Will the EPL be a top 2 league in our lifetime?

Lol

No.

they do, probably the biggest in the world but unless they are gonna ‘commercialize’ the league like the NFL and consorts there is no way they gonna catch you lot.

American sports are designed and created for mass advertisments. No normal sport will generate anything close to them. Like who the fuck even watchs MLB? seats are always empty.

these graphs are thrown together by americans who don't realise not every sport has the same length contracts. the PL is a 3 season contract and a cursory google search suggest the NHL has a 7 billion dollar deal over 11 years

i think only the NFL has a higher amount per season than the PL, not that these ridiculous figures should be celebrated unless you're a braindead ameritard who lives in a trailer

no need to be so hostile, you don’t have to be a genius to realize that the biggest sport in the world with the most followed league would have plenty of ways to generate more revenue if they wanted.

Lmao you should check out the amount of ads in Finnish baseball, every square inch of their clothes are covered in ads. In addition, players have personal sponsors who are announced live in the stadium when they step up to hit. Even the gold helmet of each team is sponsored and announced when they do something. Oh, and the umpires are sponsored too.

No, I don’t think so. The American leagues are 30+ franchises that can expand anytime, and the entire system is primed for profit. Unless the Premier League manages to massively expand in the US and China/India, it will not close the gap
And it doesn’t have to

Also there are some serious fans in mainland Europe that would just go out and harras officials and club presidents/their kids if they ever tried something like

but think of it like this, how much money are you going to make from it? In indonesia its 80 dollars a year to watch the PL, Kenya its like 50 dollars
How much does it cost to watch the NFL in the USA?

A benelux league would snowball into a european superleague, since at that point country borders won't matter anymore for leagues and you'll see more leagues merging. It's a good thing that a benelux league doesn't exist, and should only exist if those three countries combined first.

NFL is almost all free for your local team, each time slot has games on channels that are free. The only time you would have to pay is if your team plays on the one Thursday game of the week (Amazon Prime) or the Monday game of the week (ESPN, so basic cable).

We do but there are a few channels you can get for free without a plan. I have a plan but I still get the free channels that show the NFL games by sticking a paper clip in the cable outlet to use as an antenna because there is less delay than my cable hookup. I do that so I can mute it and line it up with the radio broadcast or live bet different things.

i'd guess advertising in the USA is the main income then
over here you need ESPN, costs like 17 euro a month but you also get to watch the Eredivisie, bundesliga(as if anyone here cares) and all european cup football which most people here watch, so it inflates the price. Few people buy it just for the NFL , we also get a lot less advertisement

Wouldn't it make more sense to merge Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia's leagues? Luxembourg has no teams; they'd basically be abolishing their own league if they joined a Benelux league. Meanwhile, the three Baltic countries are all about equal in size and ability, but they're also so shit that nobody will complain if two-thirds of each league got relegated.
