>>149852491>muh garrinchaThis is pure, unadultered cope. Garrincha was great, and he was key in winning both 1958 and 1962. Just like Zagallo, Didi, Nilton Santos, Bellini, Gilmar, Zito, and all of the rest of the team. And still a 17 years old Pelé scored 2 goals in the 1958 final. And still it was Pelé's Santos dominated Brazilian football, not Garrincha's Botafogo. And still it was Pelé who scored 6 goals in '58, Garrincha scored none. Mind you, he was 17. Even in '62, the Cup where Brazil was supposedly "carried" by Garrincha, he shared the top goalscorer position with Vavá.
Garrincha was a great player but comparing him to Pelé is absolute nonsense. Pelé was more successful for his club, more successful for the NT, had a longer career, had a higher peak, and was universally acknowledged by all as the best player of the two. With the exceptions of Eusébio (who hated Pelé) and Jairzinho, none of their contemporaries have ever said Garrincha was better. Not even Garrincha's teammates Zagallo, Didi or Nilton Santos.
