Is he the GOAT midfielder already?
He is a blend of Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta, he is by far the best midfielder in the world and he is only 22

I was a big fan on Xavi when i was younger, and i played football myself and watch games for a long time and i can tell you this guy is one of the best midfielders of all time already:

- Pressing Resistent, he has same ball shielding technique as xavi

- he nearly never fails a pass

- good at reading the game

- good 1 : 1 dribbling

- can play all kinds of passes, short, long, tiki taka

- even can score goals if hes playing in a central offensive position

also hes agile what makes him hard to tackle

I have watched Zidane life at Bernabeu you fucking spastic. The level that this guy has, his stamina and IQ are something that I haven't seeing since Xavi, but on top of that he has Iniesta tier dribbling and versatility and top tier stadistical production for his position.
He only has had 1 and a half season at this level but if he keeps this level for 4 or 5 years you will be hard press to find a better midfielder than him in terms of all time greats

Yeah sure thing buddy. There are so many midfielders ahead of this guy, not just Zidane and Iniesta. You're doing the same thing we did after Bellingham's first season at Madrid, overrating him to high heaven and saying he's already better than the likes of Gerrard, Scholes etc. it's all just recency bias

There's been way too much fake hype behind some players that play for Barça especially.

Being locked in current crysis Barcelona makes it near impossible for him to pretend to be that. He's not winning enough titles and accolades in that team and despite being a one man midfield he's not a defender nor a striker so when his team lets him down (or is unable to dominate football altogether like Xavi and Iniesta's) people will just say that he also can't be that good, so he will be remembered maybe around Isco or Fábregas level.

Now when it comes to player vs player I'd say he is very close to getting there, at least as of this moment. When people talk about Iniesta they do it with rose tinted glasses, remembering only his best moments and skills but ignoring he was very weak minded (he struggled with depression for years) and so there were plenty of moments during the season where he just wouldn't show up. This is why I've always said Xavi was a better midfielder because even though he wasn't as technically gifted his work rate and effectiveness was unmatched.

Considering this, I'd say Pedri is close or at their level because he combines the best of both players while lacking nothing from either, and last year he was so above any other player in his position that it feels he was playing a different sport, something I've only ever said about precisely those two players, and Messi, of course.

>he will be remembered maybe around Isco or Fábregas level.
He is way above both already and if he wins a WC (he has 3 more tries) he will consolidate himself as the GOAT midfielder even if he wins 0 CL titles (unlikely).
Anonymous Spain No.150667630
>>150667528
He's above them but people remember numbers and trophies and just by playing in this Barcelona he will lack the former. Even if he won one WC I don't see people and football fans rating him higher than those players I've mentioned, or any other of the second rate (compared to Xavi and Iniesta) midfielders we produced 15 years ago
