I get the criticism that he’s boring but if you actually like golf you can’t not be impressed with Scottie.

Homie just hits fairways, hits greens, and makes putts. No meme ass bomb and gouge. No fucked up putting routine or style. He’s just good. Guys like Tiger and Phil were exciting because of their creativity and clutch moments they put themselves in by fucking up earlier shots. Scottie’s control and discipline is insane. You're missing the point, golf tournaments are 100X tougher than any other sport.
The big 3 are good at tennis, that goes without saying but just being a little better than most of the others is a huge advantage due to draw structure.
The reason so many tennis finals were 2 of the big 3 facing each other is cause they didn't play each other until the final. And their opponents on the way to the final were way inferior.

Meanwhile in golf you're always facing the best player in the field.
In R1 of a tennis tourney you need to be better than your opponent while playing the exact same weather conditions, using the same balls, etc.
In golf the wind on the hole you're playing could be way worse than the holes Rory or Scottie are playing at that same time.
Your lie could be way worse. You're playing a different course but trying to shoot an as good or better score compared to the greatest to ever play, not some ATP 346 ranked player.
That's why domination is so rare and what Scheffler is doing is so impressive.
Tournament tennis is child's play compared to golf.

Competing against every other player in the field simultaneously in golf means that you're almost certainly going to have to beat somebody's 99th percentile performance to win, it requires a different level of perfection compared to tennis where you probably only have to beat one of the top players once or twice, you can catch guys on off days or have your top competition lose to underdogs along the way. It's why there are multiple tennis players with over 20 majors and none in golf

That's a recent phenomenon though. Prior to the Big 3 it was Sampras leading the pack at 14, and prior to that it was Borg with 11. No one else had 10. So it was two guys with 10 or more majors, similar to golf which had three such people, but two in the modern era (Tiger and Jack). Making all of the surfaces play similarly fucked it up because the best baseline players automatically became the favorites at every major.

Golf is definitely more "difficult" because it's impossible to hit perfect pin-point accurate shots every time. There is a lot more luck involved compared to tennis which is way more physical and the format is obviously completely different.

I dont think "luck" has much to do with it. There are elements of "luck" (or things that a player doesnt completely control) in every sport. Athletes are humans, they're not perfect. There is always a statistical dispersion around any action in sports, whether it's a golf shot or a tennis serve or a baseball pitch, or literally anything else you could think of, the outcome is not completely in the players control. That's a fundamental part of what makes sports interesting, it's not at all unique to golf.

There's definitely luck involved. Like striping a drive down the middle, hitting a pinecone, and having it go straight right into the trees, leaving me with a punch ou,t whereas my playing partners who hit their drives into the rough still had shots at the green.
