ITS THE REAL NIGGAH HOURS
Mahomes > Brady
More TDs
More Wins
More Yards
More MVPs
More Accuracy
More Superbowls
More Passer Rating
I think 2009 is an extremely interesting case study for raw stats and raw EPA vs this improved defense adjusted EPA.
If you just look at numbers, Brady went from 50 TDs 8 INTs in 2007 with a 117 rating, to 28 TDs (7th), 13 INTs with a 96 rating (9th) in 2009. Boxscorecels would look at this and think Tom regressed or that he had merely an "okay" season.
Naked EPA, in contrast, thinks Brady had a great season, giving him the 4th highest behind Rivers, Peyton, and Brees.
However my adj EPA also takes into account the pass defenses he faced. Brady faced one of the strongest pass defense gauntlets in NFL history.
If we look at the defenses faced by EPA, Brady played the top 8 EPA pass defenses 8 times, including the 4 best 6 times, and the 2 best 4 times (Jets, Bills). Comparatively Peyton and Brees played the 8 best defenses a combined 8 times.
When this is taken into account, Brady's adj-EPA/play jumps to 1st in the league.

>>149943054Here is the teams played that season. Blue = Brady, yellow = Brees, Orange = Peyton. Circles mean they played that team that year

0. Get in playoffs as Wild Card

Kyler Murray, we like Kyler Murray, but he's no Sam Darnold.

>>149943152Actual advice would be start doing stuff.
Go to the gym. If you're too socially anxious to do that, work out at home. Start asap. Buy a pull up system. Start a regular calisthenics routine and get jacked. Strength and muscle building should eventually start to feel good, plus since you won't quit, it will eventually give you a nice physique with which will help with confidence. It also increases testosterone.
Basic shit like make your bed in the morning. Get good sleep. Eat well.
Get some skills and get a job. Maybe join a boxing or MMA gym.
All of this might be too much at once, so it's okay to start slow. Start by cutting the alcohol and starting regular exercises. But you have to start.
I could really go for a warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie right about now.
>>149943195I simply don't believe that. He's incredibly intelligent and intelligent people learn quick. NFL level coaching to sort his lower body mechanics and help him identify pre snap blitzes+coverage. Those are the two areas he needs to work on. The rest of his game is polished enough to start in the league. I don't buy the developmental QB talk. He's high floor and unbelievably high ceiling
Preseason starts in 6 days, on the last day of July
O-H-I-O
>>149943215he needs to prove he won't turn over the rock
>>149943215>He's incredibly intelligentI'm very curious. How do you, who is the opposite of intelligent and a person who will never understand what being intelligent is like, determine that he is very intelligent? Some dude you think is smart told you so?
>>149943215Milroe has upside but he is a fucking retard

>>149943215He's a good kid but I wouldn't say he's football intelligent. And he's nowhere near ready to start regular season games.
>>149943223The fumbles were an issue in 24 not really 23. I'm not concerned about the picks I don't think he's particularly prone to them. You see the level of throws he can make
>>149943247I watch interviews and press conferences for each player I evaluate. I think it's an immensely underrated part of the process. You can tell by the language someone uses, how they enunciate and how confidently they carry themselves if they're intelligent or not. I don't want to use him as an example but listen to Jalen Milroe speak at his combine presser then go listen to Omarion Hampton at his combine presser. Tell me what you think is actually be interested to read what you observe without my take
>>149943261>>149943278If you say so. I'll still be here over the next few years and if I'm wrong I'll take the L same as if Bo Nix regresses or any other player I was high on

But yeah, so would you also recommend that people watch interviews and press conferences of the candidates of elections they are voting in? Is that very intelligent to you?
>>149943283>I watch interviews and press conferences for each player I evaluate. I think it's an immensely underrated part of the process. You can tell by the language someone uses, how they enunciate and how confidently they carry themselves if they're intelligent or not.i don't have an opinion on milroe but this is very true, it's a big reason why i liked tyler smith so much while lots of retards derided that pick at the time
color coding the peak consecutive years by Adj-EPA/play
>>149943314I haven't voted in the last two elections lol I don't give a fuck about my government after what they all did to the country during covid. Anyway comparing politicians to NFL players is false equivalence. Politicians will often recite statistics and talking points extensively before debates and steer questions asked towards those points regardless of the actual question asked. Players can't really do the same even with help preparing from agents because when you're getting questioned by a bunch of different reporters off the cuff no pre planned talking points are gonna save you if they don't relate to the question asked. You can tell when somebody is being disingenuous or trying to change the subject
>>149943317Nice one. It's rare you'll see a truly bad interview/answer but when you hear someone like Nic Scourton (late riser for me in this draft class) talk about rush plans his demeanor completely shifts. Kid in a candy store type deal. I love that personally but again evaluation is never an exact science
>>149943364I read your rambling but didn't see anything of value. With intelligence, one of the top QBs in last couple drafts scored way lower than everyone else on that new advanced intelligence test teams are using instead of the Wonderlific....the S2 cognitive test
>โThe test itself involves quickly identifying shapes and patterns and at no point is anyone answering questions. Itโs about vision, reaction time, and spatial awareness, and in that sense, is closer to a physical drill than a test.โNew test, highly recommended and praised, etc. So when he was the only top prospect to bomb it there was >doubt
Of course the press asked him about his poor test scores and his response was something along the lines of 'I'm not a test taker, I play football'
And it's true that people might be completely unintelligent in interviews, pressers, tests and everything else, but they are still good at what they are good at
You might have an auto mechanic, hair dresser, or whatever, look like a total retard in all their interviews, pressers, tests etc, but when it comes to fixing cars, or styling hair, etc, they are just good at, that kind of stuff happens all the time
As for Milroe, I don't even care if he's a good QB or not, Hawks drafted him because worse case you got a Taysom Hill, and the guy running the Seahawks offense is the guy that was running the Saints offense last year
>>149943518Yea no shit Wonderlic and S2 cognition tests were always dumb. I literally pointed this out in 2022 when people were shitting on CJ Stroud saying he was retarded for scoring the lowest in the class. You're the one bringing up tests when all I've talked about is listening to them in interviews and pressers which is the definition of a strawman argument. Don't reply to me again spazz
>>149943555Yes I brought up CJ Strouds test
Then you bring up CJ Strouds test
Then you say it's dumb to bring up tests
So you're calling yourself dumb, which is the first path to you seeing your first ray of intelligence
Congrats. This is a momental moment step in your development
>Don't blow it on getting all pissed bc you've been looked at as dumb by everyone your whole life
You dumb mutt I refuted your point about those tests I hadn't mentioned anything about Wonderlic or S2 cognition tests once before YOU did. You equated those tests with intelligence when all I had mentioned was interviews/press conferences. Autistic fuckwit
>>149943670I know this is extremely difficult for you with the one cylinder your barely functioning brain is working on, but I also said:
You might have an auto mechanic, hair dresser, or whatever, look like a total retard in all their interviews and pressers but when it comes to fixing cars, or styling hair, etc, they are just good at, that kind of stuff happens all the time
Right? You think you're intelligent right? So how did you miss that? I mean all these people that have told you how dumb you are your whole life, they also expect that you can read at a fictional level right? You could probably thought you mastered that back when you were age 7?
You can't admit you're wrong and you can't admit you used a strawman fallacy. Keep coping spazz
>>149943766>fictionalFunctional
But this problem you have with reading, and picking out basic concepts (like he responded to what I was saying while also adding something new but I get confused and only can only see one because my brain can't handle two processes and now I'm upset)
..
This isn't stuff you see from people who reasonably show signs of intelligence, right?
you will forever be stuck in being dumb as fuck until you learn to realize you're dumb. You can't even begin the journey to dumb to intelligent if you can't see how dumb you are
As for why you can't see how dumb you are, why you refuse, why it angers you... This happens to people that get called dumb their whole lives
Because they've been called dumb their r whole life, it's painful for them to look at themselves as dumb, which is the only way to progress to intelligence, so they stay stuck forever dumb..that's your life. But it doesn't have to be. You can grow

I'm just using python because I'm more comfortable with it.
If there's something you'd like to see, e.g. a given QBs career, the rankings for a given season, a graph like pic rel, I can do that
>>149947105Post a link to something not retarded is what i am asking. For example

>>149947416The problem with any statistic is that what we really mean when we say "Goof had a aEPA/play of 0.338" is that "on dropbacks with Goof as the QB, the Lions produced 0.338 aEPA/play".
Also Goof is pretty good.
>>149947105>>149947353Brees sucked his last several seasons after his arm went out, so your data there is all backwards. Only thing even keeping the Saints alive with washed Brees was their D. >>149947349My only guess is because he hired Stefanski (who I do think is a good coach) and they've made the playoffs twice in the last 5 years (after not making them in 15+ years) he's getting a mulligan on the Deshaun Watson deal. >>149947474>>149947637Brees had bad stats traditional stats his first two years as a starter (even or negative TD/int ratio, much lower passing yards and TDs than later in his career, sub-80 passer rating) so I'm not surprised the EPA stats look like that.

But speaking of nature, I like the northern California where mountains and oceans and desert are all like a day-away drive max, and Minnesota/Dakotas/Wyoming/Montana place, where was prairies with big mountains on background.
>>149948116>vast prairies
>>149947833first you start with games played each season right? Comparing a guy that played 4 games to a guy that played 17 is dumb right? Then you look at each individual game that season (did a guy have 8 good games all against weak opponents but sucked against everyone else? etc). By raw data, what I mostly mean is pulling up everything and using your brain to go over it all
A site for that is
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/
For individual games, go to game logs on top right of each player's page. That will help refresh your memory of what you saw on the field when you were watching those games at the time
with data it, as you can see, shows you a ton of raw data for you to use your own brain to analysis instead of cookie cutter equation like EPA that just make you and everyone dumber
go start learning, this will an exciting adventure for you, learning the game of American football
Oh but if you havent watched the games that youre using the data to refresh your memory on, then go watch the games. If you haven't watched all the games first then you shouldn't be doing analysis... plus the most fun thing is watching games right?

I enjoy watching NFL. Right now I'm watching Netflix's Quarterback show, and reading a football book.
But everyone naturally wants to know who the best QB is, and short of having infinite time and being having pro-level football knowledge and doing my own PFF-style grade for some large enough sample of QB games etc., best I can do is combine what I do know with some statistics. I use EPA because it's really good, and better than the box score.
>>149948116NYC is cool to visit for a day or two but I wouldn't want to live there. Not saying other don't love it, obviously. A shit ton of people choose to live there. Just not for me.
I live in Philadelphia and I love it. Small enough that it's easy to get around, but big enough that there's plenty of neighborhoods and things to do. Cleaner that NY, and has nice green spaces (tons on small parks everywhere). The people are friendly and happy to help out as long as you're not an asshole. The vibe is more authentic than places like NYC, people aren't pretentious or trying to play a role.
I like Boston a lot as a city. It's very pretty and also a good size. The people there don't really deserve it though. The most racist and obnoxious people in the northeast.
I haven't spent a ton of time there but the few times I've been to Chicago I've loved it. Esthetically nice, and lots of culture and food and stuff.

>>149948294best QB was probably Johnny Unitas. He redefined the position on level nobody else has. Otto Graham probably has the most impressive resume of the dynasty QBs that landed on great teams. With best QB ever, that's something only a retard thinks about. Each era of football was different, and each era got easier and easier and easier for QBs. So the more modern a QB is, the easier he had it
Joe Montana and Dan Marino each had like 16 surgeries because they didn't protect the QB like they did for Brady (the way they protected Brady was embarrassing to the game of football)
Had Brady played back when Montana and Marino played, he'd have 16 surgeries too and a much shorter career (and had Brady not made it to his late 30s, which he wouldn't have, his career wouldn't have been impressive, he'd have just those 3 early Super Bowl where he was a baby QB getting clearly carried on 2 of those 3 (Skip says all 3) then just epic choking the rest of his career.
but it's not just the QBs of previous areas were dealing with a lot more physical abuse on the field, they played with rules that made it much more difficult on the QB
Just one example: your WRs would go run their routes, and the DBs could just knock them off their routes at will
They played in the hard mode era
Brady was easy mode era
That's why comparing players from different eras is only something a retard would do

>>149948833Friends that are smarter than me are a blessing, is it that not common sense to you? That indicates you don't have any common sense
What's the most important thing to study and be smart at in a capitalistic society? Business, economics, finance
For that I nominate my friend J who is already has it set up where his kid gets 20 million in trust when she turns 18. She's only in grammar school and he's already taking her on college visits each summer
How did he make all that money on his own? He's great at finance, economics, business etc and spent a lot of time and studying to get that way. The way you dork it up about football he dorks it up about business. Went to MBA school sure but this guy reads ever book on every good businessman for fun, who does that?
He and I have run two successful businesses together we made a lot of money on when we sold them...where I was just the guy he hand selected as his partner
But football? He knows nothing about football because only retards study football instead of more important things (I am guilty too, but only after i set myself financially for life)
My friend? He loves football, loves watching the games on TV, loves going to the games in the stadium. But other than watching games he ignores football for things that actually matter
Way he got so rich was
several businesses he founded (well co-founded if you want to count me on the ones I he had me co-found with him, but it was his idea, he came up with it
2) real estate, he's like Trump, he's got tons of properties in tons of cities, most impressive is a whole street lined with huge apt complexes he owns. It all started with his first condo at age 20
But he didn't start off with a bunch of money from Daddy like Trump. He's actually self made

He's worked for a variety of the top Fortune companies and he's the guy that says in the white collar world, nobody watches the NFL, only college football
NFL is for blue collar people. Which I have found to be true in my own life. Go walk into any restaurant kitchen during game day. You'll see them all watching NFL passionately but you won't see them watching college football

>>149943555Congnitive tests are there to detect outliers. The difference between some guy having a 50th percentile wonderlic or a 60th is not significant but when someone has a 90th percentile score you know you're dealing with someone unusually sharp and when someone gets a Lamar-tier "well, you spelled your name correctly" score you know they have some mental deficiencies.
Regardless of whatever other talents you have, being hyperintelligent is usually beneficial and being functionally illiterate is usually not. It's not that you can't have some success even as a retard, but any sort of severe deficiency, physical or mental, is a liability that may limit your upside.
Vince Young had all the physical tools but never made it over the hump, in part because he was just dumb as a bag of bricks. Kyler Murray was bottom of his class and he infamously had to have film study written into his contract because apparently he wouldn't do it otherwise. Deshaun Watson was bottom of his class and, well, we all know how that turned out. Lamar Jackson is probably the best case scenario for an outright dumb qb and his career will be defined by a chronic inability to sustain drives against good defenses in the playoffs. Stroud had a good season once and we have no idea if its sustainable. Everything people are saying about Stroud is the same shit they were saying about Watson a few years ago. If you have 11/10 athletic ability being mid IQ might not kill your career but it probably shortens it little and will manifest in some negative way at some point. If the most important player on your team is shortbus-tier, you'd at least want to know before drafting them so you can make an informed decision

I wish we knew who today were direct male descendents of every Roman soldier that served honorably
all male line of descent too, based on son to son to son to son. Grated many of those lineages have died out due to no kids or now sons but there should be plenty still alive today
18 games when? 2 preseason games are enough
>>149951630>>149951640>Maybe it has something do with Mahomes' and Kelce's massive contracts when they aren't playing up to expectations. If most of your WRs are trash and your O line is spotty it's going to be harder for Kelce to get open. I really think it's the Jawaan Taylor contract. The guy is getting paid elite money but is playing like garbage. Hopefully Veach learned his lesson and will never give 60M guaranteed again.

If you're the NFL commissioner how would you fix the problem of teams giving up late in the season once they're out of playoff contention?
-A play-in tournament with all the bad teams?
-Add extra draft picks for teams that win late in the season?

>Sources: At least 100 players face penalty over Super Bowl tix
>At least 100 players from roughly half of the NFL's 32 teams face fines and possible suspension for allegedly selling their allotted tickets to this year's Super Bowl LIX above face value in violation of league policies, multiple sources told ESPN.
>Under an agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association, players who violated the rule will be fined 1ยฝ times the face ticket value and lose their allotted tickets to the next two Super Bowls. If they are playing in the game, the players will have the chance to purchase seats.
>Those who decline the punishment could be suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell, league and union sources with direct knowledge of the situation said.
>The sources said that the number of players involved was "in excess of 100," some of whom have already accepted the fines to avoid missing games. A league source declined to identify the players and employees who had sold their Super Bowl tickets or their clubs.
>"Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket's face value in violation of the policy," read the memo from NFL chief compliance officer Sabrina Perel to the teams.
