and doing good in a farmers league known for producing frauds) is better than isak (proven premier league striker) because he scored more goals in what are basically glorified international friendlies

@LukeEdwardsTele: Liverpool are effectively telling Newcastle that either you sell Isak to us are we'll sign Ekitike.

You suspect that Newcastle can only fight them off on one front not two.

@mhardysport: Newcastle United are bracing themselves for an official offer from Liverpool for Alexander Isak that could be in the region of £130m

@lee_ryder: Liverpool's move for Alexander Isak appears agent driven at this stage

| @LukeEdwardsTele: It remains to be seen whether Newcastle's stance that Isak is not for sale deters Liverpool. The suspicion is they would not have made an approach if they had not been encouraged to do so.

>Leicester City have named former Queens Park Rangers head coach Marti Cifuentes as their new manager on a three-year deal.

>The 43-year-old Spaniard replaces Ruud van Nistelrooy at the Foxes' helm with less than a month until the season starts.

>Cifuentes takes charge of a Leicester side that finds itself in the Championship for the second time in three years, having been immediately relegated from the Premier League after going up as second-tier title winners under Enzo Maresca in 2024.

>He now joins Maresca, who left Leicester after promotion to take the job at Chelsea, as one of the six permanent managers the Foxes have had in just over two years.

>Just as the Italian was tasked with returning the East Midlands club to the top flight during his tenure, promotion will also be expected of Cifuentes.

>In his time at QPR, the Spaniard, for whom the Foxes will pay Rangers an undisclosed compensation fee, oversaw 18th and 15th-placed finishes.

>Leicester say they feel the Spaniard will bring "a modern, progressive footballing philosophy" to the club, while chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha says that Cifuentes "is an excellent fit".

>"We felt strongly that bringing him to the club would help us to create the success we all want in the years ahead," Srivaddhanaprabha added.

That's Leicester not getting promoted again any time soon. They won't go down either.
