Newcastle United have had a £50million offer for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves’ stance is that any bid for Strand Larsen this summer will be rejected given he is considered too important to the club and there is not enough time remaining in the transfer window to find a replacement who will be ready to play in the Premier League.
The Newcastle bid consisted of a straight £50m offer with no add-ons included as part of the proposed deal, and followed what Newcastle feel were positive discussions behind the scenes. At this stage there are no club-to-club talks.
Strand Larsen, 25, is viewed by Newcastle as a potential replacement for Callum Wilson, who departed the club this summer following the conclusion of his contract, as opposed to for Alexander Isak.
