So you can't come up with a reason he's never been employed by anyone or even freelanced if his reporting is so ahead of everyone else? Surely media outlets would be salivating over someone with such strong connections to Liverpool.

Wrexham at some point have to accept that getting old relics of the Premier League 2010's isn't gonna be enough to cut it. Sure it works having fucking Jay Rodriguez in fucking League 1, he's a cut above most lads even in said prime. But the Championship is a different scale of money and culture. Derby is flat broke. Imagine having to compete with Derby for a transfer when you are the so-called Hollywood project.

If Wrexham's plan is to get a bunch of loans in, they aren't going to get many favours now they are at the final hurdle. They don't have the network with other clubs nor anyone "local" to lend a hand like with say the London clubs dropping kids at Wimbledon or Wycombe for a run about. Only the Premier League and TV rights holders want Wrexham to do well because of the narrative they can pull, plus interviews. Any sensible football club sees them as either a threat and/or detriment. I am sure a clout chaser or two may emerge for the TV time.
Real question is; where the fuck is the money? They've had back to back promotions and two misc. cup finals in four years, sponsorships on par with oil clubs and a Disney funded TV show. Even shipped Paul Mullen out to Wigan, so they've got money set aside from a key player. What is the plan of action? If "Survival" is the goal, they gotta somehow best THREE teams. Hull has a transfer ban, fine. Two left. Sheffield Wednesday would be a weak link if it wasn't for the impending US takeover. QPR and Stoke have good academy prospects. Portsmouth and Oxford aren't heavy hitters but overachieved upon promotion.

Meanwhile, in completely unrelated news:
>Crystal Palace supporters have staged a protest against Uefa's decision to demote the club to the Conference League.
>On Tuesday, hundreds of fans marched to Palace's Selhurst Park ground carrying banners and chanting against European football's governing body.
>The Eagles, who qualified for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup in May - their first major trophy - were demoted to the lower tier of Uefa competition after breaching multi-club ownership rules.
>American businessman John Textor owns a stake in Crystal Palace and is the majority owner of French club Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League.
>The rules of European football's governing body state clubs owned, to a certain threshold of influence, by the same person or entity cannot compete in the same European competition.
>Uefa's rules set a deadline of 1 March 2025 to show proof of multi-club ownership restructuring - a deadline which Palace missed.
>Textor is currently in the process of selling his stake in Crystal Palace to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson.
>Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, are set to replace Palace in the Europa League. Palace are expected to take their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
>"At the end of the day it's an injustice, just by a couple of admin errors. We qualified for it," Nick Philpot from the Red and Blue Review podcast said at the march. "We won the cup - it should be we go into it without any question about it. You're penalising the entire club and the fanbase. Why would you do that?"

My Liverpool mate was getting all excited about this because Liverpool have a real chance to bully Newcastle here. If they don't sell Isak then Liverpool will buy Ekitike and still get Isak off them in the future and Newcastle will have no-one to buy. So they'll have to sell Isak and buy Ekitike and that's that.

I can't tell if it's arrogance or they think pulling in fucking Vardy is gonna bail them out or whatever other relic of yesteryear that emerges.
>Goalkeepers
If Arthur Okonkwo has another wrist injury, the season is over. He was a key part as to why they kept so many clean-sheets in League 1 up until that point. Ward just signed on a free to become the new number 2. Burton is a journey man to fill the blanks and also got hurt when covering for Arthur. A lot rides on Arthur to stay fit in the Championship.
>Defence
It's a good mix of youth and journeyman experience for the lower divisions, but NOT ONE of them have played Championship football. Not a single one. I can see this team falling apart tactically if the backline struggles with the pace.
>Midfield
If you exclude the just promoted academy lads, everyone is 26+ and knows the league well. And not on the good side of 26 either. McClean is 36, Cannon is 29 and hasn't been the same since COVID. Evans and Dobson are Championship journeymen, none able to stay a club longer than two years on average. Matty James is the rare example of the lot who has actually won promotion from the division with Leicester. Also at the tail-end of his career.
>Forwards
Palmer is the fat tall fella this league is stereotyped for. He ain't no Akinfenwa. At 33, he'll be debuting in the Championship. Unlike club legend Paul Mullin, who has been banished on loan to Wigan. Marriott, 30 and Hardie, 28 are some of the few lads they've got who have been in the Championship for longer than a season. Jay Rodriguez, despite his appearance, is 35. Almost as old as Vardy. Scored far less than Vardy.
To put it blunt. This is a team that will struggle with the fixtures of the Championship level. It's riddled with dead wood that would have to be cut upon promotion, with no realistic targets to replace the outbound players. Of the transfers in, three of the four have been free agents over the age of 28.

No, United first and Chelsea second is the true mindbreaker result. Chelsea's achievements have a hobby of being forgotten after 12 months. If United won the league, beating Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea, it would be shit posted/talked about for literal years.

Great analysis. Just a slight correction, the only Championship experienced specialist defender they've got is Dan Scarr with a grand total of 1 season at Plymouth. Lewis Brunt has 2 sub PL appearances. Other than that, lol.
>I can't tell if it's arrogance or they think pulling in fucking Vardy is gonna bail them out or whatever other relic of yesteryear that emerges.
I genuinely think it's arrogance. They're fucking around Down Under while they've signed fucking nobody worthwhile. Reality will hit McReynolds and the media so fucking hard they won't know if they're in Wrexham or Chester. And you just know that if they do go down, the hype train will completely abandon them.

My hate for Wrexham isn't completely tied to these two half-wit yanks. Most of it comes from the fact that they picked a fucking Welsh team. Around the time of bidding, they also had Oldham Athletic, Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge to consider buying too. Oldham have actual history in the Premiership, Dagenham is in London and so it's easier to sell the vision for. Sure Southend ain't anything special, but least it's ENGLISH. Welsh teams wanna play in the FAW Welsh Cup (grants a Conference Cup place) and than turn around and demand the perks of the EFL too. Cunts. Pick a lane.

I love seeing all the anons itt desperately echo sentiments about Liverpool doing shit this season. Liverpool are going to win almost every game. They're far, far, far beyond the rest of the league in every single area. They lost to PSG on penalties, or they would have won the CL too. They've improved massively. Nobody else comes close. It's going to be a fucking walkover. You are not prepared.

Why the fuck would Newcastle say they're never selling Livramento but then go ahead and sell Isak to Liverpool, it makes no sense
@davidlynchlfc: "One more thing that I would say that is worth underlying in this whole process is that Richard Hughes and Eddie Howe are long-time friends.
“With that in mind, and this is something emphasised to me by a source, surely Richard Hughes isn’t going into this situation blind, believing that Newcastle are just going to reject this, I think he must have a sneaking suspicion that there’s a possibility of Liverpool doing a deal here."
In football there is a belief that Isak or his people have in some way made it known that were he to leave, then Liverpool would be his preferred choice which is why Arsenal moved on."

Good point and if you look at Liverpool's transfer dealings they're always respectful to the other club so they aren't just placing a bid to unsettle the player. They've clearly received indications from the player that he'd like to move and from the club that a deal can be done. All the outrage and news about flat out refusals are just for the media and seething Geordie fans. Welcome to Liverpool

Why are CP protesting about demotion? The prize money for EL and ECL is not much different, but the teams faced are massively different (there are CL regulars in the EL this season) and winning more games will lead to more prize money, more games and more tickets. CP will sell out whatever competition they are in. Winning the ECL gets them EL which they really should be able to achieve. I think there is only one big team in the ECL this year, I forget who. Valencia I think? Or is this a principle thing?

you lose money playing conference league its only played out of pride
Hello lads. I'm back from a several day ban (I was being racist). Anyway, Rodrigo camp has said yes to Liverpool already as Diaz to Bayern is fully expected to go through in the next week or so. Numbers nearly agreed upon. As for the Issk situation, it's actually much further along than Newcastle fans would like it to be. It's swung about 65/35 in favour of him being a Liverpool player before August. You're also going to hear more about Tsimikas to Newcastle too, working the same way the Quansah to Leverkusen deal did in helping facilitate the big money transfer.
Elsewhere in the league, the Anthony Gordon to Arsenal rumours are nonsense (though they do still want to get rid of Martinelli) and United are posed to make some moves of their own in the coming week, keep your eyes peeled. Brentford also have another player lined up for purchase, which is expected to be announced in the coming week.

Yeah but EL is much more difficult than ECL and ECL is infinitely winnable for CP. No PL should ever fail to win the ECL. CP will prob get more money in the long run in ECL than EL simply because the teams they face will be easier and the prize money evens out. If it's just about principle and status, fair enough, but long run, it's a competition they could (and should) win and that's a trophy in the cabinet and EL next year.
Speaking about ECL should they make another European competition so you can have ECL vs Theoretical European Competition in a Not So Super Cup?
>>149812862
The prize money isn't much different
>ECL
€3,170,000 for League Stage
€400,000 per league stage game won
€133,000 per league stage game drawn
€400,000 for finishing 1st-8th
€200,000 for finishing 9th-24th
€800,000 for RO16
€1,300,000 for QF
€2,500,000 for SF
€4,000,000 for Final
€7,000,000 if winner
Total: Roughly £15m if you win all your league games and win the thing.
>EL
€3,630,000 group stage
€630,000 league stage win
€210,000 league stage draw
€1,100,000 for 1st in league
€550,000 for 2nd in league
€500,000 for knock-off play-off
€1,200,000 for RO16
€1,800,000 for QF
€2,800,000 for SF
€4,600,000 for final
€8,600,000 for winning
Total: £20m if you win it and win all group stage games
So difference is £5m and you're much more likely to progress in the ECL than EL this year anyway.

Maybe, can't be guaranteed,
Isak will be 27 in 2026 September with 2 years left on his deal.
Much like the Gyokeres situation and he's not going for a 100 million.
They still might be able to get 100 million euros if he maintains his performance, but definitely not 100 million pounds.
The pain will come from not having his like for like replacement in Ekitike.
The only way for Newcastle to come out as winners as things stand is getting both Ekitike and Isak OR losing Ekitike but tying Isak down to another long term deal

It's already done that way. You don't get to qualify for the CL unless you win the EL. As I said, this year, EL has a lot of strong teams while ECL does not. You're much more likely to win the ECL than the EL and get further and get more money.
EL has
>Lille
>Porto
>Villa
>Benis :DD
>Roma
>Bologna
>Stuggart
While ECL's toughest teams are
>Fiorentina
And that's just for the qualifying round. You'll get 5 EL qualifying round drop downs. After Fiorentina it's Mainz and Strasbourg as the toughest teams.

>Yes, the Europa League prize money is in addition to broadcast revenue. UEFA distributes prize money to clubs based on participation, performance, and progression in the competition, as outlined in the provided references. This includes fixed payments (e.g., €4.3 million for qualifying to the league phase in 2024/25), performance bonuses (e.g., €453,000 per win, €151,000 per draw), and additional amounts for reaching knockout stages or winning the title (€5.9 million for the 2025 winner).
>Broadcast revenue, often referred to as part of the "value pillar" (previously market pool), is a separate revenue stream based on the broadcast market size of a club’s country and their performance in UEFA competitions. This value pillar, which combines broadcast revenue and coefficient-based payments, is distributed independently from the fixed prize money and performance bonuses. For the 2024/25 season, the Europa League’s total prize pot is €565 million, with broadcast revenue and coefficient payments forming a significant portion of the "value pillar" alongside the direct prize money.
>Thus, clubs receive both prize money for their on-field achievements and a share of broadcast revenue, which is calculated separately based on factors like domestic TV market size and UEFA coefficients.

I'm the other anon saying you're likely to go further as a club in the ECL and you get more prize money and 'value pillar' simply by the fact you progress. EL is much more difficult to progress in compared to the ECL. I am saying that CP would likely be better off in the ECL simply because they should be expected to win it. Which is why I wasn't sure if it was for principle of pride. Unless CP really think they can go deep in it, in which case OK. But ultimately I think it'd be better just to accept it.

so sporting wanted arsenal to give them more money guaranteed up front, so arsenal went 'sure' and to make it sweeter for sporting, the agent waived his % clause (like £5m or something) to get it done. so sporting turn up and then say
>okay we want the add-ons to be super easy
and arsenal apparently went
>but we just gave into you and gave you more money up front which you said was the issue and now you're saying you want the add-ons you were fine with as long as you got more money upfront to be changed
so it may or may not happen, arteta wants it wrapped up before 19th. if it isn't done by friday it won't be done.

Because Kane drops so deep these days he is basically a midfielder and him having nobody to pass to when he's got the ball at the half way line kills attacks as he can only go out wide or back. If Kane had somebody to pass to in front of him who could break lines and score, he'd be so much better. Kane doesn't stay up top and seems to resent being told to do so and people going
>wow he only touched the ball 8 times
So he ends up at DM just to touch the ball. If he can pass to Toney or Watkins or whatever, cool. Also Bellingham isn't a No.10 anyway he is basically a FW (and is listed as such for Madrid) but because of Mbappe he is in a position he clearly doesn't want to play.

Kane isn’t mobile enough to play as an actual 10, he only works dropping deep because no one cares when a striker drops to fucking DM to touch the ball. If we played him as an out and out 10 he’d get fucking battered off and on the ball because he’s a slow ponderous cunt.

remember watching some adidas series on youtube years ago of having big name footballers go to tiny areas to train with the kids or whatever (like messi to andorra sort of thing)
they did the isles of scilly and had gerrard and some other guys show up, their league is only 2 clubs and they still do stuff like a community shield where the league winners play the cup winners and if the league winners won both they play the runner up
was a cool little episode

you're pretty dim if you don't realise that obviously it was small club fans trying to diminish what big club had done by talking about spending. everything else flows from that. big club fans started talking about net spend because small clubs fans had already paved the way by making spending an issue when the only thing that mattered was how their shit clubs were getting battered on the field
>oh we lost 6-0 but you spent more than us so we don't really suck
it's an obvious small club cope and nothing that a big club fan would care about, much like the PL fan wouldn't care that we outspend other leagues but other leagues would definitely use spending to feel better about themselves
sorry that you're a zoomer add also a retard but these are the facts

I don't think so. Delap will get plenty of minutes. I think Chelsea are entering into a period of dominance. Todd paid his dues with the Lampard banter era, and now he's come good. The original plastic money club are back.
