>Why is the NFL way more popular than the NBA?
What makes sports entertainment exciting:
>the battle between defense and offense
>frequency of scoring
The NBA has nerfed defenses, causing the offense to be overpowered, therefore scoring happens too frequently, and with little resistance. At that point, you might as well start the game with two minutes left.
The NFL is making the same mistakes. Nerfing defenses, causing the offense to be overpowered, scoring happening too frequently, and with little resistance.
In the NBA it's far worse. Imagine the NFL was three downs of QB's bombing it, and if they all go incomplete, they simply punt. That's what the NBA has turned into. There's no real roles anymore, there's no personality anymore, it's all homogeneous, and boring. I'll still watch the NFL, but it's getting bad. Between dropped balls, horrendous throws, mis-tackles, doinks, muffs, penalties and commercials every 5 minutes, I'm getting to the point now, where I'd rather not waste three hours on a game, and just catch the extended highlights on YouTube.
