Leipzig were mediocre last season, there is no reason to assume they are a top team in the league right now
Bayern are far from their prime right now, their squad is small and the overhaul is still far from complete. They won’t be a CL title candidate imho
Them winning the opening game like this still does show that the league is a meme. I hate to say it, but it is true. Apart from the title „race“, it is mostly fine … but man, that just sucks

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than supporting a German club that isn’t Bayern Munich. Honestly, think about it rationally.

You are watching, cheering, supporting, and spending time for a club for your whole life so the best players can go and get bought by Bayern Munich.
All the hard work you put into your beautiful little club – shilling for the Bundesliga, paying membership, making sure to go to all the games, making up chants,
buying merchandise. All of it has one simple result: the club’s best players are more employable for Bayern Munich which will eventually win trophies with them

Supported the perfect local club? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a Bavarian who has nothing to do with the rest of Germany who vaguely follows Bayern Munich.
He gets to watch your players win the Bundesliga every year. He gets the benefits of your club’s players that came from the way your club supported them on and off the pitch.

As a German who doesn’t support Bayern Munich, you are LITERALLY dedicating your whole life simply to support a club so another club can buy its best players.
It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck.
Think about it logically.

Bros, it's the only way we can slowly work our way up. Yes you have to do constant rebuilding but what else are you supposed to do? You guys act like you can just force a player to stay when he wants to leave because a rich club is offering a huge salary that you can't afford. You obviously can keep him there by law but in practice he will be almost useless if he doesn't feel like it and doesn't give 100%. anymore.

Getting over 9000 monies for Jokic or Haller or Muani has certainly helped us more in the long run than if they had stayed another year or two.
We upgraded the stadium, we have a new campus, a new youth academy, etc. Also, I think selling a "flashy" striker every year to strengthen the depth and core of your team is worth it from a competitive perspective as well. This strategy also means that talented players are happy to join Frankfurt because they see it as a stepping stone and a good stage to shine. Would I prefer if we could just get legends and they stay here forever? Sure. Is that feasible? No.

>You guys act like you can just force a player to stay when he wants to leave because a rich club is offering a huge salary that you can't afford.
so German teams are being forced to sell their players by the bigger spending teams?
After SGE wins the Europa League they shouldnt sell half their team off but instead aim to make it far in the Championsleague.

Again: What is your alternative strategy?
A player shines for a midtier club and Buyern or some English (Arab) oil club offers him three times as much money as he is earning now as well as a higher chance to win trophies. Your strategy is to just tell every player "NO, YOU MAY NOT LEAVE" all the time? First of, most players are divas and will go "on strike" or simply not perform as well anymore. Secondly, soon enough, young and talented players won't want to join your club anymore because they figure "If I perform well there I won't be able to leave to a bigger club so I'd rather not join in the first place".

Also: The exact same thing happens on a smaller scale with teams like us and smaller teams. Do you think Doan or Burkardt just think Frankfurt is cooler than Mainz and Freiburg or do they maybe earn more money here and think playing CL is neat?

Your point doesn't hold up when you had a player like Marmoush who was having a balloon door tier breakout season and instead of keeping him and selling him in the summer for the same amount if not more and a nice comfy CL spot on top which would have attracted better players you sold him in January to the first club that came knocking, sacrificing both short and long term in the process

Dortmund were basically broke in 2005 and got swept to the top by pure coincidence (Klopp). Their finances were in no way comparable to Bayern 10 years ago, and they still aren’t comparable now. Basically all that growth came once they had won 2011. No one in their right mind would have called Dortmund the second-biggest club in Germany in 2009, they had half the members and half the revenue of HSV

The main issue is that Dortmund are massive retards. Like any Ruhrpott club, they basically must get in Ruhrpott people because of „club DNA“. They were about to build a monument for Edin Terzic for saying „I love this club, I am pure BVB“ after every loss in the league. And now they have Kehl in charge of transfers. On top of that, they are eternal mental midgets
Dortmund is much closer to the rest than to Bayern. Playing modern-era CL all the time, which is a self-confirming circle of „get in twice - get your ass stuffed with money - get in again because you have more money than the others in your league - repeat“ saves me them, but they just don’t have anything to actually compete. They now think they are le epic talent club preparing the perpetual title challenge while making a lot of money with sells in the meantime, but their squad doesn’t actually have that much talent anymore
