Racing is the biggest frustration factor because you need to be very rich and have good contacts. Being talented is secondary, but the workload still is immense
Not every kid with early and professional lessons gets really good, but it's kind of disillusioning how decisive talent and early nurturing can get you

Talent is very overrated in street racing, you just need to be well connected and be lucky enough to get signed by a top team.
The only place where talent actually matters is oval racing, and being good at karting is actually where most drivers are pulled from.

True, but it's really frustrating knowing every sports nig has been in the game since they were babies.

being even slightly off in your setup on an oval car is the difference between pole and 20th. the circuits are so short and so unvaried that car setup matters more on ovals than anywhere.

There's so many cases of great athletes who were doing the sport since they were babies, makes me think of parents pushing their kids on to a sport need to start ASAP for any chance

I know what you mean, but it's like that for everything, musicians, singers, painters, even chefs probably had a parent that would cook with them when they were little. If you want to blame someone for your lack of talent then blame your parents for not helping you find a passion early in your life, I know I do.
