christmas period is going to be extra tough this year with AFCON on
I don't know where else to ask this, if mods need to remove it I understand.
I'm American. I got into football about 10 years ago. I supported a major team, mostly because they were/are frequently on TV. Went to a match in the UK a while back, bought a jersey, learned the players. I get to visit the UK again and I find myself not really caring about the same team and wanting to adopt a new team. The management and team culture of the original team is trash and I found myself last season hoping they lost some games. Is it frowned upon to switch allegiances or to be a fan of the bunch of teams? . I have found myself getting increasingly into the sport over the years, as American sports have way too many commercials. I really just like the sport, but I notice to even buy tickets to a PL match you need to buy a membership. With American sports, I've always been a fan of my local teams, but it feels different when the sport is in another country. Guess I'm just curious for some thoughts

Can someone explain to me, without memeing, why Barca would want Rashford even on loan?
He is absolute hot garbage. Even at his best he is not up to Barca standards.
His attitude stinks, it's not a matter of if but when he starts behaving badly again, whether partying, or being lazy in training/matches, and causing problems in the locker room.

As a United customer, Rashford is very frustrating and I'm glad he's gone but he CAN show flashes of world-class quality
I guess Barca are hoping that Rashford will be rejuvenated now that he's playing somewhere he actually wants to be, in which case he'd be a steal at £30m
I think it'll go similar to the Villa loan spell though, he'll look good in flashes but be fairly inconsistent, and they won't take the option to buy him

It seems like they’re hoping to recreate that season where he scored 30 goals as a winger in all comps. But I can’t ever see that happening again and don’t understand why they are stupid enough to think it could. Baffling decision from Barca honestly, but maybe they’ll prove us all wrong. I suppose Lel liga is a weaker league and he might just dominate and score loads again.

Fresh off years of defending a rapist, they're now nonces
Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all owned by Americans and are in a full on arms race whilst the Arab oil clubs are doing mostly nothing. What do they know?
>Former Premier League defender George Baldock died in an accident in his swimming pool in Greece, an inquest has found.
>The 31-year-old was found dead at his home in Glyfada, southern Athens, on 9 October 2024.
>A post-mortem examination found no drugs or alcohol in his system.
>The inquest into Baldock's death at Milton Keynes Coroner's Court on Wednesday confirmed his cause of death as drowning and senior coroner Tom Osborne concluded it was an accident.
>The Buckinghamshire-born Greece international had joined Panathinaikos in May 2024 after seven years with Sheffield United.
>He had previously made more than 100 appearances for MK Dons between 2009 and 2017.
>A post-mortem examination also found he had a very large heart "that would have meant he was susceptible to heart arrhythmias".

Fucking retards. Look at Barca squad, they pretty much only have Torres as rotation option for forward. Rashford can cover all front three, he will start against Getafe and the likes. And if he does great, he will be main left winger then Raphinha will play as 10 like Flick wanted.
You talk like he has always been shit, when last season where he underperformed he still had more G/A than Nico Williams.

How the fuck do you build anything competitive when those at the top pull up the financial ladder and then use their position and influence to manipulate the market and disrupt any team below them?
Sick of it man. I never wanted us to ‘buy’ success but I don’t see how you climb in the current football climate without sketchy economics.

I've watched Isak his whole career and he's very much a confidence player. That's why he always had up and down seasons. When you need the backing of fans to give you confidence so you can perform to your best then Liverpool is unarguably the worst possible club to go to. Go through a single rough patch and bullets start being left on your front wall.

Nunez would be great for Newcastle. No deal. I want them to suffer.
@David_Ornstein: Alexander Isak wants to leave Newcastle.
His absence from the club's tour to Asia was a preference of the striker
@mhardysport: Alexander Isak turned down a new contract offer from Newcastle, who were prepared to go to about £200k per week.
The striker wanted closer to £300k but any higher would create problems with PSR rules as well as creating dressing-room disharmony
@mhardysport: A move to Liverpool is more likely than a move to Saudi Arabia for Alexander Isak.
It is thought the striker wants to keep playing top level football at this stage of his career

Alexander Isak told Newcastle he wants £300k-per-week, as revealed on @talkSPORT last week. Not a number Newcastle can match.
Swedish striker’s preference is to leave and Newcastle are exploring other attackers in case a suitable offer arrives, and despite the club’s consistent non-for-sale stance.
Leipzig’s Loïs Openda and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa two names targeted. Brentford seeking £40m+ for Wissa. Newcastle preparing a new bid north of £30m.

Klopp was just too loyal. Wouldn't sell players when they were worth money and therefore couldn't generate the funds to purchase good players. Diaz is being sold for £80m, Quansah was sold for £35m, Elliott is being sold for £40m, Darwin might be going for £50m, so on and so forth.

Completely different topics and it's got nothing to do with Nottingham Forest, they were merely benefited indirectly by the shifting around of Crystal Palace.
One is financial fair play in the EPL, the other one is multi-club ownership regulations in UEFA competitions.
Crystal Palace used to have a minority shareholder in common with Olympic Lyon, and UEFA requires clubs with the same owner to have done some meaningless paperwork in order to ensure there's no unfair benefits due to having multiple clubs by the same owner in the same competition. They don't ensure anything and it's just bureaucracy for show but that's another matter.
The question would be whether the EPL has proper clauses in play that would forbid the trick the anon is pointing out, which I think they don't. That said, they'd have to convince the player in question that they super promise that they'll loan him back to play in the actual club they want to play at, as they surely couldn't make it part of the contract.
