Mind sharing some 4chanX filters, to get rid of the general rubbish?
If the price of so many manufacturers entering wec is that the cars are the slowest prototype racing cars in modern history and the details of design are less important than playing political games and abusing badly thought out systems then what is the point?
If expense is the issue then it can be overcome by just sticking ~2000hp engines on the cars, when you've that much power drag doesn't matter as much, so you can make really draggy high downforce cars. Give the manufacturers freedom in engine design and it would be relatively cheap to makes these engines.
Group C was a fuel efficiency formula and was still great, so make engines with practically unlimited horsepower but limited fuel.
So much of top class modern motorsport is pegging the cars back, this is done in literally hundreds of places, i refuse to believe that these excellent very competent engineers can't find a single way of making the cars go quick cheaply. Standing still in terms of lap time until the safety improves is one thing, but actually going backwards compared to the previous generation (which themselves were subject to so many restrictions) is just pathetic.
If there's not going to be even the slightest pretense of having a contest of engineering between the manufacturers, then just say fuck it and make everything a spec series - at least then the racing is sure to be good.

all IMSA races (except maybe the Long Beach/Detroit street races, and the GT3-only round at VIR) should be at least 6 hours because you gotta factor in time for cautions. plus by the halfway mark most of the worst pay driver shitters should have shitted themselves out of the race and the real race can begin. that or stop the clock during caution periods.

the reason BoP exists is because manufacturers want it. yeah they might bitch about how they were BoPped unfairly in a given race or season, but they love the overall BoP system because it saves them money. it enables them to say they are in racing for marketing purposes without actually having to out-engineer the competition, which is very expensive. if they had to actually make a faster car with a better engine like in the past, costs would go through the roof and they would all quit.

needed more mileage, i dont think they would have benefitted with more races instead of more testing. More so bc in races they have less flexibility to change or try things out. For the things they needed to sort out (suspension, engine durability for example) would been enough to test the shit out of it.
but they didnt do too much testing either...

It wouldn't be very hard to make a car capable of doing 400 kph. The problem is driver survivability in the event of a crash. Just look at Pagenaud, he wasn't even really going that fast and he got some series head trauma. It's also quite dangerous for the spectators. This is why you often see new cars under new regulations going slower than previous generations when they come out. It gives them room to develop speed without getting unnecessarily dangerous. Even the old ass DW12 could be a lot faster if they just turned up the boost. NASCAR, too if they just allowed more air into the engine.

When they open the pits under yella they have to let each class pit by themselves (GTP and GTD don’t pit at the same time under yellow for example) and then they let cars un-lap themselves relative to the class leader. And when they have 3 classes of cars late in a race, it fucking takes forever
>>150101285
They just need to either do local cautions or if there's nothing to clean up call it a shorter FCY with none of the shuffling stuff. Its frustrating when they do all that nonsense just cause a car spun out. They should just do something like F1 where a FCY just locks the field in place quick to get a car out of the way for a minor incident and then the full safety car for bigger things.
>>150101399
The local cautions at Le Mans are pretty smart and I like those, but that makes sense since de la sarthe is tremendously fuckhuge.
But yeah a virtual safety car period to get a car back on track at a big track like road America that only lasts like 2 laps should be the procedure

the one thing I hate about hindy that he is absolutely blindly biased, and I guess because he is very-very dependent on their broadcast contracts.
I nearly never hear him criticizing race direction or things like that, he always polishes the dick of everyone in the broadcast how fantastic was even the wors yellowfest or slurper.
The retired drivers in the official WEC commentary or F1TV shit live on air on steward decisions or race direction pretty frequently so that means they have a free speech on that

Sounds like you're correct. Toyota had him signed, but went ahead and bought him out to run Friesen's truck (after this next race). Very weird situation and a kick in the nuts for Niece. They took a lot of heat with the release announcement, but there was obviously more to that story. Pretty shitty of Kaden Honeycutt, too. Should have finished off his commitment and ran for a championship with Niece. Burning that Chevy bridge at this stage in his career is a very poor choice.

Toyota's hands were tied since they can't bring in guest drivers from cup or xfinity and Brent Crews can't run all the playoff tracks.
I think the only available TRD driver that can run all the tracks is Isabella Robusto, which would have been funny but obviously not good for Toyota or the #52 team.

While this is true, it's still a Toyota problem for not having a better development landscape. Honeycutt committed to Niece and had them in good shape to run for a championship. I get it's just the truck series, but that's a bad look for him. Way worse than when Reddick bailed on RCR imo. Just completely fucked over a Chevy team and burned a manufacturer bridge before he even made it to Xfinity.

Idk how did you feel guys, but on sunday after the rally ended It really felt short. Like if there was no proper amount of rallying, even though they ran the whole 300+ km of special stages.
And yeah it was not just the fastest, but the shortest full lenght rally finland ever. I just wish with the new framework and the rule givenpossibility to have a longer route, for these fast rallies like this or sweden, it was lenghtened to at least amount for 3 hours of special stages
1 Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo 3:19:06.2 | 333.06km
2 Rally Sweden 2:33:39.2 | 293.84km
3 Safari Rally Kenya 4:20:03.8 | 383.1km

The reuse at least would turn down the onboardfagging a bit. With the longer rallies with how small differences are it could make similarly exciting rallies I do think, with a linger rally there is more chance for making mistakes, etc. In Estonia we've seen Tanak and Neuville changed places like 6 times in a day.
More so if there would be just a bit more (like 3-4 competitive) rc1 entries, so the leader would be too much behind in the road order and not in the ideal position

The whole reason rich amateurs were in sports cars was because there wasn't supposed to be the bumper to bumper, fender to fender diddling of other forms of racing so they could be reasonably assured to go back to their job Monday with their health and car intact. If you're just going to destroy your shit on endless staged restarts for an imaginary TV audience you may as well just race ARCA.

I mean, is there a gnarlier track to test your new car on than the Nordschleife? so I agree in theory that it is worthy as rigorous test track. but considering most drivers will never go that fast or reach that level of driving skill, it might be overkill. but I don't think it's a bad thing for a car to be able to handle much more than the average driver could ever do. cars should be robust, perhaps even overengineered.

Just because a bunch of nocars use it to prop up fallacious arguments doesn't mean it's a completely invalid empirical measurement. Just look at what Porache did to get the best overall lap time with the 919 or how everyone, including people ITT were sucking the Verslurpin dong when he posted a good time in an uninspected GT3.
It might be a bit overrated, but it isn't meaningless.

Like so many people you fail to realize there is a third option. Just remain relative objective. None, according to the seperate article dedicated to Osprey crashes. It appears to be Marine Corps Ospreys that are particularly susceptible to crashes, AFSOC has lost only one, the most recent crash, which was late 2023, not 2024 like I said earlier. Gomenasai. The latest version for the Navy (squids operate two different variants) that is intended mostly for shipborne resupply ops has suffered no crashes so far, despite entering service in 2019.

>>150112813
I wouldn't call it a flawed aircraft, as the other anon said it's half a chopper, and choppers have a nasty habit of dropping straight out of the sky. Frankly, it isn't even that uncommon for planes. I think the V-22s problems are threefold: 1) it can do more than a plane or a helicopter can, so it gets pushed a little too hard by the occasional pilot or CO and it crashes, 2) relatedly, because it is both helicopter and plane, it is at risk of both the kinds of physical conditions that cause planes to crash (for example, a compressor stall), and the kinds of conditions that cause helicopters to crash (for example, vortex ring state), and 3) the Marines famously fight for scraps in the budget, and that plus the oorah tempo-tempo-tempo jarhead culture probably mean they don't get nearly the amount of servicing they should, meaning shit wears out, breaks, and the bird crashes.
I suspect there's room to improve, and it's noteworthy that Bell's new MV-75 keeps the engines fixed and only tilts the rotors and the dirveshafts, since allegedly that will be the new Blackhawk replacement and Bell also built the V-22. But all-in-all, I think the V-22 gets a harsher reputation than it deserves.

It had flaws early on, back in the 2000s. I don't remember the details, and I'm too tired to look it up now, but I distinctly remember there being accidents during development and testing, and then early on in service, but they fixed those issues, which made it dramatically safer/easier to fly (but still not as safe as either a regular helicopter of fixed wing). I want to say it was something to do with the shape of the propellers? Idk... I also kind of remember hearing that in deserts, it kicked up a LOT more dust than regular helicopters, which led to loss of visibility and accidents. But I don't remember for sure.

I mean, hate it all you want but it's true. Billions disappear fast, in case you haven't noticed the ballooning federal debt, and when the choice is spending your cut of a surprisingly-small pie on routine maintenance or R&D for the latest shiny new toys, you know where it's going. To make matters worse, the Corps is merely a sub-component of the Department of the Navy, meaning it has to fight with all the admirals who want more subs or more carriers or more destroyers etc. Hell, when the crayonmunchers wanted to replace their M16s with a newer rifle, they had to backdoor it by insisting the weapon they were testing was an automatic rifle, something a little lighter to phase out the SAW in squads so they could be more mobile in counterinsurgency and the like. Only after they got it approved did they proceed to quietly outfit basically every jarhead with one, and then drop the charade and admit it was actually a new rifle.
Just because the feds spend shitloads of money doesn't mean they spend enough to do anything they want to do well. Again, the debt quite clearly proves they haven't been for decades.

It's not a refusal, it's a deliberate choice. He is more concerned with promoting racing with the people of his homeland than he is with engaging with a bunch of Anglos (or Celts, for that matter), which is actually pretty based, if you really think about it. If more Euros thought like that, maybe they probably wouldn't be in the state they're in. Maybe you should start posting in gay lick.

It's a trifle to translate in this day and age, but it is a site/board cultural thing to post in English. I never complain, but I especially don't go into the nation specific threads and complain about it.
If you don't think your country and culture are the best, fix it or go live somewhere else. I don't really have a problem with most cultures, as long as they aren't physically near me, kek.

He has an entire sim racing thing for kids in Brazil. He wants to develop more Brazilian drivers and if you haven't noticed, there are a ton already.
It might not hold a candle to divegrass in popularity, but there are a lot of Brazilian series plus, Brazil is the only South American stop for WEC and F1 and Interlagos is one of the best tracks on the planet. If you think there aren't a bunch of race fans using point of use shower water heaters, you're crazy.

I like my language, but I like english as well, I like the natural beauty of the country, I love my hometown, I love the historical culture and heritage of my nation.
But there are several things I hate and I know that even if change starts tomorrow, the root issues could only be rectified through multple generations, and at halfway between 30 and 40 It's hard to motivate myself to stay and wait to everything get way better when I will be 60.
I either find a motorsport related job in the next 5 years or I move to my childhood dream of Finland, even if this latter means my photography business will close.

Yeah, I watch it still in hopes that it will get better. I really thing eliminating stage cautions and the playoffs will fix most of what's wrong and exposed whatever is left so it can be fixed too.
>F1
>aren't allowing races in smol stuff of water?
The issue with F1 in the rain is they have ground effect cars currently and the insane negative pressure under the car lifts a ton of water off the track and it creates more or less a smoke screen. It's the same reason NASCAR and IndyCar don't run on ovals in the rain. Rally can get away with it because the cars are typically separated by enough time that it isn't a factor. Now, please, don't make me defend F1 anymore.

I feel the exact same way about Burger Land, but we can't be like the boomers and just sell out the melinials and zoomers. We have to support them while they make it better for their kids and grandkids, etc. I post a lot of USA #1 shit partly because I believe it and partly because I am psy-opping myself to help make it true. I think Bongland and Hungry and Canada and France and Brazil and Argentina and Ireland are all pretty cool, too. It would be boring if we were all the same.
That being said, if you can find a job you are passionate about and can make a living at, you should do that, wherever it takes you.

Very cool and Shelby pilled. Those are about $50-70 usd here.
For me, it's the early GTS in blue with white stripes. They are about $70-100 usd here.
Similar year Corvettes are mostly under $30k and as low as $15k for a high mileage C5. It's not as cool, but it they are still pretty cool. I think the Viper also inspired the C5 Corvette to be pretty good since the C4 looked pretty sad next to the Viper.

Kubica is certainly the more encouraging story here. I admit I was overly-pessimistic with my original statement. I'll amend it to say that he is unlikely to be as competitive. Kubica aside, it's hard to come back from really nasty crashes like that and be great. I think there's something to the line in Talladega Nights about seeing the fear.

But on the other hand, Ernie Irvan had a top 10 season and some wins after a basilar skull fracture, so some drivers can overcome it.

> The Indonesian government has previously signed a letter of intent with the promoter regarding the return of its event to the calendar. Indonesia last hosted a WRC round in 1997. New Zealand last featured in 2022, and China hosted its most recent WRC round in 1999.
> “I expect that we’ll be able to make an announcement, probably even in the next couple of months, for 2027. Yeah. It’s exciting. I mean, in general, as ever over the past few years, we have far more exciting opportunities than we have slots in the calendar,” Larkin said.

AKA the Chevrolet SS. It is a bad ass V8 sports sedan with the same name of Chevy's top trim level on may cars. It was also quietly unveiled at a small press conference at Daytona and not promoted in any other way. We could have had a great, cheap V8 sedan WITH A MANUAL, but Chevrolet didn't back it at all. I seethe about this at least two or three times a year.

They didn't even run 550 at any track you could believably be making that argument. Even with all the short track bitching none have been quite as bad as Keselowski leading 446 laps in the spring race at Martinsville immediately followed by Truex leading 464 in the fall.

what would make it even more interesting is the use of ai, could set precedent over the use of copyrighted material for image generation

that's the CLR (which looks even better imho)
The CLK never flew, only the CLR and the 911 (but don't talk about the latter)
I thought that one of the burger anons did these frogs btw

I've voted for Trump. 3 times. I want whoever this fucker is running the DHS Twitter account fired. I don't approve of my tax dollars being spent on causing bad PR for my favorite racing series.

I did a lot of them, but Singapore bro started too. I showed him how to use the magic select tool in Paint 3D and he got really good, quick. It's weid that all that was with a little over a year and a half. I scanned some Singapore obituaries and I don't think he's dead, so maybe he'll be back. I sure hope so.

The kind of people who would be upset by this are probably never going to watch IndyCar anyway.

Legal migrants are trying to pull the ladder up after them like crazy. They didn't move away from those people just to have to live by them in a new country, and yes, the irony is completely lost on them.
Still, it's a bit tacky.
