Why does everyone pretend like Messi didn't significantly drop off from 2012 onward?

You act like 09-19 is all his prime but there's a huge drop in footballing ability post 2012.

You didn't watch Messi, you're judging him based on numbers on a wiki page. Prime Messi was 2015-2019, he was the complete package.

>but muh goals

Go and watch highlights from his 11/12 season, it's the closest he's ever been to a tap-in merchant, almost Ronaldo levels of scoring obsession.

Not even the best argentinian player ever
Maradona carried Napoli to two serie A titles and a UEFA Cup, in a time defenders got away with tackles that you get you a straight red today
Can you even imagine Pissi doing the same with a shitty team?

Because his best individual season was 2019 when he was singlehandedly masking all the deficiencies of the worst run Barcelona in history.

Anybody who told you Barcelona would be relegated is stupid, if such people even exist and you're not making them up. Even before the disparity in club earnings was this huge, a catastrophic Barcelona season would be finishing mid table. With the current resources, it's not realistic for Barcelona to finish outside UCL spots.
It is a testament to Real Madrid (and Atleti) incompetence that they couldn't make the best of Barcelona's worst time in recent history (as illustrated by group stage exits in UCL and embarrassing defeats in UEL) to stat pad some domestic wins.

He was actually on course to break his 2012 record in 2013 before he got injured. When Suarez joined in 2015 he moved back to RW to play more of a support role because Luis couldn't play anything other than CF, that's why his stats dipped a bit.

Let this be an example of how zoomer opinions are pretty much worthless lol

Messi didn't drop off, he was asked to do more in 2011, he just got back to his "normal role" in 2012

The entire world plays this shit sport and all the fans continue to talk about these same two players. You’d think with all the variety of countries, clubs, players, etc there would be more narratives. This is NBA tier which is a domestic league of a sport only played seriously in one country.

He's also conveniently forgetting that in 2013 and 2014 Barcelona signed the the two most wanted strikers in the world, Suarez and Neymar.
And it obviously affected Messi's stats.

I bet you're the kind of retard that thinks prime Torres was at Chelsea because that's where he won the CL, or that Barca Henry was prime Henry.

I know you're Indian and not Canadian but is English really that hard for you?
If you think the Messi edits with flags are registered by everyone else as anything other than "good point, I concede because I can't argue any further" then you're delusional.
