There is no evidence Caleb was ever a good (or even decent) NFL QB and now there is no evidence that Ben Johnson can somehow fix him.
Bears fans need to accept the reality that is right there in front of them and that the Bears will be drafting a rookie QB in 2026.
And if the Bears are smart (lol) they’ll tank this season to put them in a better draft position.

I’ve suggested that Ben Johnson’s contract with the Bears requires him to try and fix Caleb but if he can’t (and won’t) then he only signed the deal because he was guaranteed a rookie QB in the 2026 draft.

Camp does not matter. It's for evaluating depth charts and that's it
Mahomes had an awful camp in 2018, same with Stroud in 2023.
Mac Jones infamously had a great camp in 2022, and Zach Wilson did in 2021.
The only thing you can usually gather from camp is

I know we've beaten this horse to death but sometimes you just have to stand back and revisit the situation just to remember how fucking retarded this all is
>be the Browns
>expectations are so impossibly low that a coach who went 1-15 and 0-16 in consecutive seasons still didn't get fired until halfway through the next season
>the guy you drafted with the #1 overall pick, stuck on a winless team with what unironically might have been the worst coach of all time still sets the rookie record for touchdowns despite not playing the first two games
>two years later the team has its first winning season in more than a decade and not only makes the playoffs for the first time in 17 years but actually win a playoff game for the first time in almost 20 years
>this somehow fails to impress you so you don't sign your #1 pick who just led your joke of a team to a playoff win, to an extension.
>In fact, you seemingly decide that you hate the fucking guy for no apparent reason and blame him for no getting your elite team to the super bowl or something
>let him play hurt knowing you're going to dump him anyway
>in one final dick move, trade him to the Panthers
>use the cap space to sign a free agent who spent the entire previous season sitting out because of a contract dispute
>and who might be a serial rapist
>and even he thinks your team isn't good enough for him so he says no
>you have to offer him the most guaranteed money in history to change his mind
>and then he gets suspended because of the whole nonconsensual peanut oil thing
>the guy you dropped (who, again, was your own #1 pick) goes elsewhere. Plays great, wins another playoff game, gets the deal you wouldn't give him and everyone likes him
>the guy you chose instead becomes unplayable and untradeable and is $200 million of complete dead weight while also being a PR nightmare and everyone hates him

I truly want to know who drove the Deshaun Watson trade decision. The Falcons and the Saints were the two teams going in on Watson before the Browns came in last minute and made an offer+gave him the huge fully guaranteed contract. It'd be easy to just blame Jimmy Haslam but I want to know who convinced him. Was Stefanski the one in his ear? Berry? Some other exec?
>He’s now entrenched in the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) conversation. Brady won his third Super Bowl MVP when he was 37 years old. Montana was 33. Mahomes is just 28. “I’ve had at least one of the top three starts to a career,” says Mahomes. “I’ll put it that way.”

Jayden had the best start to a career since he played his rookie season, but since Brady won 3 rings early he overtook Jayden, but now that Mahomes has 3 Superbowl MVPs and 2 league MVPs he's overtaken Brady. Until someone does better than that he holds the title.

Learn what "objectively true" means please. I can argue Brady had a better start because he won 3 rings in his first 4 years as a starter. I can argue Jayden Daniels had a better start because he went to the conference championship in his rookie year.

At age 28 no QB has more MVPs, rings, TDs, or playoff wins. He's #1 in everything. That's the definition of best start to a career. Mahomes will hold this lead as long as he's able to win a 4th ring at the age Montana and Brady did.

Watching sports is inherently stupid and a waste of time. No matter what type of lipstick you try to put on this pig, we're all wasting our time being here. We all watch NFL for different reasons. I want to see history be made. I don't care for your team's QB since he's not making history whereas with Mahomes every TD or win he gets is resetting the record books since he's currently in the lead.

Don't think I don't notice the casual disrespect in those posts. You're all only mentioning the GOAT because you think he will fall off. He's had one great season and you're all using "sample size: 1" as a rhetorical tool
Let me be clear, Jayden Daniels will OWN this league for years to come. You'll show respect then

For some reason the Browns seemed convinced they actually had a super loaded team because they were looking at Mayfield like he was the weak link, which is just fucking funny in retrospect. But if their heads were that far up their asses they probably thought they were Watson's preferred destination and at worst they'd have to match the other offers but not blow them out of the water.
I don't think they just dump Mayfield for a whole lot of nothing unless they felt supremely confident about the Watson signing. Then when they got a reality check and realized he was prepared to go elsewhere they got backed into a corner and had to offer him whatever he wanted because he was the only marquee qb free agent and signing some ancient vet to a cheap deal after trading away your young #1 pick would seem like giving up on their delusional contender status.
And the real Ironic part is signing a vet for a cheap deal actually did work out with them with Flacco so they should have just done that and they'd still have a bunch of picks and cap space instead of Watson's useless ass

Jayden has the best start to a career since he made it to a conference championship with a lackluster defense.
>age 27
Brady won a 3rd ring and held the title of best start.
>age 28
Mahomes won a 3rd Super Bowl MVP and had 2 league MVPs. He now holds the title of best start.
>Age 33
Montana won a 4th ring he's now ahead
>age 41
Brady won a 5th ring and now is in the lead.

Holding the title of "best start to a career" just means at age x you have more than everyone else. Who at age 28 had more than Mahomes in terms of:
>Rings, Super Bowl MVPs, or league MVPs
>Playoff wins
>TDs/Yards

You know, people used to talk bout this kind of shit in a frivolous time-killing way but literally no one started fixating on this "doing x by x age" like it actually mattered until Mahomes came along. And you know why Mahomesfags do it? Because unless you fixate on this specific cross-era window there's really nothing to talk about.
Brady stepped over Mahomes twice and it's not like Mahomes can ever get that back. The head-to-head matchup will loom over this entire discussion and that matchup will *always* favor Brady. 2 years from now, 50 years from now, infinity years from now, it will still be 2-0 Brady. FOREVER.
For Mahomes' legacy to somehow supercede that irrefutable fact, he'll either have to win more rings that Brady did or statmog him so brutally it trumps the chmpionship + head to head argument. So he....either needs to win more titles than any franchise then then win another on top of it, or break every passing record in the books by a *significant* margin. And I hate to break it to you, but both of those are extremely unlikely. It took Brady superhuman, statistically anomalous longevity plus stupid crazy luck plus changing franchises and winning titles well into in his 40's to pull it all off.
He's the Jerry Rice of quarterbacks. You can have the hot start, you can even be ahead of him at a certain stage, but as you go further and further down the path, a separation always occurs. Rodgers is running on fumes at 41. Brees was absolute toast at 42. Neither Manning made it to 40. Roethlisberger didn't make it to 40. Brady won a super bowl at 43 and threw for 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns at 44. Do you guys realize that will probably never happen again? You really think the mutt's 360 noscoping his way out of 20 second dropbacks into his 40's?
The threepeat was the only thing he could realistically attain that would give him bragging right over Brady. And instead he got his shit pushed in. It's over. It will always be over

You could dismiss Peyton, Brees, and Rodgers by saying Brady had more rings, you can't do the same with Mahomes and it threatens you.
>For Mahomes' legacy to somehow supercede that irrefutable fact, he'll either have to win more rings that Brady
Wrong. If Jalen Hurts went on to 4peat nobody will give zero fucks over the 2022 win Mahomes had over him. You overrate the head-to-head. Also, it's not just going to be about rings. MVPs and individual stats will be a factor in the goat debate hence the reason Marino with 0 rings was ranked above Bradshaw who had 4 rings.

MVP voters refused to admit Brady was the straw that stirred the drink for years and were still screwing him over after he was the most successful qb of all time. I mean, seriously, how the fuck do you retroactively defend giving it to Rodgers in 2021 after Brady dad dicked him at home in the playoffs the year before and then had one of the greatest offensive seasons in history the next year? You had the consensus GOAT lighting the world on fire as reigning champ and everyone was like "yeah but muh advanced metrics."
Honestly, if there's one thing Mahomefags and Bradyfags can ought to agree on, it's that MVP voters are fucking stupid reactionary idiots who keep chasing narratives and trying to decide who "deserves" it instead of just giving it to who everyone knows is the best fucking player. Do you really think Lamar "deserves" to have the same number of MVPs as Mahomes does? Did you really feel Josh Allen was more valuable than Mahomes last year? MVP voters just love to zig when they know they should zag. They work for the associated press. None of them know shit.

You're rewriting history. Brady in his 20s wasn't him. Peyton was him. Mahomes was him. It wasn't until he got Moss at age 30 did he blossom into an elite player. The Rodgers, Mannings, and Brees of the world took his lunch money and he went a decade without winning a ring. He outlasted them and waited for guys like Peyton to retire to start ringpadding against newborn babies like Mahomes who didn't know how to read defenses yet. Look at picrel.

312 yards per game
43-12
102
And I know we're supposed to pretend like nothing that happens in the postseason matters but let's be real. >Except he did get it, and everyone saw him get it. They added virtual measurements so the refs can't make calls so bad it brings the integrity of the game into question again.
Hundreds of games have been lost by not getting the 4th down, yet when it happens to the Bills they have to change the rules.
>If Allen was using them regularly banning them isn't helping him
Hundreds of players have been woken up with smelling salts, why do they change the rules when it happens to their darling Josh Allen.
>You don't call football games midway through. This isn't like baseball where there's 52464352346 more games and no one cares if you just fast-forward through one.
They let the Chiefs redo a down and the league lost their mind, yet Allen gets to redo an entire game and you guys say nothing. Burrow ended up beating his ass again so no harm.
>No one wanted to give Lamar MVP again because they knew he would just lose in the postseason and make it seem like they made the wrong choice.
That's probably true but it's a regular season award regardless. All the logic used to give the MVP to Lamar in 2023 could not be applied to Allen. He didn't have the 1 seed, didn't win the head to head, and his stats weren't close to being competitive. It's the worst MVP we saw in the last 2 decades.

>the league can literally program any outcome they want
They could already do that. Shit, the whole reason this is a hot button issue is because a ref ignored forward progress and seemingly picked a spot out of his ass that could only have been right if Allen was carrying the ball on a string tied to his ankle. And that call just happened to ensure that Taylor Swift and the swiffettes made it to the super bowl.
The new system can't possibly be any more corrupt than things are now, so fuck it. Maybe this will result in less bullshit just because they'll have one less excuse
I just want sports gambling pushed back into Indian reserves, Vegas Casinos, and Shady Mob Bookies, a complete and total ban on their advertisement on broadcasts, and to never hear what ex-nfl players moneylines are again in my fucking life.
Is this too much to ask for? We can then work off the ref seethe afterwards

No, the only thing that has changed is now they can say "according to our data Allen didn't get the 4th down so now there's no debate about it, so kindly stfu". It is a powergrab by the league. The refs are just their puppets who obey their orders but sometimes they fail at obeying, this now gives them more control over their puppets.

What Brady did and what Jameis did aren't even on remotely on the same level. Jameis put up big numbers by indiscriminately heaving the ball with no regard for situation, context or outcome. That's why the team couldn't with him. He basically played every minute like it was garbage time.
Brady being just as productive with less than half the turnovers was orders of magnitude more difficult. A TD to INT ratio of 33:30 is pointless. It's like betting a thousand dollars to make 10 dollars in profit. It's just spinning in circles. Any qb with a live arm could go 30/30 if their coach just gave no fucks and let them memechuck like a lunatic playing three flies up. And Brady turned that circus into an efficient machine in one season without losing any of the explosiveness. What he did was a borderline miracle.

Brady had already won three Superbowls in five years and would win another four in nine years and during that eight year "drought", all were winning seasons with his worst season going 10-6 (after coming back from that season ending injury) and of course Brady and Patriots had already gone 16-0 two years earlier.

Jameis' numbers are empty calories that came at the expense of actual competitiveness. He was like an idiot driving a Lamborghini. You can't brag about how fast you were going if you flipped the car.
Brady put up numbers because he's the best qb of all time and as I already explained
>>150114559 the whole "he just did what Jameis did" thing is smoothbrain logic that ignores the actual results. If Jameis was empty calories Brady was nutrient rich superfood.
And Baker is better than Jameis but not as good as Brady, which is why he's wining more games than he loses but not three straight road playoff games and then a super bowl.
The C-minus qb couldn't get above .500, the A-plus qb won the super bowl and the B-plus qb wins an occasional playoff game. Everything is as it should be

Brady won zero SBs. The Patriots won 3 with Brady doing nothing
Then, once Brady got good, he went ten years in his prime, playing for a team with an elite D, without winning a SB. No other QB in history has been this shitty
At this point, Brady was a total laughing stock. But then he had that age 37 to 45 bonus career that nobody else got to have thanks to his great longevity genes and he took full advantage of that to rightfully be the GOAT of all the age 37 to 45 year old QBs
But below 37 QBs? Brady was B tier compared to the greats

Would Peyton, Rodgers or Brees have accepted the flip side of the New England philosophy, though? For one thing, Brady was always taking team-friendly deals to help them retain depth. He rarely dragged out negotiations, never got as much as he could have if he really pressed for it and spent most of his career being midly underpaid. Those other guys, Rodgers and Brees in particular, asked for as much as humanly possible and then just told their teams to figure out the cap situation.
And not only did Brady accept less money for himself, he accepted the defense being a priority and sometimes getting most of the money. He was frequently given scraps to work with so they could save money. Converted defensive backs, converted college qbs, undersized slot receivers let go by other teams. Shit, even when they got somebody well known like Moss or Corey Dillon it was still a bargain bin pickup. Moss was traded for one fucking fourth round pick because people thought he was in decline and an asshole. Would someone like Rodgers, who got assblasted whenever one of his guys was let go, or when the team didn't draft offense, be okay with a WR corps of other team's castoffs year after year? Would Manning have been cool with the Colts not drafting Edgerrin James or Marvin Harrison because they went defense instead?
And lastly, you know what benefits a defense? An offense that consistently moves the ball, converts first downs at a high rate and doesn't turn the ball over. Brady running an insanely efficient offense and coming up clutch in big games even when he was given spare parts to work with was a big contributor to the Patriots' ability to compete even when they were a defensive team. You guys act like it was so easy and Brady just needed to be there but we all know Bill's record as a HC without Brady, and we know how Brady did without Bill. Even in the early stages it was mutualistic.

It's like Chris Simms says, you put Rodgers on the Patriots, they do shit ton better than they did with a mid QB like Brady holding them back. Brady is basically like if you put prime Kirk Cousins on the Patriots, he'd win just as much as Brady

Brady has more INTs in the playoffs than he has playoff wins. If you want a QB who doesn't turn it over, then you do not want Tom Brady
>Brady coming up clutch in big games
When did this ever happen? The biggest moment, the biggest spotlight of Brady's career was when he went 16-0 and choked it all away. You think the Michael Jordans of the world do that?

There is no male athlete equivalent to WNBA players. Even a whiny, selfish diva like Deebo
>>150115181, or a rookie who turns out to be a bust, was at least good at some point, which is how they made the NFL to begin with.
WNBA players are just there by default because someone has to be. If you're tall and have a pulse, you're in. Caitlin Clarke is the most famous female basketball player of all time and her shooting percentages aren't even average by men's standards even though she's playing on easy mode with a smaller ball. NFL players get a percent of profits because the league is profitable. WNBA players get charity because their league has never made money.
Actually, now that I think about it the NFL equivalent to WNBA players are cheerleaders: vain bitches no one really cares about making money by piggybacking off other people's success who somehow still think they matter and deserve more money and attention just for existing at all.

He won SB rings at a higher rate with Phil Simms as his QB than he did with Brady as his QB. One of those rings he won with Simms, Simms didn't even play in the SB.
Bill with Simms won the Super Bowl what, 40% of the time?
Bill with Brady won the Super Bowl what, 35% of the time
Like Brady, Phil Simms was a great QB, they were pretty similar.
As for Brady and the Bucs (another Top 10 D), if you want to give Brady a Top 10 D with the Bucs then you have to give Bill a Top 10 QB for the Patriots if you want to draw any reasonable comparisons

The Falcons had the #25/#27 D in the NFL that year, same as every year. Falcons are well known for a perennial trash D.
And that year the Falcons had the #1/#2 offense in the NFL
When they went up 28-3, what happened there? You had Brady choking the biggest dick in history, the most unclutch performance in history. Ok, he made up for playing as you would expect vs a trash D, but him starting to play as you would expect is not "clutch"
You also had the vaulted Patriots D getting shredded, but at least they were getting shredded by the #1/2 offense in the NFL
Then what happen? The Patriots D came up clutch and shut the #1/2 offense down the rest of that game. That is clutch, right?
I mean if Brady was playing MLB for the Pats in that game, yes that would be clutch, just like the Pats MLB Dont'a Hightower did when he strip-sack Ryan to give Brady an easy 25 yard drive, that was big time clutch
Edelman also came up big time clutch in that came with the miracle catch
Hightower and Edelman were clutch in that game. Brady sucked donkey dicks then did as you would expect. That would be clutch if it was some rookie shitter but that's not clutch for a Tom Brady tier QB

Denn, meine Abgeordneten, was ist Europa?

The Baltimore Ravens have the most entertaining Quarterback and Runningback in the NFL. Even when they fail it's generally the most entertaining blunders you'll ever see. The defence gets a lot of sacks and can bully the fuck out of teams if we jump out to an early lead.
