Unfortunately, despite the above having some impact, we are still in heading in the wrong direction.

Even in very highly moderated match threads, the fast pace of comments means that any instance of toxicity can cause a toxic snowball effect by setting a wrong baseline for folks who have seen a toxic comment. They then think it is the acceptable norm, and give themselves license to react with toxicity themselves. And so we snowball.
