Charters guarantee a starting position and pay teams a bonus amount each week, calculated based on race finishing position and last years final championship standings.
Having a charter doesn't have any bearing on driver or owner points or playoffs. An unchartered car can still make the owner or driver playoffs, but they have to attempt to qualify for every race (hence why SVG wasn't playoff eligible after winning in 2023).

Dixon for sure. SVG is almost unbeatable on the road courses but hes still a backmarker on ovals. As for what to watch you can pick Indycar at the Toronto street circuit or nascar at an oval. So whichever form of vroom you feel like watching. Although technically you can watch both since Indycar should be done or close to it by the time the cup race starts.

If you wanted to root for SVG, you picked the wrong weekend. For now he only has chances of winning on road courses, he's still pretty off the pace on ovals, so the best thing you can do is root for Dixon, if you want someone with more chances to win on this weekend.

All that being said Toronto and Dover don't usually produce the best racing of the season, so don't base your entire opinion of either series on these races.

Nah, just dumb people doomposting.
The thing is is not just VICAR's fuckups that were the problem, but due to the floodings in RS last year, a lot of the car parts also had to be delayed, since a lot of the car parts comes from that state. (i.e ECU)
IMO they should just bring the old car for this year and then next year bring back the new one, after it got properly tested.

lol no one can, all the ECU went to Stock Light (Bosch and Magneti Marelli), plus all cars were dismantled from their critical components (brakes, steering, engine and fuel system, etc). And to add salt to the wound some cars were already sold/given to sponsors, for example Mauricio #90 car from last year is literally on Eurofarma's headquarters

I agree with this, like the car is phenomenal, literally the only problem is the engine, all the other components are fine or easy to fix (like the fiber bodywork which on the start of the year werent all the same).
All these problems happens in any category, for instance in 2009 when they introduced the new generation car it went up in flames 4x only in the first test session, the problem is that this shit is happening on race weekends

Shit. The most reasonable thing they could do is bring back the old cars, but since it's not possible, I think the best they could do right now is give more practice time to the teams on race weekends. Not the perfect solution, but aside from testings, this might be the way for some teams to know how to deal with the car, since the ECU's problems affects some teams more than others.
And I called all this situation an "ending" for Stock Car Brazil not only because of the new regs itself, but all that scheduling stuff, including what happened to the Belo Horizonte round, was pretty embarassing. With some good drivers from Stock Car moving up to NASCAR Brazil (including Rubens himself) and that one not having half of the issues that Stock Car currently has, the reign of Stock Car Brazil might be affected in the next years.

sry but it doesnt, everything is controlled by Audace, is not that "some teams have more knowledge than the others", its just luck
>I think the best they could do right now is give more practice time to the teams on race weekends.
Already doing that, we are now entering R04 and only Velopark didnt had extra tests
>all that scheduling stuff, including what happened to the Belo Horizonte round, was pretty embarassing.
yeah losing BH this year just brought more shame than ever... but I mean not a single season since 2020 Stock Car managed to follow the calendar they released from the start of the year, just look at Brasilia, its on the calendar since fucking 2022 and we havent raced a single time there yet, and we might not even race this year also
>With some good drivers from Stock Car moving up to NASCAR Brazil (including Rubens himself) and that one not having half of the issues that Stock Car currently has, the reign of Stock Car Brazil might be affected in the next years.
lol thats entirely wrong, if you only knew how bad the teams and drivers complain about Nascar... Eveyone is trying to convince Thiago Marques (Nascar CEO) to import the Nascar cars from America but he doesnt want to spend, like the fucker is seriously thinking of putting a new engine with a hybrid system next year on these same god forsaken cars, teams raced there because it was supposed to be cheap, they dont want to continue there if the costs rise

I know importing the cars from the America would be pretty much expensive to do, especially talking about Brazil, but putting a hybrid system on the car doesn't help a little, I didn't know NASCAR Brazil was also damned in that way.

I read that the main problem was the ECU activating the 2-step function when the cars were running down the pitlane, which ends up cooking the engine without necessity, so there's been a bunch of engine already being seized because of that.
Also the ECU apparently doesn't "speak" with the X-Trac transmission, which is one of the main reasions why a lot of the teams wanted the Bosch ECU back.
Also >pilots going to NASCAR Brasil
lol, LMAO.
A lot of people love talking about how NASCAR will replace Stock, which is virtually impossible since for one CBA would never allow it.
Two, the cars that they're running currently are fucking ancient in terms of technology and like the other anon said, the managing org won't spent millions of USD to import Cup Cars or a variant of it.
It's much easier for them to build another car from scratch like Stock did.

it is extremely likely that alpine will be the other car in the hydrogen category with toyoder with hydrogen combustion engine hybrid electric powertrain
also:
> Alpine and Toyota have opted for hydrogen-powered combustion engines over fuel cells, citing the driving experience and technical relevance.
pure electric fags btfo
> βIn the Alpenglow, hydrogen powers a combustion engine, which requires a specific combustion process and a dedicated storage and filling system. The advantage of the combustion engine? It remains a combustion engine with all its sensations, noise, and vibration

Basically it's a function that is used to give the car more boost before it launches.
You rev the engine at a certain RPM and the turbine starts to "spool", but because of that spool a lot more air is going in without the car moving, which heats up the engine A LOT.
2-Step is normally only used for a few seconds, like in a drag racing, but in stock car the turbine is spooling when it's on the pitlane, which is basically cooking the engines and causing all the breaking.

yeah bars suck. I don't go to bars much anymore but my coworkers invited me today
about to go to a horse pull at the local country fair, does that count as vrooms? I'm going to actual motor vrooms the next weekend at the short asphalt oval at the fairgrounds.

Frankly, I fucking love bars and drinking out, as long as I have a fren or two with me. I love getting all loaded and chatting up random new frens and terrorizing people with the jukebox. I either usually play some punk or metal or Rod Stewart and Styx, depending on the crowd and my mood.
Going out with coworkers is hugely important because it makes you more a part of the team. I had one job, it was pretty far from home, but everyone went out a lot after work. I was very much an outsider until I went to a few after work parties. All of a sudden, my interactions at work got a lot better. Not to mention, I started pulling girls. Just remember to watch the budget and take an Uber home if you need to.
The cool thing about sports bars or any bar with TVs is that it's no big deal to get them to put NASCAR or IndyCar session on if you know the channel. I have watched a lot of Indy practice and Truck races from a bar stool. Hell, I've watched Supercars on my phone at a bar, kek.
Also, if you want to show you are an officionato of pub music, drop this bad boy somewhere you can actually hear the music. It's a bit short, but a solid sing a long.
https://youtu.be/qae25976UgA[embed]
If you want to piss everyone off, Japanese metal works surprisingly well.
https://youtu.be/Q2bTVV4pnjI[embed]
They love this shit at my favorite bar.
What did you try to play anyway?

I had to have a talk with my mom a couple months back. Visited her (by plane) so she drove for the week I was there. She was so heavy with the horn and throwing her arms up at drivers it was crazy. For reference, she lives in South Carolina which has the most retarded drivers in America by a mile, so she was justified. But I had to tell her that she's 5-2 100lbs and she can't be provoking road rage. She laughed me off but I kept at it. Told her she's gonna provoke the wrong person one time and it'll be bad, so she told me she'll "dial it down".
I've seen way too many road rage videos online to engage with psychos. It is never worth it.

The free tickets, sure. I always thought that was something that should be done when an event like this takes place or you have houses particularlyclose to a track, but I can't imagine putting thousands of people up in a hotel would even be possible, let alone sustainable. (Unless you are the UK government, but that's an entirely different project.)

Hill climb Chads, we're back!
Today, we are in Norway for Norges Raeste Bakkelop (NorwayΒ΄s Roughest HillClimb). They are sending a pretty diverse and interesting range of machinery, everything from daily driver shit boxes to well prepared shitboxes to small prototype style sports cars. The course looks extremely challenging and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous!
If any of our Scandinavian bros have anything to add, we'd love to hear it.

>Trailer Race of Destruction
Oh, babay, I know what a trailer race is! That should be pretty entertaining, if a bit goofy.
https://youtu.be/MVBgD4Y2JQ8[embed]
Asphalt late models are totally sick. They are kind of better than even asphalt modifieds because they can do more door banging without spaghetting all over the place. All the short ovals around here are dirt, which is cool, but I wish we had an asphalt oval so I could see those cars more often.
>but I haven't been to my local short oval in years
Yeah, I went through that a bit, but I try to get out to my local tracks a few times a year. Going out and watching and doing things is extremely based and it's important to help keep the track open. I probably should have gone to the drag strip last night instead of watching ARCA, but oh well. There's always next weekend.
Anyways, have fun and post concessions!

Is she from the northeast? That's just part of driving up there. Also, turn signals are seen as a sign of weakness. Most people don't take it too seriously because they do it all the time, too. It might not be so well received down south.

Based. I'm 6 am to 2:30. It's pretty great for daily erands and watching vrooms. (Except all those dirt races that don't have the A main until 11:30)
I turned down quite a few offers of night/weekend shifts for a job at a place that isn't even open at those times. Also, I can usually at least listen to if not watch anything that's on during the day. I.e. the Weenie 500.

It was a series for Tony and his buddies to goof around. If he had done rally driving, we probably would have seen some rally drivers. I would be interested to see a WRC driver in a dirt late model, too, though.

There just were not that many NSX GT3 cars built to begin with and I'd guess the support infrastructure wasn't ever that great either. They made 310 Audi R8 LMS GT3 cars, including all evo versions and, if they coppied their cousin Porsche's homework, they would have had killer customer support, including massive spares packages. You typically don't buy just the car, you usually get a fuckton of parts with it. Stuff like body panels, breaks, axels, an extra ECU, so there are probably a ton of extra bits in existence for the R8 already. The NSX, not so much.

Sad to see him go, but I don't think the team will have a hard time replacing him. It's a decent program and there are sonmany good drivers on the market.
>Toyotaβs Floury Calls For βUrgentβ Change to Fix βArtificialβ Racing
I think there are two things going on here. First, Ferrari showed up and actually provided some real competition for Toyota. Second
>the WECβs sporting regulations forbid direct criticism of the (BoP) system
Personally, I don't have a problem with BoP, but I think adjusting it every single race is ridiculous. If teams want to run a light car with lower power or a heavier car with more power, they should be able to, but they should also have to live with that decision for a while. Maybe have a mid-season joker where they can change some stuff and adjust any gross discrepancies as they show up, but otherwise, leave things alone for most ofnthe season.

>Fuji Sprint Necessary for Future WEC, IGTC Tie-Ups
What is going on here? The only real reason I could see to run support races for WEC would be to gain international attention for the series, which is about the last thing I think SGT wants. All that other stuff, the sprint races and all that can be done on any other weekend and I fail to see what anything done at Fuji would have to to with Suzuka. Otherwise, I'm totally stoked for some SGT sprint races. Anyone who thinks they would be boring has never watched IMSA at Long Beach. It's basically just starting at the end of the race, except the entire feild is still in contention. It's also a great opportunity to introduce new fans to the sport sice it cust out a lot of the more confusing elements of endurance racing. I love endurance racing, but I would also love to see more sports car sprint races.

Yeah, they are definitely not the hungry young company they once were. They are old and bloated and desperately trying to hold onto whatever they can, much likenthe Big 3 while the Japs were coming up. Now, the Koreans are eating their lunch and they don't know what to do about it. If Hyundai entered IndyCar the shitting of Honda would be complete.
I wish they would make a sports car or at least a coupe of the Stinger and Genesis, but apparently the faggots that buy new cars want cuckmobile crossovers.

The Stinger is also longer, narrower and taller, but I think it's more of a skill issue, but I actually have never driven one.

Yeah, I can't really get excited about Hyundai, but I'm always glad to have fresh influence in racing. The only real concern is longevity. Honda may be a bad partner for a lot of reasons, but they have stuck around for a long time. The only real concern with Hyundai is that they might have a change of priorities or leadership and pull out after a few seasons.

A pretty based selection of artists for sure.
For me
>Prince
Pussy Control or Darling Nikki
>Dire Straits
Money for nothing, sultans of swing (basic, I know)
>Guns 'n Roses
Its so Easy, Mr. Brownstone or Rocket Queen (That album is full of killer songs)
>Eric Clapton
Not my bag. Don't love him, don't hate him, but Cream is absolutely amazing.

Doesn't Subaru sell more cars than Nissan now?
But anyway, of those three, Nissan is the only one that has a reputation relying on their motorsports ventures.
