I never said it has anything to do with the club. The dish has that name for a reason though, and the reason is that it is very likely more or less based on other dishes that originate from Hamburg in a way. As I said, the Rundstück and the Hamburg-style steak, eventually leading to what is now known as "the" hamburger.
Hamburger SV obviously didn't invent the modern hamburger and neither did anything else in Germany, but the word "Hamburger" simply means "from Hamburg", and that is true to a degree for the dish ... and it is obviously true for the club
People from Hamburg founded the club HSV and named it after their city while at the same time, a dish was developing that also carried a name related to Hamburg. It's very obviously different from the other situation (and the crest still isn't anything special in my opinion even if you leave the question of representation aside)
