Do you expect me to feel pity with Bayern? They had a reason to be sceptic about that sum for that player. But if they don’t get him - tough for them, they got snubbed. That’s arguably good for anyone but Bayern, almost no one minds them not getting the best German players. Now Newcastle pays twice that sum for the same player, maybe Stuttgart can use it to build stronger structures in general. And it won’t be Stuttgart‘s problem if he flops. Losing too many players like this would hurt eventually, but until then …
