Cristiano at 33 was winning UCL, Nerman at 33 is at relegation zone with Santos and being eliminated by second division teams

This whole Ronaldo is hard work, Messi is talent bullshit makes people believe a dude that scored over 900 goals in his career is just a decent player who trains really hard
Even top players like Lewa, Kane and Suárez if they wanted and trained really hard wouldn't reach his level

Funny how every single neymeme apologist only ever use the same season (2014-15 and maybe 2011 with santos) as reference for this bitch ever being good
Shows his fans are all gigazoomers

Neymar was more entertaining. But Cristiano was objectively the better player by almost every standard.

I don't get that "entertainment" meme, what's so exciting about doing useless rainbow flicks against lel liga farmers? he didn't even do skills that often, most of the time he was playing pissy passy with his farca teammates whenever he wasn't diving and flopping
CR7 on the other hand had a certain aura on the pitch, his presence was felt even when he wasn't involved in play
Anonymous Brazil No.150107917
>>150107770
He had more flair and felt like a more creative player than Cristiano. The latter was undeniably more effective, but Neymar had a very unique set of skills that made him very fun to watch. Not just the flashy flicks, but the lobs, the feints, unpredictable movements, the assists, I remember looking forward to see what Neymar would've pull out next despite not having a high opinion of wingers myself and disliking him early on in his career. Cristiano felt too much like a machine to me.
It's not just Neymar. Even though Cristiano's career was better imo, Messi had something special about the way he played that made him fascinating. Cristiano felt like a PES toon with maxed out stats in comparison to the two of them.

In terms of skill, yes. Not to say that Cristiano is no talent and all hard work. He was the most expensive teenager ever when he joined United.
There's a bunch of similarities in their careers too. Both did well on a stacked team (Barcelona; SAF's United, Madrid), but couldn't hack it on worse ones (PSG, Juventus, modern United). And they were both floppers. If Neymar didn't exist CR7 would be the goat flopper.
But their paths diverged. Neymar cared more about money and his sister, while Cristiano went full statretard.
Overall, Neymar was more fun to watch. He did things that made you go WOW, that very few other players could do, if any. Cristiano was 'just' super efficient.
Anonymous United Kingdom No.150109101
Honestly think he (Neymar) was massively overrated, Ronaldinho had a far higher peak imo and I don't care about Neymar's stats considering how it all fell apart at 30

If CR7 was Brazilian and Neymar was Portuguese, Portugal would still have no titles, while we would've won another World Cup.

>Suárez
ermm, ackshually
Pooarez for a while was a couple G/A away from Ronaldo's stats while having a shorter career and worse teams. He was more important for banterpool than Ronaldo was for half his teams.

Ronaldo widened the stat gap since then due to Suarez giving up on football, but if he worked as hard and stayed as focused as Ronaldo he would likely have as many goal contributions as him. Probably more goals too if he became a tapin merchant like him.

In terms of actual talent Ronaldo is on that Van Persie, Van Nistelrooy, or whatever other "mid GOAT" tier of players that were kinda dominant in their generation for like two years. He just wanted success more than them

Neymar is the biggest broken promise in the history of football. So much hype for so little end result. No longevity and even at his peak, he was way more flashy than he was effective. He had the talent to achieve truly great things, there's no denying that. But in the end, it doesn't matter
Perhaps he could have been better than Ronaldo, but the comparison of what actually happened is just laughable

on a related note they fumbled Diego Costa in a time when their forwards were pure trash

We weren't ditching Luisão, Juan or Lúcio for some Marítimo shitter nobody knew about. By the time Pepe moved to Real Madrid, he was already Portuguese.
>>150112402
Diego Costa was mediocre for Atlético in his first couple of seasons and played a few friendlies with Brazil (none in which he scored any goals). Similarly to Pepe, by the time he started performing very well he was already with Spain. Even Deco who was a superior player to both by a huge margin can't be considered a fumble because joined Portugal just one year after Brazil won the WC with a very stacked squad. He would've definitely had a place in the 2006 squad, but it's usually a matter of timing.

Yeah, during MSN
It's not like he was playing for Alavés, he played for Barcelona for 3 or 4 years and was abysmal away from Camp Nou, one of the main reasons why Barcelona got btfo so many times at UCL so no, he wouldn't score 900 goals or even get close to that and that's someone really talented

Never watched cr7 and thought "wow I might be watching someone with the potential to be the best ever". Nerman had me really believing. Never rewound the vhs or dvr to see "wtf did the nigga just do?!?" like i have with Fenomeno, Ronaldinho, Messi, or Ney. Where you can't comprehend what they just did with their feet. Ney is more naturally talented but what does it matter at this point, Cristiano had a 10x better career. Still a neymarzette til death
