i don't expect anything. after decades of watching us i still have no clue how good we are/are meant to be/should be/could be. there's too many variables; we have the biggest league on earth, yes there's lots of foreign players but in raw numbers there's still more english players than any one other nationality. but then i ask myself how much is that because not every player in a team is "that" important; if the biggest league on earth was in albania would there still be a decent number of albanians getting picked? maybe. would they look a lot better surrounded by foreign players? yes. yet i think the players we have are technically better than they were even just 10/15 years ago. but everyone's technically better around the world due to sports science and everyone playing poop ball.

basically i don't have a clue what to expect with any individual game against any individual opponent. we're not as good as we're marketed as, we're not as bad as our haters claim us to be. we're a well-marketed "Switzerland during a good era"
