Why do players of weak sports like soccer or basket get aggressive over the slightest things and threaten to fight while on the other hand MMA fighters are some of the quietest least belligerent people

because soccer and basketball players know they are protected by the ref and they can dive and be aggresive. If soccer allowed fighting like hockey you would see less diving and many players know their place.

This is true based on what’s happened in rugby since fighting was effectively banned. There’s an increase in diving, faking injury, and physical antagonism such as collar punches and shoving
