The second round of the 2025 Betfred World Matchplay draws to a close on Wednesday evening at Blackpool's Winter Gardens, as tournament favourite and World Champion Luke Littler plays European Championship runner-up Jermaine Wattimena. Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen faces an in-form World Cup winner in Josh Rock and 2022 runner-up Gerwyn Price takes on sixth seed Chris Dobey. Former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding and one-time World Grand Prix finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode open the evening's action.

Coverage starts at 7:00pm UK time on Sky Sports Lions (Sky Sports Action).

Darts commentary has always been a joke with people like Wayne chatting absolute rubbish over matches. Does anyone think there's a chance for improvement any time soon?

I thought Matt Edgar getting commentary spots was a step in the right direction, but as soon as he started going more mainstream he fell into the trap of playing it safe and just started gobbling the cock of Littler and taking all the PDC approved media stances on issues.

In the run up to these matches for example it was "Price will be a close match, and that's a match. For Littler it'll just be a game for him tonight as he wins, not a match."

And well we've all seen now how that shill opinion has not matched up with reality.

Part used to be alright before he adopted the whole attacking and defensive darts nonsense. Shit commentary is unfortunately a disease that spreads between them though.
