He’s a player that even fans of rival teams can’t fully hate. Thank fuck he got one trophy with Spurs so he wasn’t completely wasted there and avoids being in the discussion of “best player to never win anything”, but like Kane he could have won so much more elsewhere.

He went from big (Hamburg) to small (Leverkusen) to tiny club (Tottenham). But for an Asian player, he definitely left a mark and had an impressive career

Great footballer. Spurs legend. Premier league legend. Lots of ability, loads of energy, scores goals, disciplined, loyal...

Should have ran the fuck away from Spuds after 5 years tops. At last 'Arry has won some trophies, even if they came late.

I hate to say it, but Son‘s EL trophy is worth more than a Bundesliga Schale won with Bayern. Had he won it with any other club, Kane would mog Son here. Both have this single trophy as it stands
Regarding his career: as a HSV fan, I was very sad when he left for Leverkusen. It felt kind of humiliating, he was a fan favorite and left for a plastic club … that was doing much better work than >us in these dire years of course. I somewhat dislike Leverkusen and Tottenham, but Son made them somewhat okay. He had a great career, was a class player for a long time

>Legend
I wouldn't go that far, for me he's firmly in cult hero status. He just didn't win enough and wasn't exceptional enough to be a legend

Who's won enough in most fans' living memory though? Hoddle and Hazard were 45 years ago. Gazza and Lineker won the last big trophy 35 years ago. No one cares about the League Cup but Spurs fans still adore Ledley King as a hero.
As far as I'm concerned Son's a legend at the club, he stuck around through the good times and the shit, unlike Kane who was angling for a move years before Levy finally got his hooks out of him.

Never quite reached Korean legend status by losing Asian cup final

Didn’t start Europa League because he was washed basically, got subbed on and he basically did nothing

His status? A minor character in the Ange Postecoglu era of football, his career ultimately dictated by him

Should have replaced Mané at Liverpool; he'd be a Premier League legend if he did.
