>A bunch of college students publish a paper proving Mark Stone's injury from January 14th 2023 to April 17th 2023 was faked, as if it was minor the injury would've lasted a month and if it was as serious as they said it was the injury should've lasted into late June
>League pays no attention as Vegas goes all in without hesitation
>Tampa sells merch bragging about winning the cup 18 mil over the cap which was testing the limits of the CBA itself even with the allowed cap room for injury
>League does nothing
>Numerous refs have shockingly imbalanced win/loss ratios for smaller market teams or Canadian teams (see guys like Chris Rooney or Jean Hebert reffing Canadian teams)
>Sam Bennett attempted to elbow Stolarz 3 times before landing the hit
>League sees no attempt to injure, doesn't investigate
>Cats intentionally injure multiple Lightning players
>League doesn't investiag
>Colin Campbell is Exec. Vice Pres. and Pres. of Hockey Ops. for the NHL
>Son is assistant GM for the Cats
>CC has been caught paying off refs when his son played in the league, yet somehow he clearly won't do this when his son is Assistant GM, we should give him a higher position in the league!
>Oilers investigated for 2 mil of LTIR overage after only having spent part of Kane's cap hit merely hours before the deadline was over, and they had sent the paperwork confirming that doctors had operated on Kane in August/September and that the additional surgeries were absolutely necessary and he would not be able to play until April
>Edmonton played Kane almost a week ahead of schedule for game 2 against LA
>CBA is completely changed after the league can't find any possible way to bury the Oilers
>This didn't happen for Vegas, Chicago, Tampa, LA, Florida
>Edmonton ended up being UNDER the allowable cap even under the new CBA rules
>New CBA would have Florida at 8 mil over the cap

I'm not some Habs fan butthurt over Price not getting his cup, or a Jets fan coping over Hellebuyck breaking down, hell, even as an Oilers fan we deserved to lose the cup this year. Outside of the missed call in game 2 that could've probably ended with us winning, we deserved to lose games 3, 5, and 6 and I'd argue we barely deserved game 4. That cup probably isn't ours a majority of the time. But seriously, what the fuck. We aren't even gonna talk about the Rags miraculously landing Laf, or even some of the other draft things surrounding Ovi, Sid, or Davo. And that isn't to say all things are rigged, Nashville's no-call in I believe game 2 because the ref lost sight of the puck is unfortunate but it isn't unprecedented and the games outside of that were fairly balanced as far as playoff reffing usually goes.

But seriously, this league has such a blatant issue with a lot of rigging and favouritism it's insane

Course you'd say that you fucking yank. Didn't even say that it was 100% against Canadian teams, if it was Edmonton would've dropped out to LA 4 years in a row. How can you explain everything else? What about Tampa winning 12 mil over the cap against Dallas? Vegas winning 9 mil over the cap against Florida? I'm not saying it's stacked against Canada there, so tell me, how do you explain the lack of investigation or intervention there? What about Stone's injury having actual medical evidence of it being faked yet when Edmonton uses up less than 40% of Kane's 5 mil cap hit 3 hours before the deadline ends to make sure they have the proper paperwork filed it triggers a league-wide investigation? That isn't specifically a Canada issue, but it is strange how especially Florida, Tampa, and Vegas, all teams Bettman is very fond of, have gotten away with twisting and stretching the limits of the rules and yet the one time someone outside of those teams sees some success it's an immediate shutdown and investigation?

wrong, faggot. it is rigged for whatever markets need an upstart or revival of ticket and jersey sales. which, in the NHL right now, is the southern markets.

None of those teams broke any rules so I don't know how that's supposed to be giving them unfair advantages. There was no cap in the playoffs. Some teams took advantage, some didn't.
Vegas iced a "cap-compliant" team every game of their Cup run and would have under the new rules as well.
>yet the one time someone outside of those teams sees some success it's an immediate shutdown and investigation?
Kucherov was investigated. Also Chicago won the Cup while "over the cap".
Anonymous Canada No.149923185 [Report]
>>149918594
Kucherov was "investigated". The Oilers were told that if they activated Kane for game 1 they would be penalized and then the rule was immediately changed. Not changed to something straight forward, changed to an even more complicated bullshit so new loopholes can be exploited by Gary's favored sons
Anonymous Canada No.149925489 [Report]
>>149918594
There was still cap limits under the old CBA for LTIR. And again, if med students could prove using all available information about Stone's injury, why was there no investigation? If everything was good, why no information on the matter after the fact?

Kuch was subject to internal investigation, the same as Kane, and Bill Daley cleared their findings, Why did that not trigger any flags for Bettman then? Kuch was iced for game 1, Oilers got told if they did that they'd be searched and they didn't, why the search anyways? Why the investigation when both teams went through almost the exact same procedures?

Vegas iced a roster that wasn't even cap compliant, they were about 2 mil over under the CBA since they were playing Jonathan Quick. You also have to consider this, dead cap. If you want to critique the Oilers, part of their overages this past season were almost entirely from the Campbell buyout. You have to factor in for Vegas the 1.2 mil for Nolan Patrick, the 5 mil for Lehner, and 5.69 mil of Shea Weber's dead cap, which is entirely different from LTIR.

Vegas explicitly broke the rules by faking Stone's injury to some capacity. If you wanna say the Oilers did that for Kane, why not blame Vegas as well? Why not call for that investigation? If Kucherov's internal investigation and and medical reports were enough to clear him without suspicion, why did the rules need to change when Edmonton went through an identical process? A majority of Edmonton's 2 mil overage this past season was from Campbell's buyout, why is 18 mil not subject to the same level of scrutiny 2 is? Why was Vegas not scrutinized for over 14 mil of cap overages from buyouts, dead cap, and LTIR combined?
