Fans never took to him because of the weirdness involved with his transfer
It affects players a lot of they don't feel the love

It was a gamble
He did have a great season before joining arsenal though something like almost 40 G/A in a shit team like Lille was at that season
Barcelona was interested and Arsenal jumped in and overpaid for him
I'd they waited 1 season it'd probably be a 40m transfer and still would be a flop
